Mik 0 Report post Posted June 28, 2005 Thought it was pretty funny. The thing that stood out the most to me is Stewie getting on Brian for the novel. At the time I found it rather amusing, but I tried to repeat it to my girlfriend today when she was reading and I couldn't get through one sentence without busting out in laughter. Got a protagonist, yeah? You'll need one of those. Beginning, middle, and end? Yeah... And on, and on, and on. Just hilarious. And overall, I thought it was a pretty funny episode. Placebo Effect 0 Report post Posted June 28, 2005 One of the best episodes of the season. It's hard to beat the HindenPeter, and I don't think any episode will for a while.
BorneAgain 0 Report post Posted June 28, 2005 Two things got me in this one. First the Jesus scene with the Bachlorette. (paraphrasing) Bacholer: I just want to shout out to one of my friends. *to camera* Hey Jesus! Jesus: (at home) Hey, cool! *Phone rings and he picks it up* Yeah, I saw it. Wasn't that awesome? And the Animal House reference with the creepy old man on the ladder looking at the shirtless Chris. I was dying for the rest of the episode after that. Angelus 0 Report post Posted June 28, 2005 The best part for me was the diner, with the Bachlorette and the Griffins
Ripper 0 Report post Posted June 28, 2005 Stewie's voice progressively getting higher when talking about the novel had me rolling. Damn fine episode all together.
Slayer 0 Report post Posted June 28, 2005 I thought about making a thread after the show, but this episode crossed the "WTF?" line for me. The long dragged out bit at the end with Stewie and Brian on the couch had me groaning.
nl5xsk1 0 Report post Posted June 28, 2005 I don't think any show on TV polarizes people as much as FG. Some people love it, some people hate it. Some parts that people say crack them up leave other people groaning. Personally, I try watching it each week and just don't find it consistently funny ... some parts are Ok, but some parts just seem like they're weird for the sake of being weird, if that makes sense. Slayer 0 Report post Posted June 28, 2005 I don't think any show on TV polarizes people as much as FG. Some people love it, some people hate it. Not so much the entire show polarizes, but just this new season. I have the two box sets and still watch episodes from the first three seasons on Adult Swim, but the new season has left me scratching my head. The first two episodes since coming back (Passion 2 and Chris' teacher) were great episodes in the vein of the classic FG, but the blindness episode began a roll downhill that got steeper with each following episode until Sunday's episode had me throwing my hands in the air and saying "I don't know..." Ripper 0 Report post Posted June 28, 2005 I don't get it, cause this sundays was hilarious. The old man, the wheelchair guy saying spit in my mouth, peter tieing down Cleveland and stripping him down, Peter having his convo with Joe when he accidentally and once again, the Stewie fucking with Brian about the novel all had me laughing out loud. Guest El Satanico Report post Posted June 28, 2005 I found it funny that Chris's name is Chris Cross Griffin. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> But are you laughing for the right reason? It's Christopher Cross the singer, not those kids with the backwards clothes.
DrVenkman PhD 0 Report post Posted June 28, 2005 John Erwin, people! Sure, He-Man appearing wasn't a joke, but using original VA's is always cool for a random cameo of insanity, even with the lack of an actual punchline. Also Chris' "I'm in no mood!" to the monkey was pretty good.
Nighthawk 0 Report post Posted June 28, 2005 The long dragged out bit at the end with Stewie and Brian on the couch had me groaning. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> See, when they started doing it, I said "Ah shit, we're in a long sit with some stupid shit." But they just went on far enough that I laughed at it. A shit joke, left long enough that it becomes funny. That's what this show does better than anyone. For example, The Kiss Seen Round The World (with the exception of "Hugh Downs AWAAAAAAAAY!") is nowhere near as funny as say, To Live And Die In Dixie. I liked this episode much better than the last two. Don't see what everyone found so funny about the Hindenpeter and Quagmire's shtick gets old after a while. Same with Stewie's "World Domination" thing that they really focused on a lot at the beginning of the series, but I enjoy the Brian-Stewie bickering a lot more. The Jake and the Fat Man skit had me laughing my ass off, too.
MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted June 29, 2005 I wish I knew someone that was an aspiring author, Id try to do that to them. The funniest bit I thought was Stephen Hawking saying he wanted to spit in Brooke's mouth, but I guess this was only funny to me sinceOpie and Anthony had the Pornstar Friday spitting in Jim Norton's mouth on Friday's show (and O&A played the clip from FG again and had a laugh as well about it). Ted the Poster 0 Report post Posted June 29, 2005 I still contend that "My daughter would abosolutely love you" is one of the funniest, if not the funniest lines in FG's history.
Guest Fook Report post Posted June 29, 2005 The best line in Family Guy history is as follows: Woman: Glenn honey, I have a question for you. What do you do for a living? Quagmire: Hey I have a question for you too! Why are you still here?
Downhome 0 Report post Posted June 29, 2005 My favorite is: Peter: I'll handle it, Lois. I read a book about this sort of thing once. Brian: Are you sure it was a book? Are you sure it wasn't...nothing? Peter: Oh yeah.

Art Sandusky 0 Report post Posted June 29, 2005 Bullshit, it's "this is worse than that time I forgot to sit down!" followed by flinging himself at the chair, causing a calamitous and comedic crash.
Nighthawk 0 Report post Posted June 29, 2005 Well, yeah, but you need the sight gag as well as the line for that.
Guest Olympic Slam Report post Posted June 29, 2005 2nd best of the new episodes after the one where Brian becomes a teacher. The old one's are still waaaaaaaay better. I mean, Chris and an evil zit? What the gay? Oh well, still better than Stella. I'm convinced hell is nothing more than being trapped in an infinite elevator with those three morons as they peform their "quirky antics." Candidate for best line ever was: "A plan so brillaint my head would explode if I even began to know what I was talking about."
Adam 0 Report post Posted June 30, 2005 Bullshit, it's "this is worse than that time I forgot to sit down!" followed by flinging himself at the chair, causing a calamitous and comedic crash. Absolutely, I still laugh when I see that. Best FG joke ever. I really liked Stewie's rants about Brian's book, and the ep was pretty good in general. I don't think anything could beat the first episode, because looking back on it they obviously just had so many jokes to get out, they splurged completely on the first episode. Downhome 0 Report post Posted June 30, 2005 I was up late last night so I thought I'd check out Adult Swim, and of course Family Guy was on. I was pleased to see that they are pushing hard for their viewers to watch the new episodes of Family Guy, as well as pushing the upcoming straight-to-DVD Family Guy movie, and it doesn't even come out untill September. Jericholic82 0 Report post Posted July 1, 2005 Was I the only one who thought Frankenberry being one of the bachelors was funny as hell? plus his comment of count chocula only being there cuz he was a minority. It just was so out of left field that I found it completely LMFAO AND ROTFL funny.

It just was so out of left field that I found it completely LMFAO AND ROTFL funny. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No... I also busted a gut at that. But the two parts that did it for me... Quagmire drugging his date in the hot tub, taking her to his hotel room and then finally remembering the cameras are still watching him. And when they are at his mom's house... "MOM!! You're gonna have to change your tone if you want this threesome to happen!"
PLAGIARISM! 0 Report post Posted July 1, 2005 Got it off the net, and I thought this was the least good of the season, I agree that the HindenPeter will be a hard one to top, but only the novel and Brian's comment about Chevy Chase really stood out. Still been a great series, glad to see they're firmly on track.
