k thx Posted September 18, 2005 Report Posted September 18, 2005 So far as I know, you don't need to license music for use on TV. Hence why it's missing from products they sell such as DVDs and Games.
Rendclaw Posted September 18, 2005 Report Posted September 18, 2005 Not that I blame Kid Rock in this, how many times have we heard the E trying to get music for their entrances/games on the cheap? That's why we see more bands we have never heard of having their music in their games, like Core. Actually that song "The Angle" isn't that bad. Breaking Benjamin prolly did it for the cash grab, as they were already on their way up.
HollywoodSpikeJenkins Posted September 18, 2005 Report Posted September 18, 2005 They should just offer Kid Rock a spot in the game. Like with Fred Durst. Wasn't it fun to beat the crap out of Fred Durst?
Silence Posted September 18, 2005 Report Posted September 18, 2005 They should just offer Kid Rock a spot in the game. Like with Fred Durst. Wasn't it fun to beat the crap out of Fred Durst? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If anyone wanted to do that, they'd just create him and then beat the crap out of him. I wouldn't want an egotistical, no-talent, rap-metal whore with a red cap taking a roster spot in a video game away from a wrestler who deserves it more once again.
Rendclaw Posted September 18, 2005 Report Posted September 18, 2005 I have to admit, I really enjoyed beating the holy hell out of him in SYM.... it was even more fun when myself and two friends did so via multitap.. I think we spent like 45 minutes setting up spots to brutalize the fucker...

I think we spent like 45 minutes setting up spots to brutalize the fucker... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Fred Durst was actually in JBI. I never bought the game, though, because I read that there wasn't much improvement done to it from the previous two games. I did buy SYM and HCTP a while back, though, because I thought both of them were improvements in the Smackdown video game series over the previous three games.
Team Angle Pusher Posted September 20, 2005 Report Posted September 20, 2005 Wow Snitsky is looking awesome, that music theme is the shit. This game is looking better and better by the day. Shame Snitsky isn't doing the tounge thing in his entrance but meh, what he does now is fine as well. I was thinking about starting with Rob Conway or Muhammad Hassan but Snitsky is very interesting to play with as well. Only thing I don't like bout Snitsky is 1) his finisher but I'll change that and 2) his post-match victory thingy
AndrewTS Posted September 20, 2005 Report Posted September 20, 2005 I'll take the Jimmy Hartish instrumental ripoff over any Kid Rock song, or, even worse, Stacy's WWE originals song. However, it's annoying how the lazy, thrown-together non-licensed themes never match up with the entrances. From Ric's 92 theme, to Edge's "You Think You Know Me" and so on, there's no synching up whatsoever with the videos or entrance.
PsychoDriver Posted September 20, 2005 Report Posted September 20, 2005 Wrestler of the day: Spike Dudley w/ beard! http://ps2.ign.com/articles/652/652171p1.html Re-animated Acid Drop too
DrVenkman PhD Posted September 20, 2005 Report Posted September 20, 2005 Let me know if and when IGN ever bothers to confirm "Legends Cage" as the blue bars.
Use Your Illusion Posted September 21, 2005 Report Posted September 21, 2005 How the hell did they fill a whole moveset for Gene Snitsky?
Guest Fishyswa Posted September 21, 2005 Report Posted September 21, 2005 Was watching one of the Spike vids and noticed something... During the back drop off the top, it seemed like the impact was seperate from the move, like the powerbomb 7 you can use to throw people out of the ring. If they made table collisions better, than you can probably put a table there and put the guy through it. Hopefully. I've been wanting better table collision for 3 games now and still haven't gotten it.
haws bah gawd Posted September 21, 2005 Report Posted September 21, 2005 How the hell did they fill a whole moveset for Gene Snitsky? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> They probably just gave him the same punch and kick grapple and russian legsweep moveset combination that every other HAWS wrestler in the game has.
