Enigma Posted August 3, 2005 Report Posted August 3, 2005 The following was posted on Chris "Tatanka" Chavis' web site: "So I was just offered a WWE contract. Stay tuned as I lose those extra pounds and get back to the old Tatanka that you remember!"
Slickster Posted August 3, 2005 Report Posted August 3, 2005 Well, Tatanka did OK on RAW and people remember his gimmick, so it makes sense to pick him up. However, I'd get him a Legends deal while they're at it, because I doubt creative is going to find anything for him to do (like Gangrel).
Spaceman Spiff Posted August 3, 2005 Report Posted August 3, 2005 So, they cut a ton of talent that is young & have potential, and sign Johnny Ace's brother & a nostalgia act who's already 40. Gimme a fucking break. Good job WWE!

No one remembered who he was, he looked fat and out of shape and they just cut a bunch of guys who could do everything he does and more.
Team Angle Pusher Posted August 3, 2005 Report Posted August 3, 2005 This sucks. They don't sign Matt Striker after 3 good performances but Tatanka....oh my god. What will he do?
snuffbox Posted August 3, 2005 Report Posted August 3, 2005 I think they should release Shelton Benjamin to make some room for the One Man Gang.
Guest Frank_Nabbit Posted August 3, 2005 Report Posted August 3, 2005 Honestly... Tatankas Body looks better than Batistas Body. Batista is THE HERO of the WWE right now.. but how did he become a hero? I tell you what... there is no doupt, that Batista have talent.... but he is a pill swallowing maschine. Man, you cant look like Batista without taking some pills... So I prefere a Tatanka (who is for sure not 100% in Shape, but he isnt fat like some people said) than a Batista... who is full of drugs and will not be 40 years old. /Post from his board
cameron chaos Posted August 3, 2005 Report Posted August 3, 2005 He will end up released before too long much like Marty Janetty.
dubq Posted August 3, 2005 Report Posted August 3, 2005 Christ, there's a blast from the past that I could do without. His website lists him as 285lbs.. 6'2 and 285lbs? Jesus, he is out of shape. I missed Raw, can someone tell me if his gut is bigger than Animal's?
Silence Posted August 3, 2005 Report Posted August 3, 2005 WWE bringing in more older wrestlers that have nothing left to prove anymore...sounds just like WCW! Ugh. WWE has become hypocritical in the last few years considering they used to poke fun at WCW having older, broken-down wrestlers in the main-event scene/putting the spotlight on them over younger talent.
notJames Posted August 3, 2005 Report Posted August 3, 2005 Nostalgia should be a punishable offense. And not to the viewing audience.
RedJed Posted August 3, 2005 Report Posted August 3, 2005 I wouldnt expect him as a full time worker on the main shows. If anything he might be stuck on Heat most of the time, or it could very well be a contract much like a Jake Roberts or something, more like a legends contract.
Golgo 13 Posted August 3, 2005 Report Posted August 3, 2005 Hopefully this is just for the Legends program and the odd appearance, because there's no fucking reason why he should be signed otherwise.
ChrisMWaters Posted August 3, 2005 Report Posted August 3, 2005 Hopefully this is just for the Legends program and the odd appearance, because there's no fucking reason why he should be signed otherwise. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Make a tag team with someone to build up the tag division on Raw? EDIT: I always did feel he and Bam Bam should have been the tag champs for some reason.
AndrewTS Posted August 3, 2005 Report Posted August 3, 2005 He will end up released before too long much like Marty Janetty. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Jannetty might still be around if he didn't get into trouble.
Downhome Posted August 3, 2005 Report Posted August 3, 2005 If this is true, I doubt it's for an off-camera role simply because he's talking about getting back in shape. I know that the reaction he got wasn't amazing (to saw that no one knew who he was is retarded though, since more than just a few people in the crowed reacted like they knew who it was), but you must admit one thing, it nothing else. For someone who hasn't been a full time wrestler in almost a decade, and for someone who was pretty out of shape (it was horrible, I've seen people who have been gone for ten years look WAY worse), he was still able to hit his spots, move around very quickly, and still look like he knew what he was doing. When he went to the top rope, I expected him to totally screw up and get laughed out of the ring, but instead he landed a pretty solid shot. I was actually impressed by the time the match was over. Because when I first saw him come out, and noticed how out of shape he was, I only expected the absolute worst. Now let's watch Eugene start up some sort of "nostalgia" faction. They don't really do anything other than hang out with Eugene, and help him out in his time of need.

Downhome Posted August 3, 2005 Report Posted August 3, 2005 How can you not love how he ends his post with "HEEYEEYEEYEEYEEYEE HEE HEE HEE!"?
Downhome Posted August 3, 2005 Report Posted August 3, 2005 So...basically Eugene becomes a Final Fantasy character, and those nostalgia wrestlers are his summon cards? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> See, the creative wheels are already in motion.
TheFranchise Posted August 3, 2005 Report Posted August 3, 2005 Batista... who is full of drugs and will not be 40 years old. /Post from his board <{POST_SNAPBACK}> ...Is he not already 39?
Si82 Posted August 3, 2005 Report Posted August 3, 2005 Jesus Christ! For fucks sake when will this company understand that the need young wrestlers in order for them to have some kind of future. It really is becoming like WCW with a bunch of old wrestlers and bloody awful storylines.

He's about as smart as Cecil. Although I can picture HHH coming back in a red robe, shooting rays at the wrestlers and turning them into little rocks, and collecting them all for his own. He's already got Flair.
Downhome Posted August 3, 2005 Report Posted August 3, 2005 He could use Kane or Taker, if they weren't doing anything, since they already have magical powers.

Caliban Posted August 3, 2005 Report Posted August 3, 2005 This is really stupid. He sucked during his first run... bringing him back for one appearance on Raw is fun, but to sign him to a contract just shows how insane WWE are at the moment.
Guest jumpingbombangel Posted August 3, 2005 Report Posted August 3, 2005 I wish they'd convince (read: pay a shitload of money to) Macho Man to set aside his hate towards Hogan to come back. Man, what I wouldn't give to pop for Pomp and Circumstance again.
