Ripper 0 Report post Posted August 11, 2005 Joe should take the title, because the whole goal behind the title is to provide a great match every show. Nobody in TNA can do that like Joe can. Joe with the X title assures me of a decent length Joe match on every PPV, which means they'll get my buys as long as they keep bringing in strong opponents for him. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> When exactly was Christopher daniels last bad match. Don't get me wrong, Joe is great, but to say NOONE else in TNA can guarentee a great match every show is stretching.
Michrome 0 Report post Posted August 11, 2005 He had a painfully average match with Petey Williams last month. Of course, it was largely due to Williams being awful, but he has had plenty of average matches on PPV throughout his run. I think Joe as champ opens up a lot of possibilities with the new talent they're bringing in, along with the old. Strong, Aries, Sydal, and Lethal all look to be coming in, and they could all have very good PPV matches with Joe. Rematches with Sabin, AJ, and Daniels would all work too down the line, because those are all still fresh matches in TNA. A petey match might even be interesting, to see if the Canadian Destroyer can beat Joe.

Garth 0 Report post Posted August 11, 2005 I wouldn't mind them adding Sabin, Dutt & Shark Boy vs Sydal, Strong & Lethal. It would make a fantastic hot opening match, and would give 6 guys a pay day. Only reason I could think not to do this match would be because it would be a pretty poor match to debut or re-debut the three new talents in the match. We'll see tomorrow though. Michrome 0 Report post Posted August 11, 2005 I think just running a 6-way match would be better considering who's involved. It's a better way to showcase debuting talent.
Hunter's Torn Quad 0 Report post Posted August 11, 2005 I disagree with debuting three wrestlers in one match. A debuting wrestler best gets over if they are the only new guy in the match. Too many new guys in one match dilutes the impact of each of them.
Guest Biggles Report post Posted August 11, 2005 Is that because they have contracted all four men of the Internet Poll? I do agree about introducing all three in the same match but I think it will probably be on the internet preshow, and could be a great match just the same. I have very high regards for Sabin coming off his matches with Joe, Abyss and Rhino.
The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted August 12, 2005 I have no idea what they promised these guys...outside of the winner faces Daniels. I just figure that they offered them all a payday.

Too many new guys in one match dilutes the impact of each of them. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I agree with your disagreement. However, is TNA looking to sign all these guys? If not, then slapping them into one match really isnt diluting the impact of them. Also the current TNA fanbase is internet smarks, i would assume a large majority of them have already been exposed to Lethal, Sydal and Strong. So are you really dliuting their impact? By that I assume you meant "giving them a chance to stand out". If they don't plan on using them beyond this sunday night, I cant quite see how it hurts to use those three in a harmless six man opener. If they do intend to use them further, then don't debut them together but they should be used because they were told they would be booked for Sunday and all 4 of those guys on the list are flying in from Chicago to the show. So unless they only offered one ticket to the winner of the poll, they likely booked all of them a ticket. They should be used in some capacity to justify the plane tickets. I am going to order this show on the basis of AJ/Joe, Aries/Daniels, Waltman/Lynn and the six man tag match.

However, even if they don't, it might still be wise to hold off on debuting one or more of them, because it would still allow for each one to have a better chance of being identified with or taken to by the fans. While the majority of the paying TNA fans are internet fans, and are already aware of the Lethal, Sydal and Strong, their live fans aren't internet fans and so have no idea who these guys are. If any of these three have a chance of catching the eyes of the fans on their debut, and I think Strong would be the most likely one of those due to his style, then it would be best to debut them in a singles match so as to capitalize on that potential. As for ordering the show, I want to, and I would if I had any faith at all that it wouldn't end with Jeff Jarrett standing tall at the end, or in some way taking the spotlight. I was considering ordering No Surrender, but declined for the same reason, and I was right, because had I ordered it, even though it was a really good show, it still would have ended on a major downer for me with it ending with Jarrett standing tall over everyone and the main focus of things. TNABaddboi 0 Report post Posted August 12, 2005 TNA has confirmed that Austin Ares will face Daniels in the non-title match on Sunday and also add the olibigatory spotfest opener: ARIES WINS INTERNET VOTE - TO FACE DANIELS THIS SUNDAY Plus, new match announced for "Sacrifice" Pay-Per-View The voting is over for the Internet Dream Match, and independent star Austin Aries has won by a landslide, earning a non-title match this Sunday at "Sacrifice" on Pay-Per-View against X Champion The Fallen Angel Christopher Daniels. Aries was informed this afternoon he was the winner, and the young star is looking forward to travelling to Orlando this Sunday to compete at the epic event. NEW MATCH ANNOUNCED FOR PAY-PER-VIEW The final match on this Sunday's card has been announced, as in six man tag-team action you'll see Chris Sabin, I guess that means that the other guys in the poll won't be used, unless they are using them for the pre-show. I am about 90% Sacrifice is going to end with Jarrett standing tall, but I am going to go against my better judgement and order the show anyways. One, with the new radio show I feel it's sort of my responsibility to watch the show. (I usually watched the other ppv's a few weeks later when some people I know "somehow" got the show to me) Two, there is enough intrigue for me with all the other matches that I can dole out some money for this show. I really hope I don't regret this, though.
Hunter's Torn Quad 0 Report post Posted August 12, 2005 You picked the worst time to start TSM Radio. You've convinced yourself it's now your duty to pay $34.95 to watch Jeff Jarrett stroke his ego. Schmuck.
Ripper 0 Report post Posted August 12, 2005 I never will get it. I will watch some great matches if the cost is watching Jarrett win. I could give a shit about what happens in the ME. JJ is probably going to win and then he is going make a push for being the guy that gets the title shot against raven. Whoopy Doo. I get Daniels/Aries, Joe/Styles, Lynn/Waltman and the Six man match, I will be happy. And I don't think that Hoyt/Abyss will be that bad.
Astro101 0 Report post Posted August 12, 2005 I think I can see Jarrett stroke himself in return for 4 X-division matches. 5 if you count that six man tag with Simon Diamond.

