King Cucaracha Posted August 18, 2005 Report Posted August 18, 2005 1.Kevin Steen 2.Mike Quackenbush 3.Super Dragon 4.AJ Styles 5.Marek Brave 6.Tyler Black 7.Homicide 8.Chris Hero 9.American Dragon 10.Jonny Storm 11.James Gibson 12.Robbie Brookside 13.Rainman 14.Matt Sydal 15.Alex Shelley 16.Chris Harris 17.Arik Cannon 18.Delirious 19.Chris Sabin 20.El Generico 21.Brandon Thomaselli 22."Spyder" Nate Webb 23.Josh Abercrombie 24."Double C" Claudio Castagnoli First round brackets as well as Jimmy Jacobs's opponent on Night 1 Will be announced tommorrow night during the Midlo show...which incidently features Cannon/Hero, Delirious/Strong and a lot of other stuff. Plus, an injured, but as of right now going against doctor's orders (although that may hopefully change) Ian against Eddie Kingston in a Last Man Standing Match. Also announced, Jimmy Jacobs vs. Mickie Knuckles for the IWA Title on Night 2. Pretty good line-up, seeing as they're having to compete against ROH this time around.
Youth N Asia Posted August 18, 2005 Report Posted August 18, 2005 I liked last year's line up better, but this one still looks good, I'll be there. And this Mickie vs the boys thing is beyond retarded.
Phoenix Fury Legdrop Posted August 18, 2005 Report Posted August 18, 2005 And this Mickie vs the boys thing is beyond retarded. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Um...why? It's not like she's tiny and dainty...she's a big, strong girl. And I'd believe her beating the living crap out of a guy like Jimmy Jacobs than some of the guys (including Matt Sydal, who looked like he was going to be Jimmy's successor for a while).
Youth N Asia Posted August 18, 2005 Report Posted August 18, 2005 I have nothing against Mickie, I even like her, but it's just looking like Ian is handpicking his traineee to go over better workers like MsChif and Daizee. She's already ran down the woman's division. And I have zero interest in seeing her vs Jimmy. I don't like intergender wrestling in the first place. And it's a little disapointing to see the title not get defended throughout the tourney like it has been before

Guest Adam Gard Posted August 19, 2005 Report Posted August 19, 2005 I hope one of the UK guys get the semi's, we all know they wont go to the final.
PsychoDriver Posted August 25, 2005 Report Posted August 25, 2005 First Round Match Ups: 1.Chris Sabin vs James Gibson 2.AJ Styles vs Tyler Black 3.Arik Cannon vs Delirious 4.Super Dragon vs Josh Abercrombie 5.Matt Sydal vs El Generico 6."The Notorious 187" Homicide vs Rainman 7.Brandon Thomaselli vs Jommy Storm 8.Mike Quackenbush vs Alex Shelley 9.Kevin Steen vs Nate Webb 10.Chris Hero vs "The Wildcat" Chris Harris 11."Double C" Claudio Castagnoli vs American Dragon 12.Robbie Brookside vs Marek Brave
HollywoodSpikeJenkins Posted August 26, 2005 Report Posted August 26, 2005 That is a NICE looking first round...but WHY Chris Harris?
JoeDirt Posted August 26, 2005 Report Posted August 26, 2005 Ian said he likes Chris Harris and wants to give him a shot. Should be a great two nights, can't wait to get the DVD.
Youth N Asia Posted August 26, 2005 Report Posted August 26, 2005 Funny how a guy with a dying promotion is going to give a former NWA tag champ and regular tv worker a "shot"
King Cucaracha Posted September 2, 2005 Author Report Posted September 2, 2005 Couple of updates. Jonny Storm can't make the trip over and has been removed from the tournament line-up and replaced with Puma. Also, Super Dragon is unavailable for the Friday night show due to "real life obligations". Therefore he's not in the tournament anymore and will be replaced by a Dragon hand-picked, PWG representative. Dragon will be on the Saturday show though, facing one of the first round losers. 1.Chris Sabin vs James Gibson 2.AJ Styles vs Tyler Black 3.Arik Cannon vs Delirious 4.PWG Representative vs Josh Abercrombie 5.Matt Sydal vs El Generico 6."The Notorious 187" Homicide vs Rainman 7.Brandon Thomaselli vs Puma 8.Mike Quackenbush vs Alex Shelley 9.Kevin Steen vs Nate Webb 10.Chris Hero vs "The Wildcat" Chris Harris 11."Double C" Claudio Castagnoli vs American Dragon 12.Robbie Brookside vs Marek Brave Plus IWA WORLD TITLE Jimmy Jacobs vs. "Classic" Colt Cabana(~!)
Mystery Eskimo Posted September 2, 2005 Report Posted September 2, 2005 Sabin-Gibson and Danielson-CC sound pretty tasty. I'm not too inspired by the rest of the matches though. I'm going to pick Shelley to win it, not for any real reason.
King Cucaracha Posted September 2, 2005 Author Report Posted September 2, 2005 Personally, I think it's a pretty strong line-up. There's only really Steen/Webb, Hero/Harris and Brookside/Marek I'm not all that eager to see. Depending on the PWG guy that is.
natey2k4 Posted September 2, 2005 Report Posted September 2, 2005 As far as I'm concerned, Puma is an upgrade from Jonny Storm. Too bad we couldn't replace Chris Harris with Jimmy Rave. I'd love to see Chris Bosh or Joey Ryan... Scorpio Sky/Human Tornndo/Quicksilver to a lesser extent. Disco Machine maybe too. Any of those six from PWG would be great.
Phoenix Fury Legdrop Posted September 3, 2005 Report Posted September 3, 2005 Joey Ryan is confirmed as Super Dragon's replacement, according to the IWA board.
