Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted November 2, 2005 This was easily one of the best RAW PPVs ever. All the faces won and I practically didn't have a problem with how things went down. Surprised Flair won, SD prevailed, and that Kane was able to work the match. Good stuff. Edit: The opening match was better than it had right to be and Joey Styles MADE this PPV! Guest jumpingbombangel Report post Posted November 2, 2005 So what's the verdict on Joey Styles? Did he do a good job with Lawler? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Better question is if Lawler meshed well with Styles. It's no big surprise, but Joey carried the commentary this evening. Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted November 2, 2005 Oh yeah, I was really hoping HHH would bust out with the Indian Death Lock and then would later tap out to the Figure Four, but you can't always get what you want. Flair/HHH was literally Flair's best match in ten years... Really? Really.
Scroby 0 Report post Posted November 2, 2005 How did Joey Styles do tonight? I couldn't watch the ppv so I'm curious if he sounded good or just out of place.

CBright7831 0 Report post Posted November 2, 2005 It sounds like this was a good PPV. I'm shocked to hear that considering the way the WWE has been for the past few months.
Guest JMA Report post Posted November 2, 2005 WWE made a big mistake in not having Angle win and then doing a double turn with him and Cena.
BUTT 0 Report post Posted November 2, 2005 I wouldn't say that. Cena is just beginning to see his fan support erode. If this continues, then a heel turn might be in order. But WWE definitely shouldn't be that hasty.
Hunter's Torn Quad 0 Report post Posted November 2, 2005 A Cena turn should be hinted and teased at before having the trigger pulled.
Guest JMA Report post Posted November 2, 2005 A Cena turn should be hinted and teased at before having the trigger pulled. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That's a good point. I do think they are going to have to turn him, though. I've never been anti-Cena (and I'm still not) but the fans do seem to be turning on him. It seems like a wrestler has to either be exciting in the ring or a good worker to appeal to the fans of today. Unfortunately, Cena doesn't have either of those things going for him. He's a great talker but he's been neutered since turning face. I just hope we don't get another Scott Steiner/Triple H incident, with Cena replacing Steiner. Matt Young 0 Report post Posted November 2, 2005 I haven't read through the thread yet, but Taboo Tuesday's results looked atrocious, and that's coming from someone who enjoys pretty much every show. I may be the biggest WWE mark here, with the possible exception of Downhome. Cena going over, Flair going over, Smackdown going over... all good decisions. Batista winning was a no-brainer. Trish winning wasn't offensive, however, I did want someone else to win the Women's Title. I'm glad Rey got the win, but why the fuck didn't he pin Snitsky? Masters only had 1 career loss, to HBK. He shouldn't have jobbed here. Same goes for Conway. He was UNDEFEATED with his new gimmick. He never should havelost to Snuka. Although it makes sense from a mark standpoint for Kane and Show to be able to beat just about anyone, I wish that Cade and Murdoch would have at least gotten themselves DQ'ed. They needed to keep the belts a while longer. Finally, unless they're building to a Survivor Series rematch, it made zero sense for mankind to beat Carlito. CCC has lost just about every damn match he's been in on Raw. Literally. Unless the horrible results were offset by great match quality, which I doubt, this PPV seems to be the worst in recent memory.
Fökai 0 Report post Posted November 2, 2005 Damn, this is cool.... Now I know why they're giving a month free. I'm not I sure I want to give this up in 30 days. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No shit. After seeing Hogan/Slaughter as my first match, I'm sold on buying the yearly subscription. Although it makes sense from a mark standpoint for Kane and Show to be able to beat just about anyone, I wish that Cade and Murdoch would have at least gotten themselves DQ'ed. They needed to keep the belts a while longer. Kane is injured. All they have to do is hotshot the titles back to them, effectively breaking up the Kane/TBS alliance. Guest JMA Report post Posted November 2, 2005 I'm actually glad Mankind went over Carlito. At this point in his career, Carlito just isn't very good. If they don't want send him down to OVW again they should just make him a manager that occasionally wrestles.
Guest Ransome Report post Posted November 2, 2005 I watched it. Totally average show. No real highlights, although I did appreciate the presence of Joey Styles on commentary and hope he continues commentating. Regarding the WWE 24/7 access: anyone know anything about this 'Optimised streaming performance' and how to turn it off? It seems that whenever I download these videos from WWE.com they only show about 10 seconds of actual video followed by about 30 seconds of slowly-alternating 'still' pictures (with commentary playing). I assume it's to prevent the stop-start buffering times, but there's no point watching a match when you're going to miss 90% of the content. Is there a way to turn it off? DrVenkman PhD 0 Report post Posted November 2, 2005 Since this somehow turned into a 24/7 Online discussion thread, I suggest watching Brian Christopher vs Tijari from the October matches. It has a hilarious line form lawler about Judo and Vince and JR rip on Hogan movies (No Holds Barred, no profits required).
CanadianChick 0 Report post Posted November 2, 2005 I'm telling you guys, when Van Dam gets back he'll be the top face on Raw within 2 months. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Disagreed. Within two months, RVD will be involved with Shelton, whether it be a tag team or feud. It's called killing two birds with one stone.
Guest FromBeyondTheGrave Report post Posted November 2, 2005 I really hate when all the babyfaces win their matches on big shows like PPVs. Vader rocks. Whether he's falling on his ass, or kicking ass, he rocks my socks. John Cena is really lame, at everything.
hyperchord24 0 Report post Posted November 2, 2005 The thing about Cena is I think the E knows the fans are turning on him. I think I read somewhere that he went up to a little girl sitting in the front row that was terminally ill and talked to her, let her hold the belt, etc, etc. That really popped the crowd. They're trying real hard with Cena.
Black Lushus 0 Report post Posted November 2, 2005 problem is Cena can be over in the tweener role and STILL do things like being nice with that ill child without ruining anything...I think back in Austin's days, his overness would not have been affected by him taking a couple minutes out of being "bad ass tweener" to show some love to a terminally ill child...hell I think even HHH can pull it off and just tell the rest of the crowd that they suck... cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted November 2, 2005 Canadian Chick, I wouldn't mind RVD and Shelton doing something, maybe feuding over the IC title. Besides, Shelton has been totally buried for some reason...the dude jobbed to Matt Striker on Heat. I guess my point was that RVD will be the most over guy on Raw when he gets back. There really isn't anyone else that is getting consistent reactions.
Dangerous A 0 Report post Posted November 2, 2005 I didn't watch the show, but came across this blip... Vince "showed up" and yelled at Bischoff for losing the mixed match. Eric said Teddy Long cheated. Vince is tired of the lack of creativity, lack of killer instinct, he's tired of changing all of our diapers. It's no fun watching a guy whose flipped. Why was Vince mad at Bischoff? Doesn't he remember he OWNS both brands? Why would he care if Bischoff or Teddy won or lost?
Black Lushus 0 Report post Posted November 2, 2005 he was doubting Bischoff's general manager skills for losing both inter-brand matches on a Raw brand PPV...
