Why would you criticize the largely nonsensical lyrics on "Buddy Holly" when you've got a fat stack of power chords, tons of little hooks in the background, and fantastic fucking handclaps all throughout?

Hookshookshookshookshookshooks!!!!

And no, I can't get excited about power chords like I used to anymore.

I would defend the merits of Weezer's first album, which I think is fantastic, along with the faithful, but now that the amount of crap Weezer has released officially outnumbers the good, I am less apt to rush to their defense.

Absolutely Buddy Holly, died too young.

Jeff Buckley's 'Grace' was an amazing album but I don't know if he could have improved on it. I have 'Poem's For My Sweetheart The Drunk' and although unfinished, what I heard lacked something that was in 'Grace'

Lyrics generally don't mean anything unless the person who's singing cannot write interesting music. Notable exceptions are guys like Morrissey, Jim Morrison or Michael Stipe. The Beach Boys hardly ever had interesting lyrics, it doesnt mean that they weren't one of the best bands ever.
