Richard Posted October 27, 2005 Report Posted October 27, 2005 Enough with teams breaking long droughts. Unless it's my team, natch. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You had your chance.
Guest Posted October 27, 2005 Report Posted October 27, 2005 How many of you have seen your team win it all?
Big McLargeHuge Posted October 27, 2005 Report Posted October 27, 2005 Enough with teams breaking long droughts. Unless it's my team, natch. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You had your chance. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That doesn't count. Dusty was managing that team.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted October 27, 2005 Report Posted October 27, 2005 Just wondering but has anyone ever gone through all the rounds of the playoffs without a loss (since the Wild Card I mean)? The White Sox came within 1 game of being perfect in the postseason and that was a one run loss to the Angels. Just an amazing run considering some people thought they might choke and not even make the playoffs. Since the advent of divisional play in 1969, only the 1976 Reds (7-0) have swept the postseason, and they only had two rounds then.
bob_barron Posted October 27, 2005 Report Posted October 27, 2005 How many of you have seen your team win it all? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Tomorrow (Friday) will be the ten year anniversary of the greatest day of my life.
treble Posted October 27, 2005 Report Posted October 27, 2005 How many of you have seen your team win it all? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Me, but I wish I had been old enough to appreciate it, though. You don't really understand the impact and how tough it is to win it all when you're 9 and 10.
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted October 27, 2005 Report Posted October 27, 2005 *raises hand* Finally yes I've seen my team win it all.
The Niggardly King Posted October 27, 2005 Report Posted October 27, 2005 How many of you have seen your team win it all? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> When the Angels won it I was estatic.
Fökai Posted October 27, 2005 Report Posted October 27, 2005 How many of you have seen your team win it all? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Me, but I wish I had been old enough to appreciate it, though. You don't really understand the impact and how tough it is to win it all when you're 9 and 10. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Amen to that. It's going to be *really* sweet this time around when the Braves win it.
Guest Posted October 27, 2005 Report Posted October 27, 2005 I would trade the Lakers 3-peat and USC's 2 titles to see the Dodgers win it all.
therealworldschampion Posted October 27, 2005 Report Posted October 27, 2005 How many of you have seen your team win it all? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> 76ers won their championship a month before I was born. I've had to deal with the 1993 Series, the sweep of the Flyers in 1997, the Flyers blowing a 3-1 lead to NJ in 2000; had they won they've got a great chance at the Cup, the Sixers being Laker fodder in 2001, along with the Eagles losing big games from 2001-2004.
Big McLargeHuge Posted October 27, 2005 Report Posted October 27, 2005 I would trade the Lakers 3-peat and USC's 2 titles to see the Dodgers win it all. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Where were you in '88? Edit: Nevermind. Looked up your B-day in 87. Still you were at least ALIVE when they won it.
bob_barron Posted October 27, 2005 Report Posted October 27, 2005 I would trade the Lakers 3-peat and USC's 2 titles to see the Dodgers win it all. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> ::checks King's profile:: They won when you were one, don't be greedy! It's going to be *really* sweet this time around when the Braves win it. Yea, don't hold your breath. Even though I was 10, I just remember knowing what I was witnessing was possibly a once in a lifetime event. I still have my copy of the AJC from the day after.
The Niggardly King Posted October 27, 2005 Report Posted October 27, 2005 WOOHOO THE WHITE SOX WON! I WAS ON THE PHONE WITH MY GIRLFRIEND AND IT HAPPENED! WOOO!
bob_barron Posted October 27, 2005 Report Posted October 27, 2005 I've witnessed the Nets gag it in the finals twice, the Canucks break my heart every year and the Saints win one playoff game. The Leafs have only been close a few times, never enough to really get my hopes up.
Guest Posted October 27, 2005 Report Posted October 27, 2005 I'm resigned to the fact that the Dodgers will never win a World Series with McCourt as the owner. I'd love to see the Kings win the Cup, the talent is in place as long as they can stay healthy.
The Czech Republic Posted October 27, 2005 Report Posted October 27, 2005 Saw the Bulls win six, and the Cubs come close to a pennant
Slayer Posted October 27, 2005 Report Posted October 27, 2005 Saw the Reds win in '90 and the Red Sox win last year, so I should be content in baseball, I guess
St. Gabe Posted October 27, 2005 Report Posted October 27, 2005 I'm loving life right now.... what a night. I have cold chills. John Rooney actually gave a small goodbye speech that was really amazing. As much as Hawk is scorned, John Rooney is beloved and its a shame local radio has shunned him so.
A Happy Medium Posted October 27, 2005 Report Posted October 27, 2005 I saw the Bulls win six titles, and have just watched the Sox put down the Astros.
SteakGrowsOnUecker Posted October 27, 2005 Report Posted October 27, 2005 I saw the Bulls win six titles, and have just watched the Sox put down the Astros. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Same here, congrats to the Sox.
Guest Posted October 27, 2005 Report Posted October 27, 2005 If the Ducks win a cup before the Kings, I'll probably kill myself.
Matt Young Posted October 27, 2005 Report Posted October 27, 2005 Oh my God.... just got back from the bar... Happiest moment of my life since gettingengaged... oh wow. *orgasms*
Kahran Ramsus Posted October 27, 2005 Report Posted October 27, 2005 How many of you have seen your team win it all? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I remember the 92 & 93 World Series like they were yesterday. The oldest WS I can remember watching is Royals/Cards. I first started getting interested in MLB during Toronto's divisional run that year.
Vern Gagne Posted October 27, 2005 Author Report Posted October 27, 2005 Same goes for the Twins. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yea, that horrible 14 year drought. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Actually. The comment was about the Twins doing what it takes to win. The Twins won twice. Gopher Hockey won twice
Guest Posted October 27, 2005 Report Posted October 27, 2005 The first WS I can remember was Phillies/Blue Jays, first NBA finals I can remember was Suns/Bulls and first Super Bowl I can remember was 49ers/Chargers.
Vern Gagne Posted October 27, 2005 Author Report Posted October 27, 2005 I remember '84 and that was more for the riots.
Bored Posted October 27, 2005 Report Posted October 27, 2005 Wild Card not winning the World Series good: Good. Joe Morgan likely popping a boner over "smartball" winning the World Series: So very bad.
