Vyce Posted November 11, 2005 Report Posted November 11, 2005 Logical choice is Eddy. I'm absolutely terrified, though, that Vince will fall back on his old faithful: putting the belt back on Undertaker. I would hate that. So much. I'd rather see the title around Vince, honestly.
cabbageboy Posted November 11, 2005 Report Posted November 11, 2005 Vyce, let's face it. Deep down we all know that UT is going to get the title one more time before he retires. Hell, my friend Chris has blathered on about this for the past 2 years. That said if they do put it on him they can't just have an absentee champ, he'd have to actually show up for work. As far as what I would do, I'd put it on Eddie. I'd put it on Eddie, you'd put it on Eddie, we'd all put it on Eddie. But will THEY put it on Eddie?
Danville_Wrestling Posted November 12, 2005 Report Posted November 12, 2005 I remember seeing some crazy idea floating around the 'net about how they should book the Undertaker in the World title match @ WM, have him come out in his "old school" grey attire, win the match, and then at the end have a lightning bolt strike the ring and lights go out and when they came back on the championship belt would be lying in the middle of the ring with the Undertaker gone forever. Sounds insane and ain't gonna happen, but would sorta cap the career real well.
Downhome Posted November 12, 2005 Report Posted November 12, 2005 After seeing how this all went down on SD, I belive that this injury could possibly be the best thing to happen to Batista's career so far. As long as they play their cards back from where they go here, all the way up to his return and the few weeks and months following.

hyperchord24 Posted November 12, 2005 Report Posted November 12, 2005 Kennedy needs to come up with a different finisher IMO. I like the move, but he's risking injury everytime he does it and he's probrably already accrueing cumulative damage. Kennedy is a Dr. Jho appointment waiting to happen. For his sake, I hope he gets a different finisher. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> What's so bad about his finisher? It's just an inverted samoan drop, right?

hyperchord24 Posted November 12, 2005 Report Posted November 12, 2005 . . . the second rope. but so what's so injury-inducing about it?
naiwf Posted November 12, 2005 Report Posted November 12, 2005 . . . the second rope. but so what's so injury-inducing about it? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If he underrotates on the front flip he'll basically pull a Lesnar SSP landing. . . with a guy on his back at the time. It's not worth the risk.

When they land, most off their weight lands on the matt, not the opponent.
Lil' Bitch Posted November 12, 2005 Report Posted November 12, 2005 I'm absolutely terrified, though, that Vince will fall back on his old faithful: putting the belt back on Undertaker. I'll take Taker any day over JBL.

cabbageboy Posted November 12, 2005 Report Posted November 12, 2005 Yeah and I'd rather take UT because they've never been dumb enough to keep the belt on him for 9 months. If he got it again it'd just be a little transition run to let him go out in style. I mean UT has held the belt from: Nov.-Dec. 1991 (like two weeks) March-Aug. 1997 (not quite 5 months) May-June 1999 (maybe 6 weeks) May-July 2002 (2 months or so) In other words, there's no real chance they'd keep the title on UT any longer than necessary.

However, on second thought considering that the "Dead Man" morphed into an "American badass biker" and now some cowboy ripoff it'd probably look like shit.
gWIL Posted November 12, 2005 Report Posted November 12, 2005 Her's what I would do, Long announces that Batista is unable to compete only to have Dave come out and say he can still win and wants a title defense at Survivor Series. A Fatal 4-Way Elimination #1 Contendership Match is made between Guerrero vs Lashley vs Mysterio vs Orton. Lashley picks up the huge upset and at Survivor Series it's the injured Champion vs the Rookie (who is in his first title match, ever) and to the marks it's unclear who will win. Lashley wins a short match and is suddenly a main event player, but is still unproven. He can be like Tommy Gunn in Rocky 5 in that he's the champ but he's not the best. They could even make look like they were trying to keep the title on him and isn't quite facing main event talent. This leads to Batista/Lashley 2 for Mania where Lashley tries to prove he is better than Batista and depending on how his reign goes he can retain it or drop it and turn heel. This only works if Dave can work a short match. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ahem............Worst Idea EVERRRRR <{POST_SNAPBACK}> May I ask what you don't like about it? If you're just going to point to Lashley being young ang green, that's the point of the angle.
Hunter's Torn Quad Posted November 12, 2005 Report Posted November 12, 2005 The fans would shit all over Lashley with a great big dump if they put the title on him. It's a terrible idea.
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted November 12, 2005 Report Posted November 12, 2005 After all, remember Tommy Gunn did get shit on after winning the championship. Though that was more due to him abandoning Rocky for the Don King type manager.
gWIL Posted November 12, 2005 Report Posted November 12, 2005 The point is he would intentionally be booked as a face who got heel heat. The people would be clamoring for Batista to realize that Lashley can't beat him and to destory him. Like the fight in Rocky 5 that happened outside the bar.
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted November 12, 2005 Report Posted November 12, 2005 You'd bury Lashley and the belt by intentionally getting him booed as a face?
Hunter's Torn Quad Posted November 12, 2005 Report Posted November 12, 2005 The point is he would intentionally be booked as a face who got heel heat. The people would be clamoring for Batista to realize that Lashley can't beat him and to destory him. Like the fight in Rocky 5 that happened outside the bar. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It wouldn't be the right kind of heat. The title would be a joke because the people would know it's on a wrestler who isn't very good and hasn't really done anything of note. There are so many holes in this idea. It would be a disaster waiting to happen.
gWIL Posted November 12, 2005 Report Posted November 12, 2005 In a way, it would be so he appears to weak champion and could eventionally lead to him turning on Batista because of the crowd and Batista would begin to realize that he could defeat Lashley. "The title would be a joke because the people would know it's on a wrestler who isn't very good and hasn't really done anything of note." JBL. He is now seen as a legit main eventer, or at the very least upper midcarder.
naiwf Posted November 12, 2005 Report Posted November 12, 2005 Why exactly are you so intent on stealing a storyline from the shittiest of the four shitty Rocky sequels?
Hunter's Torn Quad Posted November 12, 2005 Report Posted November 12, 2005 Why exactly are you so intent on stealing a storyline from the shittiest of the four shitty Rocky sequels? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> A shitty storyline for a shitty idea.
gWIL Posted November 12, 2005 Report Posted November 12, 2005 I admit there might be holes, what are some you see?
Hunter's Torn Quad Posted November 12, 2005 Report Posted November 12, 2005 I admit there might be holes, what are some you see? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It would be easier to point out the non-holes. There you go.
Hunter's Torn Quad Posted November 12, 2005 Report Posted November 12, 2005 How 'bout a real reply? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> How about a real idea, and not something that has all the cohesion of water.
naiwf Posted November 12, 2005 Report Posted November 12, 2005 Swiss cheese has some holes, your idea is nothing BUT holes. Lashley has now been on TV a grand total of 8 times, and you want him to dominate Batista who hasn't lost a meaningful match in about a year or so. As if that wasn't bad enough, then you want Lashley to retain the title for 4 1/2 months or so and be involved in a Main Event at WrestleMania! That's basically all you need to know about why the idea sucks. Seriously, there's nothing good about it.
