Brett Favre 0 Report post Posted June 14, 2005 Wow, so Steve Phillips says we're going in sell-mode by the Deadline if this continues? Bye to Matsui, Sheff, Bernie, and Brown (last year of contracts)? That'd be something.

TheDevilAndGodAreRagingInsideMe 0 Report post Posted June 14, 2005 They also need to settle on a lineup for at least a week or so and see how it pans out. I've heard Torre has used something like 45 different lineups so far, and they're only played 62 games so far.
MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted June 14, 2005 Eric Gagne's going back on the DL.. damnit (for my fantasy team anyway..)

I've heard Torre has used something like 45 different lineups so far, and they're only played 62 games so far. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That's not a big deal. Terry Francona used 141 different lineups last year. Ron Gardenhire used 131.
EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted June 15, 2005 sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news?slug=cnnsi-bronxbum&prov=cnnsi&type=lgns That sums up the total suckage that is Tony Womack. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I stand by my statement that the Yankees would be better off calling up ANY of their outfielders in Columbus. Mitch Jones has a .602 slugging percentage. I am sure he could slug at least .400 in Yankee Stadium.
Brett Favre 0 Report post Posted June 15, 2005 That's because he had depth. He switched players in and out of the lineup; unlike Torre who has no depth, and just uses the same players in different orders. Or so I think, not sure.
Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted June 15, 2005 Bernie Williams flat out sucks at this point. I don't care if it is the last year of his deal. How exactly would he help anyone?
Brett Favre 0 Report post Posted June 15, 2005 If someone has like a 5 year 15 million dollar contract, and the team wants to get rid of this underachiever or whatever, they'd make that trade.

Precious Roy 0 Report post Posted June 15, 2005 Eric Gagne's going back on the DL.. damnit (for my fantasy team anyway..) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Go get Brazoban. I just picked him up in a half dozen leagues when I heard the news
Brett Favre 0 Report post Posted June 15, 2005 Well, just saying how he'd help anyone. Not exactly us, but you know. I rather just let him expire.
Precious Roy 0 Report post Posted June 15, 2005 It would be sacrilage to trade Bernie at this point. He's probably going to retire anyway, letting him go out in pinstripes will please the baseball gods

I just picked him up in a half dozen leagues when I heard the news <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hes taken.. --- Julio comes in, up 3-0 in the 8th..nails Biggio for the 263rd time (for Biggio) and hes in danger of letting the tie run come to the plate with no outs. mike546 0 Report post Posted June 15, 2005 I just checked, and from July 3rd to August 14th, the Yankees schedule is brutal. In order, Baltimore, Clevland, Boston, Texas, Angels, Minnesota, Angels, Clevland, Toronto, White Sox, and Texas. They need to totally own the rest of this month, or their doomed. Nice win tonight though, just wish Moose was more consistent.
MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted June 15, 2005 Yeah so the Os beat the Astros 6-1..another good game, Julio scared the crap out of me in the 8th and they were lucky to not give up more than the 1 run. Last time the Orioles swept an interleague Series was 1999 (vs the Braves and the Expos). The Astros swept the O's back in 2003...

Bye to Matsui, Sheff, Bernie, and Brown (last year of contracts)? That'd be something. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Why are you listening to Steve Phillips? the guy is just still upset that The Yanks beat the Mets in 2000. (wait was he still the gm at that point?) and he bashes them every time I see him on tv.
mike546 0 Report post Posted June 15, 2005 Hes the same guy who predicted the Twins would beat the Yankees in the playoffs last year because no one in that lineup "scares" him beside Jeter.
Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted June 15, 2005 They shouldn't of feared that lineup. Look how they all folded like tents after Game 3 against Boston.
the max 0 Report post Posted June 15, 2005 Hes the same guy who predicted the Twins would beat the Yankees in the playoffs last year because no one in that lineup "scares" him beside Jeter. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The Twins lost that series more than the Yankees won it. Had Gardenhire used Nathan properly, the Twins would have all but gone to the ALCS, since they would have won the two in New York.
Brett Favre 0 Report post Posted June 15, 2005 Similar to the Yankees losing that series more than Boston winning it. Like it matters.
mike546 0 Report post Posted June 15, 2005 I'm not saying it was stupid he predicted the Twins to beat us. I'm saying his reasoning was stupid. Sheff, A-Rod and Matsui aren't scary?!?

mike546 0 Report post Posted June 16, 2005 Brown leaves the game with an elbow injury. Sean Henn, welcome back. Edit: I hate this team. I really do. They refuse to do anything right.
Vasarian_Brandy 0 Report post Posted June 16, 2005 I'd just like to point out that the Cleveland Indians are winners of 4 straight, and 7 of their last 8. The White Sox are bound to falter coming up sometime soon here. And the Twins don't have anyone in their lineup that scares me. (Snicker) Add in the fact that this is, after all, the AL Central, and I think this can be a 3-horse race still.
mike546 0 Report post Posted June 16, 2005 Fuck these umps. Called a 1-1 pitch to Giambi a strike that was 8 feet outside, and a 2-1 pitch a strike to Cano that was 8 feet inside. And Tanyon Sturtze has morphed back into Tampa Tanyon, giving up 2 HRers in 2 innings. Gah.
EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted June 16, 2005 For you Yankee fans, I am going to see two Columbus Clipper games next week. I'll let you know how bad the farm system sucks.
