Guest FromBeyondTheGrave Report post Posted February 16, 2006 OVW TV Tapings Feb/15th/06: Tag Team Dark Match The Desperados defeated The Russians (Boris & Oleg, with Natasha). Singles Match K.C. James defeated Danny Inferno. OVW Heavyweight Title Tournament: Quarter-Finals "The Shooter" Brent Albright defeated Elijah Burke. OVW Heavyweight Title Tournament: Quarter-Finals OVW Southern Tag Team champion, Chris Cage defeated Johnny Jeter. OVW Heavyweight Title Tournament: Quarter-Finals OVW Southern Tag Team champion, "The Miz" defeated Rene Dupree. Main Event: OVW Heavyweight Title Tournament: Quarter Finals CM Punk defeated Ken Doane (with The Spirit Squad). Brent Albright and The Spirit Squad attacked Punk after the match. The whole locker room came out to separate them, and the ring got packed full, when...Mr Kennedy's music hit to a HUGE pop in the arena. He came out, got on top of the announcer's desk and said, "Hey, where's the professionalism here, huh? If Matt Cappotelli's speech taught us anything last week, it was...LET THEM FIGHT!" Huge brawl started where all the faces fought off the heels. Next week OVW Heavyweight Title Tournament: Semi-Finals "The Shooter" Brent Albright .VS. OVW Southern Tag Team champion, "The Miz". OVW Heavyweight Title Tournament: Semi-Finals CM Punk .VS. OVW Southern Tag Team champion, Chris Cage. I'm guessing it's going to be Punk/Albright in the final (maybe a strap-match), with Punk winning the OVW Heavyweight title.

Smartly Pretty 0 Report post Posted February 16, 2006 Punk winning the OVW title could be huge. Cena, Batista, and Eugene were all pushed to the moon after winning it, even if Eugene didn't pan out the way they hoped (wonder why . . .)
Fro 0 Report post Posted February 19, 2006 This was a pretty good show... Dupree carried Miz to a good match and looks totally the same as he did in WWE now (as opposed to a month ago when he looked cracked out and flabby). Punk is really smooth now... he's learned some stuff in OVW. There was a hilarious backstage segment with Osama Alejandoro and Maria where Osama was talking about how his revolution was could to make him El Presidente of Kentucky. There was also one with the Spirit Squad where Jeter teased that he was going to dedicate winning the tournament to Matt Cappotelli, but then said he was dedicating it to the Sprit Squad. Pretty good show, overall.
Alro 0 Report post Posted February 19, 2006 So is Albright a full fledged heel now? Somebody get The Miz some decent wrestling attire. Dupree looked pretty good. Is he still having problems with his hernia?
Zack Malibu 0 Report post Posted February 19, 2006 I've finally gotten the Oct. '05 thru Jan. '06 DVD's, and I'm loving it because it seems under Heyman's reign that everything in the span of one episode means something. Don't get me wrong, I've been following OVW for years and Cornette did a hell of a job producing excellent TV, but it just seems that the slightest thing is part of a grand scheme of angle advancement under Heyman. I just started watching September '05 on Friday night, and I'm already on disc 2 of October, having just finished the episode with the Boogeyman/Lashley match. Alro 0 Report post Posted February 26, 2006 Awesome show this week. Heyman apparently loves the Osama character. I think he's great on the mic, but how is he in the ring? I've only seen that quick squash with him and Dawber against Punk & Albright. The semi-final matches were pretty good. I liked Punk watching his back and going for the crucifix instead of the Anaconda Vice. My only complaint about the title tournament is how predictable the finals were. I don't know who is going over in that match, but the road to it was just plain obvious. Birchall as a pirate wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Miz isn't as bad as he should be, though I wish he would get some decent attire.

Alro 0 Report post Posted July 3, 2006 I'm bumping this old thread to post some video I capped of OVW this weekend. Enjoy. Title vs. Title; Winner gets a shot at Rey Mysterio CM Punk vs. Seth Skyfire http://www.megaupload.com/?d=88H7SZCI Chet The Jet vs. Pat Buck http://www.megaupload.com/?d=LFMZ41TB Kasey James & Roadkill vs. Los Locos http://www.megaupload.com/?d=QYWH8QK6 The Debut of "Fearless" Jack Bull http://www.megaupload.com/?d=ROLNK318 Punk vs. Skyfire is pretty good. Probably the best match I've seen OVW do since the Punk/Albright stuff. The Jack Bull stuff had me laughing my ass off. It is so insanely stupid that I couldn't help it. The other two matches are just filler, but they are there if you want them.
Alro 0 Report post Posted July 9, 2006 Here is some more OVW video I capped from last night's show. Seth Skyfire vs. Brent Gunner Scott Albright http://www.megaupload.com/?d=75F4MR4N Promos & Interviews - Armando Alejandro Estrada runs down the Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom card - Elijah Burke's 4th of July Tribute - Al Snow promo on Simon Dean - Vignette for unknown wrestler - Robbie Dawber interviews Simon Dean about Al Snow - Promo for Rey Mysterio coming to Six Flags http://www.megaupload.com/?d=4BGUUFNJ Kasey James & Roadkill vs. Aaron Stevens & R-Ka-Us http://www.megaupload.com/?d=Q44A8DB5 The Miz vs. Shawn Spears http://www.megaupload.com/?d=J4JMWL7Y Deuce and Domino vs. Shad Gaspard and The Neighborhoodie http://www.megaupload.com/?d=HGDRBI1G Skyfire vs. Albright is pretty good. I still can't understand why they think Albright needs more time in OVW. He's not going to benefit much more from that environment. Al Snow's promo on Simon Dean is great. It is one of the better promos I've seen in a while. Deuce & Domino vs. Gaspard & Neighborhoodie is awful. Hoodie looked lost in the ring. Awful stuff. Danville_Wrestling 0 Report post Posted July 10, 2006 Yea, Skyfire-Albright is a good match. I gave it a good rating for the report I had to do on another site. I also do not see why Albright needs more work in OVW but that's WWE management for you. By the way, I'll be handling the OVW TV Reports for the next month and a half at least at wrestling.insidepulse.com in case anyone wanted to know.

Alro 0 Report post Posted July 16, 2006 Here is about half of this weekend's OVW show. I'll post the rest when I get a chance to cap it. CM Punk vs. Seth Skyfire II For the OVW Title http://www.megaupload.com/?d=UPQT101O Deuce & Domino vs. Pat Buck & Shawn Spears http://www.megaupload.com/?d=HEMXML6Y TJ Dalton vs. Charles "The Hammer" Evans http://www.megaupload.com/?d=EEB9Z0V7 Punk/Skyfire II is better than their first match. It gets very fast paced near the end and it has a pretty good finish. The other two matches, especially Dalton/Evans, are just squashes. Deuce & Domino do debut a sick looking finisher, though.
