Smackdown VS Raw 2006

Recommended Posts

Just a thought, but I think the main thing keeping the rosters out of date, are those darn "Voice Overs" THQ claimed we all wanted so bad.

I'd assume they get those all done early, so by the time newcomers like MNM hit the scene, it's too late to add them, because they'd have to go through alot of hassle to record their voiceovers ETC.

But really... has there ever been a perfectly up to date roster in a WWE game? (not missing major talent/current champions etc?) This is about as good as can be expected.

HCTP was accurate to about right after Summerslam.

Don't know about SD v. RAW.

HCTP was accurate, but some of the attires were dated:

-Victoria still wore her pink debut attire from 2002, even though she had changed her attire mostly in 2003.

-Steven Richards wore blue shorts and had shorter hair from 2002 even though the in-game signs for him were meant for his pink attire and longer hair look.

-Jericho had his Wrestlemania X-8 attire from 2002 and never wore it much in 2003. Although they did get one of his newer attires/looks as an alternate attire (Jericho's long goatee/blue Hi-Lite Reel tights look that he had in 2003).

-Trish's "Stratusfaction" attire was already seen in the SYM, and wasn't wearing it at all in 2003.

-Randy Orton, despite being an Evolution member, still had the same attire from SYM instead of trunks after he joined Evolution.

-Goldberg was wearing black trunks instead of his split-shorts attire that he had for a while. The split-shorts sucked anyway, though.

As for some wrestlers/divas not in the game because of voiceovers: Some of the SVR wrestlers/divas didn't even have voiceovers in Season mode, and were still included. So even though WWE hasn't done much with Victoria this year, I'd still rather see her in the game than a released and useless diva like Joy Giovanni.

Can't we just edit out the released superstars anyway? I don't see what the hassle is in regards to that. Just change their appearance and moveset and BOOM! new roster.

I'll be interested to see what legends are in the game. I imagine Hogan, Bret, Snuka, old school Undertaker, masked Kane, and Piper are all locks (b/c Snuka & Piper always sneak into every game).

This game isn't being developed by AKI, so I wouldn't expect that.

I'm just annoyed that they couldn't put in MNM. that's a serious missing piece, as they're the ONLY reasonably over tag team in the company right now. take out Haas, Jindrak and Joy and replace them with MNM...it's not like the game has gone gold, don't tell me you guys can't work a bit more to add a few more models...I don't need no stinkin voices for them (Though the Melina entrance would be fun)

How the hell does Rosey get snubbed again (Not that I'm complaining that much, it's just a pain to get things realistic with CAWs), yet fucking Jindrak gets in? It makes absolutely no sense. Bitching aside, I'm glad Haas got in, although the lack of MNM is pretty lame.

IGN's Wrestler of the day thing has started... with The Undertaker

One thing I notice from the new videos, is that the commentary actually seems sorta interesting this time. Less mindless blabbering for sure....

EDIT: Torrie Wilson is today's WOTD

That article says the game is still being shipped in November. Methinks that either IGN doesn't know about the supposed "delay" or that the supposed delay is a bunch of bullshit [i'm going with the latter].

You cannot be serious.

No, wait, you are.

Never mind.

As for the non-roster wrestlers, the CAW formulas will be coming out shortly after release, so be patient.

God only knows there are tons of moves that should be in the game, but aren't. They got it right in HCTP when they inlcuded the Ki Krusher 99, now they need to put in the Tidal Crush. Yes, I am a Low-Ki mark... sue me.

Jerry Lynn's cradle piledriver should be in, too. Hell, I'm sure we here could comile a list of moves that should be in any wrestling game, not just the WWE-made product.

I don't understand why after three arm drops it's a KO instead of a submission. Does that make sense to anyone else?

Actually, it does.

Technically, a submission requires a wrestler quitting, and a wrestler doesn't quit when they do the arm drops. He passes out.

Passing out = KO.

That always happens, especially when he can;t get over or more importantly, when he is misused by the E. The only one who had blue chip status and had to work his ass off to get the fans' respect and admiration (and succeed) was The Rock. Jindrak has a huge amount of ability, but you know as well as I that talent alone isn;t going to cut it in that place... in TNA, perhaps.

Jindrak and O'Haire were a good tag team in WCW... But stats wise, aside from a nip and tuck, its pretty much right on.

AKI only let you edit appearances. Yukes let you edit the moves. Neither one let you edit both (you'd have to clone a guy to a CAW spot in the AKI games).

Today's IGN Wrestler of the day: Michelle McCool

I'm not even too sure who she is.

The chick from the last Diva search who actually wants to wrestle and didn't do too badly--as green as she was--when she was on SD.

That is a bad rendered pic, though. She looks like Lena in Clonus...after getting lobotomized.

OMGZORS IT'S MARK JINDRAK, greatest addition to the roster ever!!

Okay serious, why is his overall 78? He that good?

You should be happy he isn't an 81 like in SVR

So that shitty stat system is still in place, I take it?

Did you expect anything less, Andrew? Remember, while it would be better to make a system based off of 100s, I don;t even get upset by it anymore.

Its dumbed down for those who buy the majority of copies: The average to above-average wrestling fan.