Schmuck. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I thought the ppv's were $29.95? (like it's a big difference) It's the first TNA show that I plan on "buying" live. It's just the turnaround time for me getting the shows from friends is so long, most times it's not worth it to me. Hell, if I find something better to do on sunday evening, I may not end up getting the show and just comment on the end results.

Like I said, I won't be ordering the PPV because of the Jarrett Factor, but the matches that are taking place have so much potential, that I might wind up changing my mind at the last minute. Normally, I obtain PPV's the next day, but the last few TNA PPV's haven't been up until almost a week after the event, and that's never been the case with even the worst WWE PPV. The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted August 13, 2005 Said it before...saying it now...will say it after Sunday. If you are one of those who complain about no alternative... AJ vs. Samoa Joe Daniels vs. Aries Lynn vs. Waltman Shocker vs. Shelley AMW & Naturals vs. Team Canada Abyss vs. Hoyt Go fuck yourself.
The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted August 13, 2005 Oh and here are my predictions: Jarrett and Rhino win...because Rhino is jobbing next month...and then Jarrett faces Raven at Bound For Glory (winner to be determined by power struggle) Joe chokes out the poster boy. (MOTYC if they give it any time BTW) Daniels wins because that's his thing. (Will annoy some because it could be better than it will end up being if Aries was a regular that they wanted to be a star...but hey...maybe the lopsided vote makes it so). Waltman beats Lynn to set up a rematch. (You don't base a feud on years of history and blow it off in one night. Waltman hasn't even won a match since his return. Of course...I think Nash lost every match he had too) Shocker beat Shelley. (And it sucks because Shelley rules and Shocker kind off doesn't. But the face always wins this kind of thing. Unless they think outside the box and turn Shocker (STALE) heel as a result of losing...) Team Canada beats AMW And the Naturals (Can we turn AMW heel already???) Hoyt beats Abyss. Probably a huge upset. But Hoyt never wins. Kip and Monty beat 2 Live Krew. BG still aint turning. Yawn. Team Diamond beats team left in the dust X divisioners. Who cares. Should have been the Lethal/Sydal/Strong debut as pissed off vote losers looking to make a name in the division. I understand TNA wanting to put over there own guys...and I do like Diamond/Young and to a lesser extent Skipper...but they aren't even close to Lethal/Sydal/Strong. Why push the crap when the shit is ready to go?
Jericholic82 0 Report post Posted August 13, 2005 I wont order it since I'm broke, but it does look good on paper. I would like to see waltman/lynn as I really enjoyed their feud in the GWF back in the day. the main event is crap, but its just a setup for the eventual Raven/JJ match where Jeff will likely win it back . perhaps AMW will turn during the 8 man? Michrome 0 Report post Posted August 14, 2005 I'm gonna pick Aries over Daniels. They're going to hype Aries as the guy that beat Joe, and since Joe is going to take the title from Daniels next month, I think it would be nice to build Aries as a major contender before Joe is champ. I also know WWE dev is looking at Aries, so they may try to win him over with a big win.
HollywoodSpikeJenkins 0 Report post Posted August 14, 2005 I was just about to ask, does anyone else get the feeling that Aries is going over Daniels? It IS non-title, afterall.
Dangerous A 0 Report post Posted August 14, 2005 The only way I think Aries goes over Daniels is if Aries and TNA came up with a deal to get him on the roster. Still, no matter who goes over, if this is given time, the match should be good/great.
Guest karlitoapple Report post Posted August 14, 2005 I also know WWE dev is looking at Aries<{POST_SNAPBACK}> Really? Who do you think he would go with? Is him appearing fro TNA a sign that he's choosing TNA or is he still weighing out his options and hoping this can get him the best offer possible from either side? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I haven't heard a single word that WWE is interesting in Aries. Early this summer, they did express interest in only 3 prominent Indy stars... Joe-Punk-Danielson. We know where Joe and Punk ended up. Danielson will likely end up somewhere by early 2006. Aries name was never mentioned. I can't see why they want Aries. He's small. CM Punk isn't big either (barely 6'0) but Punk has charisma that very few can rival and is brilliant on the mic (something im sure will be neglected). What can Aries bring for WWE? Nothing. The only reason WWE would want Aries is to prevent TNA from having him. Aries, I believe will stick around in ROH and maybe go to TNA sometime down the line. Should Aries go over tonight? Not if he's only there for one night. If they were going to keep him and make him a regular and I dont see why they shouldn't, then YES! Aries would be fantastic for TNA but Daniels is TNA's best heel (sorry, Jeff you know its true) and Daniels should be kept strong for Joe. Also, I believe they should save Joe/Daniels for BFG. Astro101 0 Report post Posted August 14, 2005 I wanna see the unbeatable Joe vs the so far undefeated champ of Daniels. Aries would throw a wrench into seeing that...but honestly, if Aries wins but he sticks around and they make something out of it with him beating Joe, then it's fine.
Dangerous A 0 Report post Posted August 14, 2005 Aries is good enough to where I'd make an exception and sign him up. Aries would def get better money from WWE, but they wouldn't know what to do with him because if I'm not mistaken, he's around 5'6 or so. The X division is tailor made for Aries style and skill set. TNA would probrably give Aries a decent push, but who knows how long they'll be in business in terms of longevity. All depends on Aries wants and needs I suppose.
