CanadianChris Posted August 27, 2005 Report Posted August 27, 2005 No, it was always set for that date...I may need to move it back another week, as I may be heading down to Toronto that weekend.
CanadianChris Posted August 29, 2005 Report Posted August 29, 2005 Just to keep the thread moving...the Penguins signed Dick Tarnstrom to a one-year deal.
Fartsauce Posted August 30, 2005 Report Posted August 30, 2005 If any announcements are made about the Roto league shoot me a private message. I'm only on the computer a few minutes a day now due to work.
MrRant Posted August 30, 2005 Report Posted August 30, 2005 Mike Emerick announced as lead PBP man on OLN - http://nhl.com/news/2005/08/233794.html
CanadianChris Posted August 31, 2005 Report Posted August 31, 2005 Dunno if anyone south of the border heard about this show, but CBC had a reality show last season called Making The Cut. They had over 4,000 people apply to compete for one spot in each of the six Canadian NHL teams' training camp. There's a story at tsn.ca/hockey on the six winners. I doubt more than two of them will even crack the minor league roster, but it's a fun little story. In other news, Hal Gill accepted his qualifying offer with the Bruins, and Karel Pilar of the Leafs will miss 2-3 months with a heart condition.
nl5xsk1 Posted August 31, 2005 Report Posted August 31, 2005 How long must the Hal Gill era last?!? The guy sucks offensively and is average at best defensively. He's still coasting by on a mis-quote from Jaromir Jagr from like 6 years ago ... ugh, c'mon B's, just trade him the fuck away already.
Red Baron Posted August 31, 2005 Report Posted August 31, 2005 I think thats the reason why Gill is stuck in Boston. No one wants him.
the max Posted August 31, 2005 Report Posted August 31, 2005 I bet Bobby Clarke would like to have him. He fits Clarke's criteria: 1- Big (Gill is 6'7", 250) 2- Lumbering (Gill's weakness is skating) 3- Defenseman
the max Posted September 1, 2005 Report Posted September 1, 2005 http://tsn.ca/nhl/news_story.asp?id=135151 The Crapitals signed Ovechkin to his entry level contract.
Guest Rrrsh Posted September 1, 2005 Report Posted September 1, 2005 Canucks sign Ruuto to a 1year deal wth 600 K. Matt Cooke is the only Restricted FA the Canucks want and have not signed.
Dr. Tyler; Captain America Posted September 2, 2005 Report Posted September 2, 2005 Ryan Malone resigned with the Penguins.
CanadianChris Posted September 2, 2005 Report Posted September 2, 2005 Ryan Malone resigned with the Penguins. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well, we're officially desperate for news now.
the max Posted September 2, 2005 Report Posted September 2, 2005 Something else has to happen before camps open. Like a big trade or a huge release or something.
Guest Rrrsh Posted September 2, 2005 Report Posted September 2, 2005 Brent Johnson also signed with the Canucks. Him and Alex Auld will battle for backup.
nl5xsk1 Posted September 2, 2005 Report Posted September 2, 2005 Both OLN & NBC allegedly released their TV schedules, Wednesday & yesterday (respectively) but it's like pulling teeth to find them. I know the B's are on NBC three times, and on OLN 6 (I think) but it's wicked difficult to find an all-encompassing list of games.

the max Posted September 2, 2005 Report Posted September 2, 2005 I like the OLN schedule. There are quite a few Penguins games, but that's to be expected with Crosby there. They have a good variety of teams.

I looked at nhl.com, oln.com, & nbc.com yesterday afternoon, and they had press releases with certain games referenced but didn't have the full schedules out. I'll peruse the schedules when work's not so crazy ...

CanadianGuitarist Posted September 2, 2005 Author Report Posted September 2, 2005 The Score is reporting Broduer says he is expecting Scott Stevens to retire.
nl5xsk1 Posted September 2, 2005 Report Posted September 2, 2005 It's not as newsworthy, but nl5xsk1 thinks Stevens is going to retire, too. EDIT: And after looking through the schedules, why does OLN think the B's/Caps is worthy of showing 3 times? And why do two B's/Thrashers games get national coverage?!?
stahl Posted September 2, 2005 Report Posted September 2, 2005 *edit* nevermind, TSN had their schedule up but took it down for some reason. *edit pt 2* TSN's schedule http://www.nhl.com/schedules/tsn_sked.html
The Czech Republic Posted September 2, 2005 Report Posted September 2, 2005 And why do two B's/Thrashers games get national coverage?!? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Dunno. Now Dany Heatley trying to drive through Boston while drunk, that might have some action.
nl5xsk1 Posted September 2, 2005 Report Posted September 2, 2005 Massachusetts has a plague with drunk driving hockey players ... besides the obvious MacTavish killing that woman on Rt 1, Marty Lapointe rolled his car a few seasons ago, right on main street in Andover. The police literally shut down the road on both sides and had his car towed away, wiping the whole thing under the rug.
Red Baron Posted September 2, 2005 Report Posted September 2, 2005 Atlanta signed Goalie Mike Dunham to a 1 year deal worth 750k Pittsburgh signed Lyle Odelien according to the Toronto Star, Ted Saskin contract is upsetting some players in the PA. Apparently he got the job though not the whole commitee did not agree or even had a say that he should be president of the NHLPA.
the max Posted September 2, 2005 Report Posted September 2, 2005 And why do two B's/Thrashers games get national coverage?!? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Dunno. Now Dany Heatley trying to drive through Boston while drunk, that might have some action. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Might help if he still played for the Thrashers though, right?
nl5xsk1 Posted September 2, 2005 Report Posted September 2, 2005 And why do two B's/Thrashers games get national coverage?!? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Dunno. Now Dany Heatley trying to drive through Boston while drunk, that might have some action. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Might help if he still played for the Thrashers though, right? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Maybe the Hossa/Heatley deal was just the first part of a 3-way, Max, and now the B's will ship Joe T up to Ottawa for Heatley, and Czech knew about that and just wasn't supposed to say anything but slipped. Man, I hope not.
the max Posted September 2, 2005 Report Posted September 2, 2005 MOC wouldn't make that deal, since he already seemingly refused Joe for Heatley straight up. MOC shouldn't make the deal anyway, since it'd be sending Joe to a divsion rival.
CanadianGuitarist Posted September 3, 2005 Author Report Posted September 3, 2005 Theodore signs with the Habs. Theodore signs with the Habs. Theodore signs with the Habs. I can sleep tonight. They could have signed fucking Jarome Iginla, I'd have had no faith in em. Theodore is the heart and soul of that team.
Guest Rrrsh Posted September 3, 2005 Report Posted September 3, 2005 Brutal that the National Audience can only see Vancouver once. It will be a good game tho, vs the Stars in March.
