Birchill called up? RAW worker w/ familiar role?

Recommended Posts

I have to say that I marked the hell out when I saw the Destroyer for the first time. I'm all for innovative moves.

Booker has the Lazy Axe Kick, and the Harlem Heat Axe Kick. The Lazy one I cannot stand at all.

I agree that the C4 should be used on a select few. If he prepared with a larger opponent, and they busted it out in a big time PPV match, it would most definitely get a "HOLY SHIT!~" chant. If he uses it often or as his finisher, it wouldn't have the same feel.

Also, I don't see why WWE should neuter Burchill's moveset too much... aside from the Air Raid Crash (which is gone for sure) and to a lesser extent his flip dive, none of his moves are particularly dangerous.

Batista did an Air Raid Crash at Wrestlemania. Though I guess that makes it even less likely that Burchill will be allowed to use it...

Well it was a watered down Air Raid Crash. HHH did more of a back bump than a drop on the neck.

But I agree about the C4 being used on PPVs... save it for the show so people will pay money to see Burchill do that. He could bust out the Rolling Samoan Crash or the Standing Star Press as regular finishers and then use the C4 as the PPV or big match finisher.

For some reason I have never been impressed with the Rolling Somoan Crash. Not when Finley did it, not when Storm did it, and not even when Batista did it.

Don't go downing the destroyer.  it is very plausible.

And honestly, when a move is in full speed, it looks really cool and realistic.  you take anymove in a animated Gif and its going to look a little silly.

Very true. Until I looked at the Monster Moment's Air Raid Crash a second time, I didn't really pay attention to Burchill's opponent locking his arms.

I still dont get it why Jericho cut his hair.

As for Burchill, he seems promising in the ring, but of course, with WWE cutting out SSP's and 450's, his offense will probably consist of mostly restholds and a shitty finisher.

Hopefully this does not come to pass.

IF that's what they think will work for ratings they are sorely mistaken and should leave Burchill in OVW so he can continue to wreak havok.

I have never once watched Velocity, however after hearing about Burchill's debut- I will be watching it this week.

Burchill looks like a mid-morph between Hacksaw Jim Duggan and Steve Williams in that close-up pic to me.

In that picture, he looks like the long lost son of Big John Studd to me.

So how was his debut on Velocity? I went out to meet someone, and I forgot to tape the show.

Not all that impressive actually, clothesline to Scotty, then a flying knee drop off the toprope to end it.

He looks like a long haired, buff Larry the Cable Guy. I was watching Velocity tonight and figured it was him when he came out, but he looks nothing like I always envisioned him when I heard his name or used him in EWR.

The standing SSP is used by Johnny Nitro, so even if Vince lets them use the SSP variant on the ground (the top rope one is banned after Juvy's screwups), Burchill won't get to use it.

Most guys shouldn't have a problem taking the C4... it's just a basic flip ---> back bump that everyone learns for their part of it.

paul birchill is going to be a future main champion of a brand. he looks like HHH to me with the body, facial hair, intensity and long hair. and he can get it done in the ring. so i expect him to do well down the line.