Silence Posted September 21, 2005 Report Posted September 21, 2005 They probably just gave him the same punch and kick grapple and russian legsweep moveset combination that every other HAWS wrestler in the game has.<{POST_SNAPBACK}> Remember when Yukes gave Batista in HCTP a russian legsweep, a full-nelson facebuster (Jericho's "Breakdown" finisher at one time in WWE when he was struggling to come up with a more credible finishing move that WWE would allow him to use than the stale Lionsault or the weak Walls of Jericho), and a hammerlock back suplex?
PsychoDriver Posted September 22, 2005 Report Posted September 22, 2005 Wrestler of the day.... the one we've all been waiting for too.... DANNY BASHAM! http://ps2.ign.com/articles/652/652505p1.html

I would shit myself if I saw Dave bust out one of those.
Use Your Illusion Posted September 22, 2005 Report Posted September 22, 2005 I hope they actually, y'know, research some of the legends properly this time and give them correct movesets. I had Bret Hart fucking wrestling like Rey Mysterio in SVR.
Rendclaw Posted September 22, 2005 Report Posted September 22, 2005 I was about to say the same thing. If you give the wrestlers the right settings and the moveset to back it up, they;re almost unstoppable. I'm not even finished raising up my Samoa Joe CAW and he is already pretty devastating.
Exslade ZX Posted September 22, 2005 Report Posted September 22, 2005 I hope they actually, y'know, research some of the legends properly this time and give them correct movesets. I had Bret Hart fucking wrestling like Rey Mysterio in SVR. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well with editable movesets...there's no need to. Is it lazy? Yea, but so what, at least they give you the option to change.
PsychoDriver Posted September 22, 2005 Report Posted September 22, 2005 Wrestler of the day: HBK! http://ps2.ign.com/articles/652/652806p1.html First look at Chris Masters as well.
Da Maintenance Man Posted September 22, 2005 Report Posted September 22, 2005 Damn it. I was hoping they'd give HBK a new SCM...that annoying ass dance needs to go...
DrVenkman PhD Posted September 23, 2005 Report Posted September 23, 2005 Since when does Masters wear blue/purple tights?
Rendclaw Posted September 23, 2005 Report Posted September 23, 2005 his rating is 90... that means Trips is going to be at least 93-95.
Guest TheDon Posted September 23, 2005 Report Posted September 23, 2005 I see that they are overrating wrestlers again. Snitsky was given what an 81. Jesus talk about inflation.
Team Angle Pusher Posted September 23, 2005 Report Posted September 23, 2005 Spike is 79, Danny 80, wtf. Danny is on RAW so they don't start at WrestleMania last year or something weird like that, they actually updated the rosters. Wow HBK looks damn good and did anyone else notice that HBK got booed when he walked to the ring? Yay, Heel HBK, which means you'll probably feud with Hulk Hogan when you are HBK and vice versa. Oh and cool to see Chris Masters, I bet he's the next wrestler of the day.
dubq Posted September 23, 2005 Report Posted September 23, 2005 I'm assuming Hogan will be a legend. If so, I hope it's "now" Hogan and not 80's Hogan. I also hope that you can use Legends in season mode again like in HCTP. I don't see a problem with voiceovers - they can just use subtitles instead. X-Men Legends I & II did it and it didn't seem to make a huge difference in continuity.
Aero Posted September 23, 2005 Report Posted September 23, 2005 I see they went the lazy route and gave HBK the same attire as the last game... nevermind that HBK has been wearing the baggy pants since WM. Other than that, he looks great.
Ripper Posted September 23, 2005 Report Posted September 23, 2005 Um. Wrong thread... GO WRESTLING OR SOMETHING....
Silence Posted September 23, 2005 Report Posted September 23, 2005 Since when does Masters wear blue/purple tights? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Once again, more lazy programming from Yukes with the color scheme fuck-ups on wrestler attires. THIS is why edit-a-wrestler needs to be included in the Smackdown series BADLY at this point.
