iliketurtles 0 Report post Posted June 18, 2005 So now that One Night Stand has come and gone, I decided to spend the evening going through the small amount of ECW tapes I have. One of the shows I watched again was Heatwave 2000 and noticed a really funny moment during Sandman's entrance. The Sandman comes out and stands next to this guy in a Philadelphia Flyers jersey and you can visibly see him verbally say "HOW OLD ARE YOU?" and the guy goes "23" and then Sandman chugs a beer down the guy's throat. Classic ECW. Post away.

Guest Ransome Report post Posted June 18, 2005 An obvious choice, but Steve Austin's Monday Nyquil parody for sure. As far as I can recall, they have it as an extra on the Stone Cold Truth DVD I once rented.

Special K 0 Report post Posted June 18, 2005 Cyrus and Joey were often very funny. Damned if I can remember an exchange of the top of my head, but their interaction could very well have been scripted. It's only funny once the shock wears off, but New Jack once set up D-Von for a Balcony Dive WAY too far out, runs, jumps, does his little arm-motion mid-air, falls short, and skips his face off the table. Then the man gets up, pissed off and a bit groggy, but more pissed off. He may be a psycho, but he's tough as fuck too. Steve Corino v Tajiri, Corino has had his ass OWNED allll match. He is covered with blood. The first advantage he gets, he sets up Tajiri for a suplex and screams "You can all suck my dick!" while miming jacking himself off with Tajiri's hand. Then he does a, well perfect, perfectplex. Corino to Taz: Oh, sure! Resort to cursing to pop the crowd! Real mature! Taz: Fine! I think I will. (20 second long bleep) while Corino looks more and more agitated. Dawn Marie's bimbo act was really great for a while there, especially when she would get in with Styles and Cyrus. Bubba: "And we got some nasty stankasaurus who just took 8 inches of black dick so far up her ass she didn't know what hit her!" What makes it is D-Von's on the second turnbuckle, and once he hears this, he starts making frantic humping motions until he (intentionally) falls off. It always blew my mind and cracked me up when Tony Marmaluke got dragged not over, but THROUGH the gaurdrail. I was at an ECW show, 3rd row, and there's some poor family man with like an 11 year daughter there. During a spike match they're chanting 'LSD'. Daughter: Why are they chanting LSD? Dad (stoic): It's a drug, and some people think drugs are cool. But they're not. 20 minutes later Sabu almost killed us by careening into the crowd from the ring, of course bloody as fuck. I thought Simon Diamond's 'dick' promos were really stupid, and funny at the same time. 'My dick is big, hard and vascular!'

Papacita 0 Report post Posted June 18, 2005 This one always cracked me up. From (I think) November to Remember 95: Steve Austin (to Mikey Whipwreck): Because I'm Steve Austin, and from now until the end of this match, your name is Eric Bischoff. Joey Styles: Well in that case, whip his ass then...I didn't mean that.
Guest Ether Report post Posted June 18, 2005 Quite a few...hard to come up with them quickly. The RVD/Sabu promos were funny, such as the one before the Sabu/Terry Funk barbed wire match where he starts naming Sabu's scars, or before his match against Bam Bam Bigelow, where he says he's going to knock out Bigelow's teeth, then looks at Fonzie, then tries again and says he will "scar Bigelow's body" before he looks and at Sabu. Finally, he looks at both Sabu and Fonzie and says he will "rip Bigelow's head off" getting approval from the two. Proof that RVD, with the right style, could cut a promo. The Joel Gertner promos were all great, with the best being, in a description of Johnny Grunge "... in desparate need of a shower. Smelling like the inside of the asshole of a 75 year old skunk with coyote pussy on it's breath." I'm watching Hardcore Heaven 97 right now and while the Sandman/ambulance skit as a whole was dumb, Lance Wright's comment of the Sandman stopping at a store and "picking what what appears to be a carton of cigarettes and an ice cold beverage (beer)" was priceless. Guest Fook Report post Posted June 18, 2005 I remember an Austin promo where he was talking about gifts he was going to give to people. To Sandman: "I'm going to get you a carton of smokes and some beer!" To 2 Cold Scorpio: "I'm going to get you some fried chicken and watermelon!" To Woman: "I'm going to get you a bag for your head!" Guest Mosaicv2 Report post Posted June 18, 2005 I always giggle when Bubba Ray would sell having the barb-wire used against him (scream to high-heavens and makes a silly-look at the camera) Also a Bubba Ray memory where The Dudleys lost the titles to Spike and Balls, while Bubba beats on Spike on the outside of the ring, he eventually stares at the camera and says "7 time... 7 time... VINCE!... I LOVE YOU VINCE! THANK YOU!"
iliketurtles 0 Report post Posted June 18, 2005 The Dudleys used have a bunch of fucking crazy promos. Cause riots, basically. Austin's anti-WCW was hilarious. I suggest anyone to catch those, as described in this thead. He was one pissed off mother fucker. That's for sure. And Gertner's promos...I don't think he one "poem" that wasn't funny in the latter years of ECW. It's too bad he didn't get to go off on Smackdow and Raw at ONS. Joey: "Catfight!" Rick: "Hey Styles, wouldn't it be great if they...*BEEEEEEEP*" Joey: "Uh...Catfight!" One of my favorites as well. After Mikey and Cacus win the tag titles. Catus: "Mikey, the Public Enemy is very mad at us. DO YOU KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS?!" Mikey almost crying: "It means I'm gonna die." Cactus: "HE LIKES IT! Mikey really really likes it!" CanadianGuitarist 0 Report post Posted June 18, 2005 Styles: DAMMIT! Cyrus: Dammit? DAMMIT!? Will you please call a Dreamer match fairly? Styles: I don't want to see ANY MAN take a beating like that! (CW Anderson gets hit by Dreamer with a chair) Cyrus: (sarcastically) DAMMIT! -- Gertner: Our second PPV in New York City. With my nuts on her chin, even(points to random audience skank) THAT girl would look pretty!

