Undertaker (3-disc), HHH (3-disc), Ladder Matches

Recommended Posts

I found this posted at DVDTalk:

Good news for Undertaker fans.. His DVD will be called "WWE Tombstone: The History of the Undertaker" and will now be a 3-disc Collection, released on August 23.

Triple H need not feel left out as the WWE are planning on releasing "Evolution of the Game", a 3-disc Collection, on November 22. This will be an interesting month as Triple H will go head-to-head with ECW on November 22. ECW's Greatest Matches, a 2-disc set, will be released on the very same day.

Rewind a couple of months and get set for a follow-up to Bloodbath: Wrestlings Greatest Steel Cage Matches... prepare yourself for some high risk action as the WWE unleash a Greatest Ladder Matches 2-disc set. Mark September 27 in your diaries.

Three discs of the Undertaker? That should be interesting, just to see what kind of matches they'll put on it.

I think I'd like the ladder match DVD the most though, though the HHH DVD could be good depending on which matches they put on it (which is to say, if it has a lot of 2000-01 stuff, it could be good).

I wonder if ECW will outsell HHH. Maybe they'll have to cook the numbers.

Yeah, this is cool. Taker DVD could be good, if they stick to 96/97, most of all. Triple H's is less appealing, but should be OK, as long as they throw a load of 2000/01 Raw/SD matches on there. Ladder matches should be good. ECW DVD is kinda hit or miss, but it should do well.

I can't believe they STILL haven't released a Rock or Austin 3 disc set, though. Or Bret. I NEED those three. Angle would be nice, too.

Won't the issue of blurred logos be in effect again?(mostly for the HHH dvd) Not that it matters to me, it's hardly distracting to me.

I'm guessing each HHH and Undertaker dvd will include features on the first disc meaning two full discs of content.

Were they saying there was going to be another Bloodbath Cage match dvd or that the ladder match is a follow up to that series?

I should note that is this a viable source?

I remember a really fun 6 man tag match on Smackdown w/ Edge, Taker and Rikishi vs Benoit, Guerrero and Angle. Won't make the disc but the match was fun and it was the beggining of Taker's good workrate period on SD.

If they do the entire HBK/UT trilogy from 97/98 (Ground Zero-Bad Blodd-Royal Rumble)

then that alone would be worth the $23 at Wal-Mart, even though I already own the Badd Blood match on the Michaels set.

BTW, picked up the Greatest Stars of the 80s set last night. Thought it would be just a hodgepodge of matches, but the real meat is a farily in depth retrospective on each guy featured, with each guy participating (except Dusty for some reason, though it has everyone from Flair to Bisch to Billy Graham to Piper to Race singing his praises). Good to see Steamboat looking back, as he was sorely MIA from the Flair set.

What will be on the Best of Ladder Matches set? Will it have any matches WCW or ECW? Or will be it nothing but TLC and HBK matches?

Is the ECW greatest matches DVD, a "volume 1" type of deal, because it could definately fill up more then 2 DVDs.

Here's a List of WCW/WWF(E) Ladder Matches off the top of my head

Bret Hart Vs HBK= 1992 House Show (on a couple colieseum tapes)

