Xbox 360

I remember the first time I picked up the Tiger Woods series, the 2004 edition, and how four of our college dorm mates and I created one character each and went through the game together until we maxed out our attributes. And it was a great three months.

It took me three years until I finally returned, and the '07 edition is somehow even light-years better than the '04 edition. If you like the demo, GET THIS GAME. I was torn between picking up Crackdown and Street: Homecourt in the next few weeks via GameFly, but this game made that decision easy. Neither.

Yes. 2004 was the first year to implement GameFace, and the series has only got better (save 2006's 360 edition). It's a shame the online is so half-assed, but offline play is one of the deepest games I've ever played, they finally (for the most part) made scores realistic on the hardest setting (it's nice to win a tournament at -10 instead of -50). The one thing I've always wanted was a little better GameFace, in the sense that saving only four profiles and having to switch back and forth is kind of cumbersome. I'd love to see a nationality and Ryder/President's Cup mode, and maybe even a Nationwide Tour/Q-School option.

I really don't know the difference, as I have not played any of the Tom Clancy games except for a very brief foray into the original Splinter Cell.

I normally wouldn't care either way, to tell the truth, but 2 of my Live friends who I have played with for over 2 years now (and have actually met in person) have been playing Vegas almost exclusively since they got 360s over the past 2 months.

The main difference is the combat zones, in Vegas it's a lot more close quarters combat with more SMG, Shotguns, Handguns and different grenades (frag, incindiery, smoke, flash, tear). With GRAW its more wide open spaces with rocks and such, not as many buildings, more long range rifles, and some different technology.

I prefer the close quarter combat in urban areas (fighting in a Casino is awesome). GRAW/GRAW2 are fun but I just dont dig the 3rd world country open area fighting as much.

Just need the create a swing option like 2005.

Maybe this was answered somewhere else, but I finally bought a cat5 cable to hook up to Xbox live. Is there a way to merge the gamertag that has been on my 360 since day 1 with my gamertag that I created online when registering my 360? It's the same handle but I really don't want to have to unlock all those achievements again.

If I understand what your asking, correctly, no I don't think you can have two sepearte gamertags merge together. Why do you have two seperate gamertags?

Because I didn't have an extra cat5 cable long enough to run to my house's router when I set up my 360

Damnit, I just got the "Red Ring of Death" on the front of my 360, and the person I bought it from bought it over a year ago. Luckily that same person got the 2 year service plan at Best Buy, so I can just go take care of it tomorrow.

Still sucks, I just got COD3 from Gamefly and I can't try it out.

LOL Best Buy is so much easier than dealing with Microsoft. I went in they made sure it was unrepairable, and I grabbed a new one. Took 20 minutes and I have a new Xbox.

Has it been talked about in this thread yet, that Microsoft is planning on releasing HDs with larger capacity and enabling DVR capabilities in the 360?

I'm not sure if it has, but the DVR thing has got me excited. From what I hear though, it's only gonna work on super high speed internet connections. Makes me wish I could afford better than DSL. Oh well, still works for playing online.

I think it will be pretty cool, I wonder how much bigger HDs will cost? I already have a DVR but know many people with a 360 that do not, so I think this idea is pure genius by MS.

Hey guys.

Have any of you ever gotten a "this disc is unreadable" message while you're playing a game? This is the second night in a row I've been in the fourth quarter of a game, and gotten this message, even though everything worked flawlessly in the first three. Help would be appreciated.

I've heard of the problem, from what I've read apparrently Microsoft had such a huge demand when they were launching the system, they had to spread the DVD-ROM production between three different companies. I guess one of those companies did a shitty job, and their 1/3 is mainly to blame for the fuckups in the systems. The new 360 I got from Best Buy was a launch system, when I turned it on it thought the date was 11/22/05.

Unfortunately when I play COD3 the system freezes during loading screens, so Im going to BB for a new one today.

As far as your disc error, I would call MS support and see if you need a new system, that sounds like the beginning of bad things to come. I hope you have a replacement plan or are within the 1 year warranty to be safe.

Which company released the shitty drives? I've read that Samsung and Phillips are both good, which would leave the Hitachi as the one. Figures that they would be terrible drives when they're also the hardest to mod.

Hitachi drive has a hole in the top right quadrant of the tray, along with a semi-circle "cut out" right next to the opening in the middle. Samsung doesn't have that, and the Phillips I have no idea.

Crap. Oh well, the only issue I have with my xbox 360 is that its just really loud with some games and thats my only issue with it....now excuse me as I knock on all the walls in my house.

I have the Hitachi drive for XBox1. It's a piece of crap. Not as bad as the notorious Thomson's, but close. Fortunately, they're very cheap (like $20) and easy to replace.
