Dobbs 3K Posted October 2, 2007 Report Posted October 2, 2007 http://www.mercerforpresident2008.com/c14f...8d03f47b3d67dd5 Well, he makes more sense than most of the candidates out there. *drum roll*
Dobbs 3K Posted October 5, 2007 Report Posted October 5, 2007 Is that Old Man Thompson? Wow, and some people think McCain is too old?
Big Ol' Smitty Posted October 5, 2007 Report Posted October 5, 2007 McCain is older than Golf Cart Fred.
Big Ol' Smitty Posted October 5, 2007 Report Posted October 5, 2007 The cult of Ron Paul seems to be picking up lots of new members — and some serious money. The 72-year-old Republican presidential candidate — a conservative-libertarian congressman from Texas whose anti-war fundamentalism has attracted a broad youth following and Internet buzz — has been widely considered a long shot all year, with his campaign running on a shoestring budget and not much more than gumption. Or so it appeared until Wednesday, when Paul's team announced that it had raised about $5.1 million from July through September. That puts his total at more than $8 million for this year. That may seem like spare change compared to Democrat Hillary Clinton's $27 million third-quarter take, but it puts Paul in range of several other contenders: _ Democrat Bill Richardson and Republican John McCain estimated that they each had raised about as much as Paul did for the quarter. _ Democrat John Edwards reported raising about $7 million. _ Republican Fred Thompson is expected to report that he raised about $8 million — and he's running second to Rudy Giuliani in national polls. _ Democrats Joseph Biden and Christopher Dodd combined were expected to have less cash to show for the reporting period than Paul has raised. http://www.mcclatchydc.com/election2008/story/20200.html
snuffbox Posted October 5, 2007 Report Posted October 5, 2007 Too bad he can't extend his libertarianism to federal control of the womb.
bobobrazil1984 Posted October 9, 2007 Report Posted October 9, 2007 Dan Bartlett on the Republican nominees. Funny, but also fairly on the mark imo in terms of their political weaknesses. http://blog.washingtonpost.com/the-trail/2..._gop_field.html
Big Ol' Smitty Posted October 10, 2007 Report Posted October 10, 2007 Apparently Rudy was roundly booed at the Yankees game last night.
snuffbox Posted October 10, 2007 Report Posted October 10, 2007 New Yorkers don't care about the victims of 9-11.
Guest Ant Posted October 10, 2007 Report Posted October 10, 2007 Is it true the NY mayor is the best one the city has had in history?
Guest Ant Posted October 10, 2007 Report Posted October 10, 2007 Huh? Sorry i don't understand. Saw him in a press conference over here and he was getting nothing but rave reviews
gWIL Posted October 11, 2007 Report Posted October 11, 2007 Do you mean Rudy the former mayor or Bloomberg the current mayor? Because Bloomberg is extremely popular, Rudy got mainly mixed reviews.
Dobbs 3K Posted October 11, 2007 Report Posted October 11, 2007 Giuliani was popular after 9-11. Other than that, opinions on him were very mixed, like someone else stated here.
snuffbox Posted October 11, 2007 Report Posted October 11, 2007 I'm not sure the feelings in NYC were so high on him after 9-11, and especially the last few years with him milking all the deaths for whatever he can get.
NoCalMike Posted October 12, 2007 Report Posted October 12, 2007 Well it seems that Rudy can get away with talking about how much of a 9/11 hero he is when he isn't in NY. He is trying to sell that to picture to "middle america" yet whenever he is in NY, the people don't seem to buy it, and for good reason.
snuffbox Posted October 12, 2007 Report Posted October 12, 2007 Al Gore won the Nobel Prize. Hannity & Beck will devote plenty of news time to what plane he took to Switzerland.
Dobbs 3K Posted October 12, 2007 Report Posted October 12, 2007 And Al Gore isn't even running for president. I really think the entire GOP is scared to death of anyone connected to Bill Clinton.
Guest Gym Class Fallout Posted October 12, 2007 Report Posted October 12, 2007 Al Gore won the Nobel Prize. Hannity & Beck will devote plenty of news time to what plane he took to Switzerland. Al Gore isn't worth defending.
Big Ol' Smitty Posted October 12, 2007 Report Posted October 12, 2007 Al Gore won the Nobel Prize. Hannity & Beck will devote plenty of news time to what plane he took to Switzerland. Al Gore isn't worth defending. He's not tappin' the Beeze. Wait, wait...this just in. The Supreme Court of the United States has decided to take the Nobel Prize away and give it to George W. Bush. Sorry, Al. Maybe next time.
Guest Gym Class Fallout Posted October 15, 2007 Report Posted October 15, 2007 Wait a minute. He won the Peace Prize? I thought he won it in some other category. Well, that's a bit of a reach.
snuffbox Posted October 15, 2007 Report Posted October 15, 2007 I believe the reasoning was that 'global warming will lead to wars/Al Gore is trying to prevent future wars'.
snuffbox Posted October 16, 2007 Report Posted October 16, 2007 Barring a huge scandal she has the nomination. Obama just hasn't showed the desire to fight for it, and that is not something developed overnight.
Dobbs 3K Posted October 16, 2007 Report Posted October 16, 2007 Yeah, it's been bothersome how lacsidasical all the other Democrats campaigns have become. Maybe they're just assuming they have no chance and playing nice so they can maybe get the VP spot on the ticket.
NoCalMike Posted October 17, 2007 Report Posted October 17, 2007 Yeah, it's been bothersome how lacsidasical all the other Democrats campaigns have become. Maybe they're just assuming they have no chance and playing nice so they can maybe get the VP spot on the ticket. B-I-N-G-O. While Hillary is the front runner, there is plenty that the other candidates can challenge her on, but they seem very reserved in their criticism during debates. Almost like they know they will be run over by the giant ball of hungry critters better known as the Clinton Machine.
