Taboo Tuesday fallout

When the smoke cleared at Taboo Tuesday, John Cena was still standing as WWE Champion after pinning Shawn Michaels to win the Triple Threat Match. Where will the champ go from here? Will Kurt Angle have anything to say about it? And how will HBK react?

 

For the past couple of weeks, Theodore Long and his SmackDown troops have embarrassed Eric Bischoff and his RAW soldiers on their own home turf. At Taboo Tuesday, SmackDown's Rey Mysterio & Matt Hardy defeated Chris Masters & Snitsky, and Batista defeated Coach in a Street Fight. Will Eric Bischoff have anything to say after his brand went 0-for-2 at Taboo Tuesday?

 

Also at Taboo Tuesday, Ric Flair defeated Triple H in a bloody Steel Cage Match to retain the Intercontinental Championship, Trish Stratus retained the Women's Championship by winning the Fulfill Your Fantasy Diva Battle Royal, and Kane & Big Show overcame Lance Cade & Trevor Murdoch to become World Tag Team Champions. Will we find out what's next for RAW's other champions?

Have any matches been announced for the show?

Right now, this looks like a whole lot of questions I really don't care about the answers too. My questions would be

 

Will Cena be able to cut a promo that isn't five minutes of gay jokes?

Will Shelton actually make RAW?

Will another McMahon show up to make us want to cry?

What the fuck are Cade and Murdock going to do now?

I'm not sure where the McMahons fit into any of this. With Austin not around and JR apparently history I'd just have Styles show up and announce the show and that's it. If they have Vince introduce him it might start the crowd booing Styles, which isn't what they need.

I'm mildly interested in hearing Joey Styles do an episode of Raw. Still, I'll wait til Tuesday or late Monday to watch this since MNF is the Pats vs Colts, which is a kick ass game.

Me too. Something tells me he may not last as long as people think. He'll either say something over the line not authorized or he'll tire of Vince screaming into his headset.

 

What I wouldn't give to see Styles just get sick of Vince yelling instructions in his headset and Styles just up and leaves.

I doubt he'd commit breach of contract and let himself be sued into the ground.

I can see him getting fired before the Royal Rumble though.

I will be watching raw for two reasons: Listening to joey styles and commercial breaks with mnf. I see a lot of other people doing the same. Kinda sad that I'm not actually looking forward to any sort of wrestling.

 

If coach gets slammed for admiting that fans were booing cena (a big error), I wonder what sort of "trouble" styles will get into.

Hopefully Vince understands that Styles is the kind of announcer that does best when he can just call things as he sees it, and that he has an air of credibility that RAW badly needs right now.

 

That said, I think people are taking the whole aura of Joey Styles a little too seriously. By all accounts WWE is paying him a pretty big chunk of change to be their lead announcer. I don't think he's going to sabotage that by going over the line and deliberately pissing Vince off.

I don't think Joey will purposely do that... but with the combination of the garbage that's been on Raw lately, the "talent" that's being pushed on TV and the people in charge who probably aren't keen on Joey even having his position... I just think it's a matter of time before the ill-advised comment finishes Joey.

While RAW might end up being decent, I would guess that they have a ready made excuse if the ratings are bad because the MNF game (Colts/Pats) will likely do the best number of any game on their schedule by a pretty wide margin.

That has never mattered to Vince. He wants everything called his way, so Styles has no choice other than to repeat what Vince wants, but he can do it in his own way.

There's not a lot left to be positive about. Fans clamor for new talent and we get Cena, Bastita, Snitsky, Carlito, Lashley & Masters...none of which can work. Even holding out hope because people like Benoit are still on the roster...well, we all know about the current contract situations.

 

I'll watch MNF tonight and download Raw tomorrow. I'll always watch, I can't just miss it. The doesn't mean I can't call a spade a spade.

I'm just looking forward to how Joey Styles calls an actual episode of RAW. It's a hell of a lot different than calling a PPV, which is mainly just matches. We know he is great at that, but what happens when the McMahons are on the screen doing something totally stupid or what happens when WWE tries their hand at "ground breaking comedy" once again?

I think they're going to turn Styles heel by default when Vince comes out to remind us that Coach did beat Austin by forfeit, thus nullifying the stipulation that Ross would be brought back.