HBK Vs Razor Ramon=WMX

HBK Vs Razmor Ramon=Slam 1995

Eddy Guerrero Vs Syxx=Souled Out 1997

The Rock Vs Triple H=Summer Slam 1998

The Rock Vs Mankind=Raw 1999

Goldberg Vs Scott Hall=Souled Out 1999

Steve Austin Vs McMahons=KOTR 1999

Edge and Christian Vs Hardyz=No Mercy 1999

Chris Benoit Vs Jeff Jarrett=Starrcade 1999

Three Count Vs Jung Dragons=New Blood Rising 2000

Dudleyz Vs E&C Vs Hardyz=WM2000

Chris Benoit Vs Chris Jericho=Royal Rumble 2001

Dudleyz Vs E&C Vs Hardyz=WMX7

E&C Vs Dudleyz Vs Hardyz Vs CVC=Smackdown 2001

Jeff Hardy Vs RVD=SummerSlam 2001

Edge Vs Christian=No Mercy 2001

Eddy Guerrero Vs RVD= 5.27.02 RAW

Undertaker Vs Jeff Hardy=7.1.02 RAW

Kane Vs Dudz Vs Jericho/Christian Vs Hardy/RVD=10.6.02 RAW

Eddy and Tajiri Vs WGGT=Judgment Day 2003

RVD Vs Christian=9.29.03 RAW

Chris Jericho Vs Christian=Unforgiven 2004

ECW has done Ladder matches before but im not versed in ECW History.

Im not sure if they own the footage to the REAL first ladder match in recorded history(Bret Hart Vs Bad News Allen in Stampede) or if they would even admit they didnt create the gimmick.

I'm a HUGE ladder match mark, so I'll for sure pick that up.

Regarding the HHH DVD, I went back a bit ago and watched some 2000 stuff, and you know what? I just can't watch it. I'm not sure what it is, but I can't watch HHH, Rock and Austin going against each other. The only HHH match I liked from 2000 was against Jericho, and I'm sure that's because I subconsciously just like everything Jericho does, especially during that time. And since I'm sure a big part of this DVD will be 2000, I doubt I'll pick it up.

man wwe sure wnats to make me go broke this year.

Blurring doesnt bother me too much, but it is annoying and I wish they would resolve that issue somehow (I would say as long as they dont use the wwf name or logo to promote the dvd or show it on the cover or book, it would be cool, listen up vince)

I hope the Ladder Match DVD has the Starrcade 2000 Ladder Match on it.

Probably not, since Vince does not want us to think WCW had any good matches. but that would be a nice surprise for me since I haven't seen that one before.

Yeah no diss to HHH or Taker, they deserve their sets, but where is the ultimate Rock and ultimate Austin collections at? I would think those two DVDs would be the gold mine. Both guys are pretty much retired, but their still fresh in the minds of fans. I have to think you could fill up a whole disc with classic Rock promos alone.

They have had a couple dvd's for rock and austin already but nothing close to a "Ultimate" collection.

I find it suspect they do Road Warriors, Benoit, Eddy, Foley, RVD before they do the seemingly sure fire jackpot of Austin, Rock and Hart.

Well, SCSA and Rock each have had 3 separate discs sold before, so I'm thinking they'll hold off on doing a full retrospective on them until their careers are far behind them (say, 2 years down the line).

I think that HHH and Taker sets are definitely long overdue. What's the word on an Angle set?

Most HHH matches worth watching are already on DVD, so giving him a 3-Disk set is pointless. Do we really need another copy of the MSG Street Fight?

Taker on the other hand has had a career lasting for almost 15 years at this point. His set is easily the most interesting of the three.

Ladder matches is in the same spot as the HHH set. Pretty much everything they would put on is already available on DVD. You have a better chance of getting something new like the Summerslam 95 match, but it still is less necessary than the Taker set, or the Cage Match set they had a couple of years ago.

The Undertaker DVD will ber interesting, but will likely end up being a fantastic car crash. Does anyone really desire to see Undertaker vs Kamala, Giant Gonzalez, Yokozuna, Himself, Mable, or Kane again? It will be nice to see highlights from the Foley feud again.

You lie.

There is no way tou did that off the top of your head, especially with the dates. If you did, please go get laid.

Here's an interesting question,

Would there be any WCW HHH matches on his DVD? It'd be nice to include one match on the DVD from WCW for both men actually. The Undertaker's days as Mean Mark Callous in WCW were pretty decent. I liked his tag team work in the The Skyscrapers.

Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Rock are two definate sellers as far as getting an ultimate collection goes. How well did Hulk Hogan's DVD set do though?
