C Dubya 04 0 Report post Posted November 16, 2005 You know, you would probably be best served by throwing a game to keep the better team out of the playoffs, but I don't think that I would do that. It's a honor kind of thing, and I would never want to be on the receiving end. I'd probably try to get someone kicked out of our league if they pulled a stunt like that. fazzle 0 Report post Posted November 17, 2005 Hrm... I have 4 WRs that I'm deciding on, and I need to sit one of them out. Steve Smith (vs. Chicago) Torry Holt (vs. Arizona) Reggie Wayne (vs. Cincinnati) or Roy Williams (vs. Dallas) I'm leaning towards sitting Wayne out, but I'm not sure. starvenger 0 Report post Posted November 17, 2005 Need some help here. I can start 3 RBs from these four: Tiki Barber vs Philly Bryan Westbrook vs NYG Warrick Dunn vs Tampa Sam Gado vs Minny Tiki's an obvious start, but what about the other three? Tampa got lit up by Washington runners last week, and Minny, well, you know. However, Westbrook has 4 receiving TDs, and those count for more in my league where RBs are concerned. packwingfn 0 Report post Posted November 17, 2005 Ok, I just picked up Greg Jones. The question is: Is he going to start this week with Fred Taylor being listed as Doubtful. Here are my RBs: Willis McGahee (against SD) * ( already got him started) Jerome Bettis (against balt) Ricky Williams (against CLEV) Greg Jones (agasint Tenn) I also have Willie Parker but he's probably not going to play as many downs. I must start at least 2 RBs. Who should I go with as my 2nd Running back behind Willis McGahee.
Stephen Joseph 0 Report post Posted November 18, 2005 So since I'm playoff bound in each league I'm in, I'll tackle all of these! Hrm... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Sit WILLIAMS. He had a splash in the pan. Smith and Holt are must-plays, and Wayne will get good WR3 totals. You don't know that about Williams. That was 1 game, and I would not rely on Harrington to be consistent. I have Wayne in two leagues. I'm playing him fearlessly. Running back thing In a league where we use 2 RB's and 1 RB/WR Which 3 RB's should I use out of the 4 W. McGahee K. Jones M. Anderson S. Gado <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Sit Jones. Anderson gets good carries, and McGahee wants to prove that he's the best RB, and he's playign against the best. Not so good defenses on either side. Gado is going against Minnesota. Defense and Minnesota don't go hand in hand. He's a lock for 70 and a TD. What to do?!?!?!? Who to start as secondary RB. Tatum Bell vs Jets Rudi Johnson vs Colts Westbrook vs Giants and for WR Rod Smith vs Jets Roy Williams vs Cowboys <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Rod Smith. Again, Williams was a one week flash. I need more than 1 week to decide on if a guy is for real. Smith is consistent, and the Jets D (WHAT D?) Bell or Westbrook. Westbrook will get alot of receptions and screens, so if you are in a league that gets you a point per reception, play him. If not, play bell, because Bell will likely find the end zone more than Westie Need some help here. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If rec TDs are so highly rewarded, then you start Barber, Gado, and Westbrook. Dunn loses the goalilne carries Duckett... Ok, I just picked up Greg Jones. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Willie Parker is worthless now. Same for Bettis. Unless your league is uber TD heavy.Jones is starting. Start McGahee and Jones. If you have an aweomse flex receiver play hi, other wise us Bettis because he'll get 1 TD This was this week in Fantasy Football help
MillenniumMan831 0 Report post Posted November 18, 2005 My poor team is on life support. Just as I move into 1st place in the division (6-4 off a 4 game winning streak), I learn that McNabb is out, TO is obviously out, and Parker is now worthless as SJ mentioned. My only serious weapon is the Carolina D. I'm beyond needing help . . . I need a miracle.

MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted November 21, 2005 Im down like 3 points with Donald Driver and Bubba Franks playing tomorrow night, so Im probably going to luck out with a win playing a team with Peyton, Wayne, Holt and Cadilac Williams. But it helped that I had Vick (300+ yards passing and 2 TDs), Boldin (8 for 105 and a TD), Curtis (9 for 98 and a TD) and I played Heath Evans over Jamal Lewis. Thank heavens for Drew Brees and the fact that my opposition was playing the Colts D. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> What kind of scoring nets a QB/TE/K combo for 46 points? Farve at best will be 200/2/0, Franks 4/50/1 and Edinger 2 FG 1 XP which nets in most league formats 13/12/8 or 33 points. Dude, you've so won. Besides, Gado is going to be getting a good many goalline looks. As if it matters, in my work league one guy bet the guy I was playing 10 bucks he wouldn't come within 20 points of my team. As of right now, I'm up 160-61 with Gado left to go for him. Easy way to lose 10 bucks. None of my players got below 14 points. God I love LJ. I love HIM! C Dubya 04 0 Report post Posted November 21, 2005 I've got to find a way to keep Burrelson under 50 yards receiving tonight. I feel like this is going to be his week to go off and screw me. I ended up with 134 points and could lose. Not good times. (our scoring system is the standard with no bonuses, so 134 is a good week in our league, in fact it will either be the most or second most points for the week)

Of course, there are other factors involved but that's the meat and potatoes of it. I guess the way a lot of the marquee QBs have played this week has me a little uptight. Dude, I think you're fine. Gb should eat clock with the run game. How many points you got left? We've all been there when your team has a good week and the fucker spikes a great game. There's one in my work league that will be decided by the battle of franks/edinger vs. Driver, both teams over 100. In that league, 100 is a good week. Sadly, I will be watching tonight as a fan. I have 99 points over my opponent and he has Gado left. Poor bastard.

MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted November 22, 2005 Heh..Driver has 4 catches for 80 yards and 2 TDs All 3 of my WR had more than 19 points.. Very good week, moving into a tie for first place after going through a rough patch with a lot of injuries. Boldin/Driver/Curtis is a top notch Fantasy Trio of WR in a league thats favorable to WR (1 point per catch?) And interestingly enough..the better Vick performs fantasy wise (as he has the last couple weeks) the worse the Falcons do, and vice versa (Vick sucks and the Falcons win..) MillenniumMan831 0 Report post Posted November 23, 2005 I have Drew Brees currently QBing. My opponent this week has LT. I may get Mike McMahon through waivers. I'll have to wait until Thursday to make sure no one else snatched him up. Would I be better off starting Brees or McMahon since any passes/TDs thrown to LT would cancel out or benefit my opponent since 1 pt = 20yds passing or 10yds receiving/rushing? Or is McMahon looking screwed this week?
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted November 23, 2005 McMahon has a better matchup, but if Brees has been good for you, I'd stay with him. How much involvement does LT have in their passing game?
MillenniumMan831 0 Report post Posted November 23, 2005 Honestly, I'm not sure how dangerous LT receiving but with the versatiliy McMahon brings (running/throwing) against GB at home, I think I'll start McMahon (if he's not already claimed). Plus, I've been an Eagles fan since the early 90s so it'll be much easier to root for him knowing LT will probably break my back anyway. I had McNabb going until he got hurt. Then, Brees had a marvelous game last week but I can't expect the same this week at Washington.
Spaceman Spiff 0 Report post Posted November 24, 2005 I'd go w/ the proven starter in Brees.
Stephen Joseph 0 Report post Posted November 24, 2005 ALWAYS go with a proven starter especially since you dont know if McMahon can do it again WHAT IF BREES THROWS TO GATES?

Guest El Satanico Report post Posted November 24, 2005 LT only has two receiving TDs this season, and each of the past three week he had three receptions. IF LT blows up in the passing game, playing Brees cancels it out and Brees has had good games the past five weeks.
Special K 0 Report post Posted November 25, 2005 Plus, that kind of thinking is downright stupid. I had Palmer and Griese one week, and my opponent was playing Chad Johnson. Palmer and Chad hooked up, both had good games. Griese had a game not so good. So the QB-WR tandem might even out, who gives a flying fuck? You play the best player every week, moron. Most likely, I'm going to be playing a team led by Kerry Collins next week. Oh nos! I better not play Lamont Jordan! What kind of fucking logic is that? I'm sure if you don't start Brees LT is suddenly going to suck. Fucking aggravating. This kind of stupid shit is against data, against common sense, I just... Fuck. My opponent (playoff time in my league) Had Mike Anderson. Awww Yeah. If I don't go to the superbowl with 3 top-10 backs, and 3 top 10 overall players, I'm going to be so pissed.
MillenniumMan831 0 Report post Posted November 28, 2005 . . . And I played McMahon anyway who had a measly 6 fantasy points . . . whereas Brees had an even worse day at 4 points. Needless to say, my team got fucked six ways from Sunday and my playoff chances are looking about 50/50 going into the regular season finale next week.
