UMD movie sales suck and are getting drastically cut back:

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/thr/film/...t_id=1002274591

Even Sony is going to nearly abandon them. Expect braindead comedies that fit the "demographic" to be about all will be released for it.

iPod Video probably is the most to blame, but the glut of UMD movies with weak extras honestly didn't seem to be a particularly good idea in the first place.

They certainly are overestimating the possibility to connect it up to a TV for playback...

Because you could just BUY THE CHEAPER DVD VERSION AND PLAY THAT INSTEAD!

"No one's watching movies on PSP," said the president of one of the six major studios' home entertainment divisions. "It's a game player, period."

However, I wonder why the heck the big W has yet to be featured in a Smash Bros. game.

He has more games (as in starring role, not just featured like Mario Kart) than Yoshi (and way more good games, Wario World aside), and could easily have a very distinctive fighting style.

Well, from what I hear, he is one of the chracters that is very popular in the voting for the Nintendo Revolution version of Smash Bros. Him and Toad.

Speculation is that if Wario makes it in, so would Waluigi.

I also heard that Kid Icrius might be in the game as well. That would be kind of intresting. Make him a hybird of Link and Neo maybe?

He has a name! It's Pit! :P

Anyway, he's a bit obscure...but if he has a unique style may as well go for it.

Plus, an idea of what we might see for Wario (Mugened and way too damn big, but the attacks are worthy of note):

Blame people using homebrew software?

Did anyone buy those WWE UMD movies? I've wondered if they were like the VHS releases, just the feature, no extra matches.

I am completely burnt out on The Godfather and I am selling it on ebay. It is a great game but just too much repetition. You have to do the same things over and over and over again to become don. Fuck that.

Finally got my copy of Beatmania today. I was a fan when my local Golfland still had it so I'm pretty stoked about having it and playing it. The most interesting thing about it is the entire keyboard section of the peripheral is a faceplate that can be detached and turned around, putting the turntable on the right side. It's pretty spiffy if you prefer playing 2P side, or busting out a second Beatmania controller and playing true doubles mode. My friend at GameCrazy did that I we had a blast even though keeping tabs on 14 keys and two turntables is insanely hard.

And Little Mac--he was meant for this franchise. What I'm hoping for in the next installment is to have less characters be clones of one another.

I don't really mind the "clones" in SSB:M. They all play differently. Gannondorf plays waaay different then Falcon, and is a walking juggernaut. Fox and...uh... I've never been a Star Fox fan...but...uh..Falco! Play differently too. Luigi roxxorz too.

Ideally, if the Revolution could handle it, I'd like to see six fighters on screen, and atleast ten more people. Wario HAS to be in, he shoulda made SSB:M, damnit.

Just as long as Mr. Game And Watch is still in it I'm cool with whoever they put in.

I rocked the party that rocks the body with "The Original Old School Soldier".

I want Tom Nook from Animal Crossing in it. I don't know how that would work, but it would be awesome.

He'd slap you with fish and throw turnips at you!

Couldn't Peach call Gimmick Infringement for that part though?

Just tell him a password, and everything is cool...

Isn't that the shifty fox fellow?

No. You go to Nook's store, and if you wanted to order something that isn't in the catalog or whatever, you had to give a password. So the idea is if you need a weapon in SSB, give Nook a password for the weapon, he will hand it to you while you blasted him away immediately.

I think he was referring to needing a password to get into Redd's tent in DS Animal Crossing.

I was trying to load up the TNA vs ROH save, but for some strange reason my PJ 64 1.6 doesn't read the .fla file I need to load the save no matter where I put it.

What am I doing wrong?

Having almost beaten it now I gotta say that Mega Man Maverick Hunter X for the PSP is great the fun game. Too short, but a damn good remake of the original Mega Man X. The graphics are amazing. And it has a playable demo of Mega Man powered up which seems really fun too so I need to get that next. I hope (but doubt) that they make a few more of these as I'd love a remake of Megaman X2 and 3.

I'm guessing you haven't beaten it once yet (not sure on that though), so I'll spoil something for you...

After you beat it once, you can play through again as Vile.

That should double the length a bit for you.

I would say that kid Icarus, er Pit, is no more or less obscure than Ness was for Earthbound.

The more characters the better for this game, sez I.

It's more fun than it is good.

First Rev screens on a launch FPS game from March issue of Game Informer. Link was stolen from DVDVR and sent to me.

holy crap, my blog has gotten 10,000 hits since i posted those scans. anyways, i just finished reading the actual article in game informer, and it says that the sword and guns can be twisted in your hand, by twisting the rev's remote. so you can shoot gangster style and block with the sword. also, there is split screen and online multiplayer planned, just no details yet. you can also jump over and take cover behind objects by moving the rev's remote towards a upturned table or a wall, and reload by pulling the remote back. by the way, they are ingame screenshots. this game is looking fucking hot as hell.

Sounds good. Looks good. I'd still like to play a demo.

Speaking of interactive objects, anyone really heard any buzz about this Real World Golf game? It's coming out next week, but I've only heard a few random things from the guys at GameStop.
