VELOCITY TAPING

 

(1) Nunzio & Big Vito beat Garrison Cade & Trevor Rhodes. This was probably a dark match, actually.

 

(2) Super Crazy & Psicosis beat Akio & Billy Kidman. Crazy did the ten count punch in the corner, but said the numbers in English apparently.

 

(3) Juventud Guerrera beat Funaki via Super Dragon's Supernatural Driver.

 

(4) MNM beat Kevin Matthews & Nick Berk. Total squash match.

 

SMACKDOWN TAPING

 

(1) Rene Dupree defeated Mark Jindrak

 

JBL comes out and cuts a long winded promo about ECW. He is interupted by Chris Benoit who is attacked by the Bashams.

 

(2) Chris Benoit defeated Doug & Danny Basham via a roll-up on one of the Bashams.

 

Afterwards Benoit is attacked and Undertaker makes the save. Main Event is set, JBL vs. Taker, No Disqualification.

 

(3) Eddie Guerrero defeated Paul London with the Lasso From El Paso in a non-title match. Pretty much a squash match. Rey Mysterio came down and had a brawl with Eddie. Rey hit Eddie with some chair shots, Eddie was helped out.

 

The Cabinet is backstage and the Bashams quit. Signed for tonight, Orlando Jordan defends the United States Title against Hardcore Holly, and Matt Morgan takes on the Big Show.

 

Carlito's Cabana: Carlito insults Sharmell, Booker T beats him down.

C-Bacon, I'll do you one better. Im sick of OJ having the United States title. What is the purpose of him holding the belt? Why not give it to another worker who could actually benefit from being given a run with the belt? Hell, it would give Eddy and Rey something to fight over at least, and add a little more heat to their feud.

I hate pretty much all of the finishes. They should scrap all of them...especially the pull of the tights because the way it looks it doesn't even seem possible that it would even work(with the "added" leverage and all). I hope Randy looks a little bigger than last time...guess that means Batista is headin to SD! though...this draft really exposes WWE but what the hell else could they do.....

Dark Match:

 

Big Vito and Nunzio vs. Trevor Rhodes and Garrison Cade. Nunzio and Vito won via rollup by Nunzio.

 

Velocity:

 

Akio and Kidman (returning) vs. Psicosis (debuting) w/ mask and Super Crazy ended with moonsalt from Super Crazy for the pin.

 

Juventued Guerrera (debuting) w/o mask vs. Funaki. This match was given some time and Juventued won with Super Dragon's Supernatural Driver.

 

MNM vs. Kevin Mathews and Nick Berk Mercury of MNM defeated Nick Berk with a pedigree looking move. Total squash.

 

Mark Jindrak vs. Rene Dupree is in the ring right now. Dupree won clean in a quick match.

 

SmackDown!:

 

JBL came to the ring and basically cut a promo on ECW saying why it sucked and that the only reason it was good and got any rating was because he was on the show. He said if he goes to RAW, then SmackDown! is finished for good because wherever he goes, so does the money. He is interupted by Chris Benoit until the Basham's come out to make the save setting up..........

 

Chris Benoit vs. Doug Basham is in the ring now. Benoit won with a rollup and then JBL jumped in. He says he is a wrestling god and taunts Benoit. The lights go out and 'Taker's music hits. When the lights come back on, Taker (returning) is in the ring and he cleans house. JBL grabs the mic on the way out and cuts a heel promo on Taker until Teddy Long shows up and says tonight it'll be JBL vs. Undertaker, No DQ.

 

Eddie Guerrero vs. Paul London ended with Eddie putting London in a Texas Cloverleaf and wouldn't let go. Rey Mysterio came out with a chair and the two wrestled around to the outside near the barricade until the agents (Fit Finly etc) came out to break the two up.

 

There is about a five minute intermission and then we see Eddie and Rey come back to the ring fighting. Rey hits Eddie with a chair and the refs/agents come out to break the two up again. They used an electric fence to keep them seperated.

 

A backstage segment aired where the Basham Brothers said they were sick and tired of the the whole cabinet idea and quit. They talked about tonight's No DQ match between Taker and JBL.

 

Carlito's Cabana had Carlito interviewing Booker T and Sharmell. Carlito was his smart ass saying this could be the last night Sharmell and Booker are on the same show because Sharmell is a diva and can be drafted. He says that could ruin their marriage. Booker T gets upset and attacks Carlito and then the two start throwing apples at him as he exits.

 

Matt Morgan vs. The Big Show ended by DQ when Carlito, who was ringside, used a chair. Morgan attempted an FU on the outside through the announce table but it was reversed into a chokeslam by Show, through a table.

 

Hardcore Holly vs. Orlando Jordan for the US title ended with Orlando Jordan falling on Holly's shoulders and grabbing the ropes for the pin.

 

John Heidenreich came out to the ring to read a poem about being his friend. He brought out a big Hershey Kiss (they are in Hershey, PA, chocolate capital of the world). The diva's come out (Jackie Gayda and diva search 1 girls Joy, Candice..??) and make remarks about Heidenreich's ''big candy bar'. MNM comes out and Melina says she would never be John's friend and also shot on the diva girls. Melina attacks one of the diva girls, John tries to help, he's attacked by MNM, and they pose.

 

JBL vs. The Undertaker in the main event went about 20 minutes. Randy Orton (no music) hit the ring and hit the RKO on Taker. JBL falls on top of him for the pin. Orton grabs the mic and says he's officially SmackDown!. I think the show goes off the air there. JBL and Jordan ran back into the ring and attacked Taker. We'll have the rest in a what you wont see post in a little bit. That's all for SmackDown!.

Orton v Undertaker better be held off for a while, because the only logical finish is Orton going over clean, and if it's too soon after Undi does a job here, I can see Undi not feeling the logic.

If he's out of action for another three months, it makes no sense to start teasing his return match with Undertaker now, because WWE lack the patience and ability to hold the match off in a decent manner, and the casual fans lack the patience to wait that long for the match.

 

And any word on if Orton followed Vince's advice and has been 'working out' ?

The very first draft, McMahon picked Chris Benoit who was still out with his neck injury, and ended up on RAW anyways. So there's logic for you. It's still pretty early in the draft, I wouldn't be surprised if Smackdown started to get better workers from RAW in the last two weeks of the draft.
