You can go to the main page of http://www.spiketv.com and then temporarily allow popups to bring up their utter nightmare of a voting page. KISS applies, guys. Nominees for Game of the Year are FEAR, World of Warcraft (which came out in late 2004...but that was right about the time the last show was out anyway), Resident Evil 4, God of War and Call of Duty 2. Yes, no Madden. I'm shocked too. 50 cent's game is nominated for best Action game. WTF?! There's now individual and team sports categories...and Winning Eleven is nominated for team sports. Hm... Guitar Hero is up for Best Soundtrack. We Love Katamari up for Best Original Score. Shaolin Monks nominated for "Best Fighting Game?" Fight Night R2 is there too. Perfect Dark Zero up for best FPS...even though no one owns a full version now. Best Heldheld game is missing Dawn of Sorrow. GTA is included because it's GTA, not because it's any good. PDZ shouldn't be up for one either. Seriously I think someone needs to write Spike and tell them to start picking better nominees for their awards, and Madden should never ever be considered for a game of the year award. It's very possible casuals who own a PS2 for Madden and GTA would vote it over everything else. However, you don't announce GotY at the beginning of the show. You don't watch the Oscars and then, 2 seconds into the show, see some moronic guest speaker yell "BEST PICTURE IS RAAAAAAAY!!! JAMIE FOXX YOU MAH NIGGAH!" The fact that it is "fueled by Dew" is only product placement and has nothing to do with whether or not you are drinking Mountain Dew or any of its family members while playing this addictive game. jwpeer 0 Report post Posted November 9, 2005 Well World of Warcraft DOES deserve the most addictive fueld by Dew award, as MMORPG's can be addictive. And why Samuel L. Jackson? What does he have to do with video games?!!? These nominations are a joke. Some of their awards are just lame. Best Performance, Male? Is this just designed to give 50 cent a bunch of lame awards for his shitty game. The funny thing is the two best games outside of FEAR are only represented in the Original Score section (We love Katamari and Indigo Prophecy?!?!) i guess Tekken 5 is the best fighting game of the yeart (I don't like the series, but nothing else great has come out, SC3 isn't really that super either) FEAR is probably gonna win most of the awards (and probably should win the best overall game award out of the other choices) But it's certainly not a better overall game than Indigo Prophecy (which the more i think about it was my best game of the year, if only because of the innovation and fun story) X-Men Legends II is barely an rpg. I love the game, but there needs to be a "Best Diablo Clone" category :) Best RPG was Digital Devil Saga: Avatar Tuner (part I) that's excluding DW8 which according to all reviews is f'in amazing (i'll be picking it up on tuesday for sure) Yeah this sucks. T5 is not just the best fighter this year but the best 3D fighter overall of any year. Usually this time of year I know what is going to be my GOTY. It's going to be hard this year. Haven't had a chance to play FEAR but since my comp is old by computer terms (2 years old, yeesh) I doubt I'll get to play it at all. Completely appropos of nothing in this thread, had a chance to try out the 360 demo at Best Buy today. Call of Duty 2 looked pretty good. Still trying to figure out what to get for launch. Since Elder Scrolls got pushed back and Gun now appears to be more of a rental, I'm thinking about NFS: Most Wanted and Ghost Recon 3. Criminal Origins and Kameo still look good though. I believe COD2 is a different game. The GameSpot preview said that it's for PC and 360. Actually, now that i've looked, yes it's 2 different games. The current generation consoles get COD2: Big Red One, which is just the American 1st Infantry Division. COD2 for 360 does the multiple storylines from COD with American, English, and Russians. Nothing stands out. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> This is something I agree with, and is the main reason i consider Indigo Prophecy my GOTY. It's the only game i've played this year that's truly stood out from the pack and brought something new, fresh, and amazing to the table. The only competition would be Phantom Dust. In fact they're pretty much dead even in my eyes. but these are not mainstream games, so there's little chance of anyone ever giving them any pub. Which is sad. I've been on here for years and there are still things I don't know how to do when it comes to posting, anyways. Some of the winners are justified but some will just blow your mind.
