Paul Stanley 0 Report post Posted August 5, 2005 So, just as im ready to pack my camping gear for this weekend's ozzfest, i read on 93x.com that they have postponed it until September 10th, which means...NO FUCKING IRON MAIDEN!!!! That's half of the reason i ever wanted to go, not cause of Sabbath, Mudvayne, etc. Maiden gets off the tour Aug. 20th, and then Velvet Revolver takes over. Bullshit. And Dickinson strongly opposes a U.S headline tour as of current.
Styles 0 Report post Posted August 5, 2005 That sucks, man. I hope you can get a refund since one of the advertised headliners will no longer be there.
snuffbox 0 Report post Posted August 5, 2005 Was the Alpine Valley show postponed too?
The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted August 5, 2005 Dunno. But I do know that Alpine Valley is in the early stages of death. Kinda sad, but meh.
Paul Stanley 0 Report post Posted August 6, 2005 Maiden, possibly not even Zombie will be on the Ozzfest on Sept. 10th Half of the swag tents will also not be there, so it will be Ozzfest 'lite' so to speak. Alpine Valley is getting the show..., it's just the curse of good concerts getting cancelled/postponed here in MN.
Rendclaw 0 Report post Posted August 6, 2005 Thats interesting, because I was at Ozzfest on thursday here in Michigan and Bruce was going on about how this wasn't really the true Maiden, and to see them in all their glory to come out to a show.. I think that he was tired of doing the Ozzfest thing which I can kind of understand, a band is only getting warmed up after an hour into their set... but they sounded great, even though I still think that Janick Gers needs to be shown the door, and go back to the classic lineup. He bring absolutely nothing to the table.
Guest BrokenWings Report post Posted August 6, 2005 I just heard of the postponing last night. A friend of mine is making the eight hour trip down to WI for the show, having not heard the news. I'm sure this will end hilariously.
snuffbox 0 Report post Posted August 6, 2005 Yeah, Alpine Valley is really on the downward spiral. They only had like 3 or 4 shows this year. Its a pretty nice place too but...fuck clearchannel.

Paul Stanley 0 Report post Posted August 8, 2005 Bands NOT appearing: Rob Zombie, Mudvayne, Mastodon, Killswitch Engage, and Shadows Fall & Iron Maiden
snuffbox 0 Report post Posted August 8, 2005 Christ...thats like half the lineup, and nearly every good band. Are they refunding some of the ticket price or adding anyone else?
Paul Stanley 0 Report post Posted August 8, 2005 Christ...thats like half the lineup, and nearly every good band. Are they refunding some of the ticket price or adding anyone else? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Refunds i don't know about, but the promoters said that they are in talks of adding new bands. They should just cancel the whole god damn show, Ozzfest didn't come around here last year (with Priest) anyway Sad thing, my money is now going towards a concert featuring REO Speedwagon & Styx
snuffbox 0 Report post Posted August 8, 2005 Dont Speedwagon and Styx tour together every year?
Paul Stanley 0 Report post Posted August 8, 2005 Dont Speedwagon and Styx tour together every year? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> They do. Tommorow night is also the 'Rock Never Stops' Tour featuring Cinderella & Ratt
snuffbox 0 Report post Posted August 8, 2005 Round and round...soon enough that tour come to the bar in your town...
Paul Stanley 0 Report post Posted August 9, 2005 I just heard from an "inside source" at 93X is that the reason it was postponed is due to not enough advance ticket sales... It does make a bit of sense considering that the other dates that are back-2-back haven't been postponed yet.. Anyone like S.O.D?
Guest Wart Report post Posted August 9, 2005 I had tickets to the Somerset show because of Maiden(I'm in Texas, so I already got screwed out of Maiden before this), but I got an e-mail from Ticketmaster explaining how to get a refund so I'm just gonna go with that. I wanted to see Sabbath, but I would have been satisfied just to get Maiden. Postponing 3 days before the show is a bunch of shit though. About the latest 'news', I won't argue whether its true or not, but you would think that if they couldn't get strong initial sales, it won't help that a lot of the bands, including a co-headliner, won't be appearing at the make up date... Paul Stanley 0 Report post Posted August 10, 2005 August 9, 2005 SACRAMENTO SHOW MOVED BACK ONE DAY OZZFEST organizers have been forced to postpone the Sunday, August 14th show in Sacramento, CA to Monday, August 15th. Contrary to published reports that OZZY is sick, the show is being re-scheduled under doctors’ advisement that he not perform consecutive shows (he will perform August 13 at Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, CA). OZZY performed on Saturday in East Troy, WI with Black Sabbath and will take the stage again on Thursday at the White River Amphitheatre in Auburn, WA. ______________________________________________________ August 9, 2005 SALT LAKE SHOW CANCELLED OZZFEST organizers have been forced to cancel the Tuesday, August 16 show due to some unforeseen scheduling conflicts. Paul Stanley 0 Report post Posted August 19, 2005 August 17, 2005 OZZFEST ORGANIZERS REGRETTABLY CANCEL MINNEAPLOUS AREA SHOW It is with sincere disappointment that OZZfest organizers announced today that the Minneapolis-area OZZfest date at the Floatrite Park in Sommerset, WI--postponed from August 7 to September 10--has now been cancelled. This is because some of the artists set to perform at the August 7 date were ultimately unable to alter their previous commitments to accommodate the new routing. OZZfest organizers felt it was best to cancel the show instead of mounting anything less than a spectacular event, as fans have come to expect from the festival over the course of ten years. Meanwhile, BLACK SABBATH--currently eyeing a headlining tour of Canada in early 2006--is exploring the possibility of adding a Minneapolis-area show to its itinerary at that time. Oh no. Seriously, fuck it.
