OK, so I'm watching Tucker's new show on MSNBC (don't know how many of you have been following this) and I'm asking myself the following:

1. Who the fuck thought it was a good idea to make a political version of PTI? The entire format is the same, including endless shouting, scrolling topics bar on the side, and some retarded version of "Stat Boy" for the show wrapup at the end.

2. Who the fuck thought it was a good idea to make MAX KELLERMAN a permanent fixture on a political talk show? Although I'm amazed he can go 10 minutes without talking about boxing or the Yankees once.

3. I really hope this chick from Air America doesn't end up being Tucker's regular "liberal guest" for the main segment. He had himself as the conservative, the very good Dan Abrams as a centrist guest, and the other person whose name I forgot that was just obnoxious as the liberal. Maybe this is Tucker's way of getting "revenge" for being used as a conservative punching bag on Crossfire?

I might watch this again, but if I ever see Wilbon or Kornheiser I'm done.

Max Kellerman on a political show? Geez, just gives me ANOTHER reason not to watch the cruddy product being released by MSNBC.

Also, Dan Abrams is very good? That's news to me. Everytime I tune in to his show he just looks awkward in front of the camea and seems to have no idea when things are going on (ex. Michael Jackson case when he was on location and was interviewing for people and didn't know who to turn to next). However, sometimes I watch his show simply for the "train wreck" appeal.

I like "The Abrams Report". Rather than having a PTI-style shouting match between all his guests he lets each of them speak and will ask all of them some tough questions. It's one of the few watchable poli-talk shows right now.

Whatever happened to the good old days when TV news channels were devoted to actual news coverage, rather than handing out talk shows to over-opinionated political hacks?

I'd love to see one cable news show where the host was just trying to educate the public about multiple sides of the issue, rather than pushing an agenda.

Pretty sad that only thing any of the networks have done that's even remotely close to that is Larry King.

Educational TV? That's just crazy talk.
