Guest Fook Posted July 9, 2005 Report Posted July 9, 2005 http://www.bobhollyacademy.com/ What would Holly teach? How to bully the younger wrestlers?
Jericholic82 Posted July 9, 2005 Report Posted July 9, 2005 He can teach how to stay employed for over a decade, despite having little to no discernible talent or charsima(save for his "big shot" days in 99)and numerous bad gimmicks being pushed on you, but somehow still be over with the crowd.

haVoc Posted July 9, 2005 Report Posted July 9, 2005 Canned Smackdown heat and getting the the first "big" name pop on Velocity is being over?
Guest *KNK* Posted July 9, 2005 Report Posted July 9, 2005 Canned Smackdown heat and getting the the first "big" name pop on Velocity is being over? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes when you factor in the legit overness he has on damn near every house show. Smarks just won't accept it.
Vampiro69 Posted July 9, 2005 Report Posted July 9, 2005 Well he was over huge in Grand Forks, North Dakota for a KOTR qualifying match againt Kurt Angle. Granted that was June of 2001.
RavishingRickRudo Posted July 9, 2005 Report Posted July 9, 2005 The nutritionist spin is nifty. Though a pharmacist would be more appropriate for wrestling.

The Mandarin Posted July 9, 2005 Report Posted July 9, 2005 At a time when too much of the world thinks the typical American is just a bitter, witless bully who abuses his position because he can, it's important that they get to see another side. I think Bob Holly is the antidote. I think Bob Holly is freedom.

Hardcore Holly has been getting great pops ever since his feud with Lesnar.
Si82 Posted July 9, 2005 Report Posted July 9, 2005 She is great at making sure I am eating enough calories when I need them or helping me stick to a diet, so I can lean out before a photo shoot or main event. What main events?
SuperJerk Posted July 9, 2005 Report Posted July 9, 2005 The nutritionist spin is nifty. Though a pharmacist would be more appropriate for wrestling. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thanks for making me spray Pepsi out of my nose.
King Cucaracha Posted July 9, 2005 Report Posted July 9, 2005 She is great at making sure I am eating enough calories when I need them or helping me stick to a diet, so I can lean out before a photo shoot or main event. What main events? He's in the main event all the time... ...on Velocity. He is surprisingly popular though. Probably because the WWE lets him give off the badass vibe, even if it is through taking Puder to Chop School.
Art Sandusky Posted July 9, 2005 Report Posted July 9, 2005 I'll never understand it, but the dude really is over, and has been over the years at any live event I've attended. At a time when too much of the world thinks the typical American is just a bitter, witless bully who abuses his position because he can, it's important that they get to see another side. I think Bob Holly is the antidote. I think Bob Holly is freedom. I think Bob Holly should be the new slang term for pot.
The C Man Posted July 9, 2005 Report Posted July 9, 2005 I think half the reason Holly's got pops as big as he does is because the people actually recognise him because he's been around so long. They don't know who someone like Rene Dupree is but they know Holly becuase they've had over 10 years to learn his name.
natey2k4 Posted July 9, 2005 Report Posted July 9, 2005 As much as Holly is over, Billy Gunn was just as over as Holly was. Billy Gunn got bigger pops than John Cena, Rey Mysterio, The Dudleyz and even Rob Van Dam at the house show I attentended last year. The crowd just wents nuts for Gunn, and like.. swarmed the ring. Thus meaning, I hope Holly is opening this school up cause he knows he's getting canned.

Jericholic82 Posted July 9, 2005 Report Posted July 9, 2005 Also remember that a percentage of the audience, perhaps a large percentage are ones who became fans during the attitude era of 98/99 (sure alot jumped off the bandwagon, but there are alot still on who became diehards), during which Gunn Was higly popular and spotlighted, as was Holly(back in 99). I have seen it live as well, at a SD taping in 8/01 Both Gunn (heat match vs Rhyno and Holly (in a tag match with crash) were hugely over and I thought to myself "and the net wonders why they don't can these guys" (of course gunn finally went last year) Don't know if they'll fire Bob, but I would think not, as he probably isn't making that much money and is still over enough to use.

Hell, I heard Vis and Mideon get a massive pop when they were the Ministry of Comic Book Sales and they were *HEELS* during a Heat taping.

We aren't the only state that sadly cheers the guy. Remember that was 2001. I hope we have changed since then.

If that were going to happen it would have already been done. You don't get 12 years under your belt with the WWE because you have nothing to offer them. Seems to me that Vince simply says........... IF IT AIN'T BROKE DON'T FIX IT !!!
JJ Johnson Posted July 10, 2005 Report Posted July 10, 2005 I think Bob Holly should be the new slang term for pot. It's a new kind of pot. It's hardest on people trying it for the first time.
Lord of The Curry Posted July 10, 2005 Report Posted July 10, 2005 A bong hit that whopped your ass would be considered a Holly.
WrestlingFan4Ever Posted July 11, 2005 Report Posted July 11, 2005 To those who say he's not over and gets that "big name" pop on Velocity, go and watch Judgment Day 05. He is OVER with the crowd.

And no, it wasn't the first match, I think it was the final match before intermission, so about the 6th match. And the crowd LOVED HIM more than Cena and Angle who appeared first. So, the name pop, wasn't true for that. The crowd swamped the ring for Billy Gunn.. people were jumping from the crowd seats *not the floor seats) to get onto the floor and touch Billy Gunn's hand. That's how over he was.

When these were tagging together was the best! And yes I agree with "wrestlingfan4ever" Judgement day 05 is a good example.................no canned pops there.............That crowd went wild when he came out and was chanting his name through the whole match..........HE IS OVER WITH THE CROWD......................WWE just doesn't USE it