Another good one was during one match the crowd started chanting "She has herpes" at Francine, to which Rude said "She has what? I certainly hope not." Jericholic82 0 Report post Posted June 21, 2005 I memorized one Gertner poem, from I believe it was Living Dangerously 2000 (the show was in CT so some help would be ok lol) " It is I, the quitessential stud muffin, Joel 'This Girl I know wanted to see the show, live here tonight in Con-nec-ticut, so I told her to bend over and I 'd show her where I'd stick it...For the the next 45 mintues, she proceeded to tease and please and lick it, but when all was said and done, you know I made her buy a ticket' Gertner" RVD's Heatwave 98 promo (its an easter egg on the one of a kind dvd set btw) with sabu and fonzie cracks me up. He keeps talking about how everyone came to see RVD, then kept throwing in "and you too Sabu" when Sabu got mad. and how he was going to retain my tag titles and sequed into our to make sabu happy (he said retain my-our tag belts) Then he sneezed and said "Hakushi" when refrering to one of his opponents, the former Hakushi in WWF) Great stuff. DMann2003 0 Report post Posted June 21, 2005 Stevie and Meanie impersonating Public Enemy because WWE had the Fake Razor & Diesel while WCW had the fake Sting was gold. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The best is when they try to spell "WCW" using the letters off the Public Enemy Jersey. And one point where Meanie says something out of the blue (no pun) and Stevie looks at him and breaks character for half a minute and says "what?" "Ladi-dadi we like Ice Cream"
Guest jm29195 Report post Posted June 21, 2005 In the first round of the ECW Tag Tournament at the Ballroom in 2000, the match is Sandman/Chilly Willie vs Credible/Rhino- Sandman takes literally 10 minutes to get to the ring going through the song 2 times and is promptly gored and tombstoned by Credible for the pin in less than 10 seconds max- just hilarious! Epic Reine 0 Report post Posted June 21, 2005 I remember when the ECW locker room gave their opinions on RVD jumping to the WWE in 1997, everyone gave hilarious comments: Louie Spicoli: "RVD, if you EVER go back to the WWF.......Say hi to Hunter and Shawn for me, will ya?" Tracy Smother: "Who are you talking about? Jean-Claude Van Dam?" Guido: "No, we're talking about ROB VAN DAM, are you following this conversation?"

Guest dreamer420 Report post Posted June 22, 2005 At Guilty as Charged 2000 (I think) Fonzie walks into RVD's dressing room for a quick promo. As he enters he says "damn RVD" in that hilarious voice of his and then immediatly walks over and opens a window. The room looked a little hazy too, so it is entirely possible RVD was hotboxing before the show (making him my favorite wrestler of all time) Joel Gertner, paired with the Dudley's, did some very funny promos. Also Joey Styles and Cyrus came up with some pretty good insults while calling the action. They are one of my favorite teams of all time because of their chemistry.
