Cena is booed out of the building against HHH

Recommended Posts

I'm still sticking with my idea of turning Cena heel as a sort of P. Diddy-esqu rapper. Have him wear lots of diamonds witha velour tracksuit and big obnoxious sunglasses. Go back to him doing his freestyles, only specifically on faces. Who can't hate a guy like that (especially when they apparently hate him now)?

Yes, Vyce, I know it. (and "randoism" grows into the lexicon a little more).

And yeah, it is bizarre that the fans would rather cheer HHH over Cena, but HHH went away for a few months and has come back a bit from being such a stale heel - and Cena is still doing what he has been.

If Cena disappeared for three or four months and came back, he'd at least be a little fresher, even if he did the same schtick. He'd probably get one of those huge welcome back pops too (Hell, even HHH got it --- then he turned on Flair).

HHH really has toned down all the stuff we hated him for.  His physique tells us that he's cut back on the roids or stopped them all together as he's starting to get a bit fat.  He hasn't been going over everyone left and right anymore so he's cut back on the politics.  So gradually we've backed off.

How do we know he's cut back on the politics? During this whole Brand Extension Era, hate him or love him, Triple H was really one of the few guys that could carry RAW. RAW was in a sad state from 2002 & 2003, but it overtook SD! as the top brand in 04 because Trips was back on his "game" with Evolution. Triple H is looked upon as the devil on the Internet.

Well, Raw mainly became the top brand again in 2004 because Smackdown went around doing horribly stupid shit like putting the belt on Bradshaw and having Kurt Angle as GM. Raw was not anything real special, it was just the lesser of two evils.

In late 2002, 2003, and early 2004, Smackdown! was amazing, and then after the draft, everything went to hell for some reason or another. One reason (and probably the biggest) was because Brock Lesnar had left the WWE. Another was Kurt Angle was injured and considering retirement. Another was Paul Heyman was removed as booker, and another was because Triple H was drafted to Smackdown! but was drafted back to RAW, sadly. He could have added even more credibility to Smackdown! with brand new feuds (Eddie, Mysterio) and some old ones (Angle, Taker).

Cena doesn't need a big make over. He just needs to be toned down. After he turns heel in a match have him show up the next week in jeans, t-shirt, pair of boots and maybe a skull cap. Lay back on the rhymes and cut a serious, intense, heel promo.

The white thug gimmick is cheesy and turning a lot of people off.

Nah, just have him start rapping in Arabic jibberish.

"أنت، في سلسلة النّاجين، كيرت آنجيل الوجه،

سأركله سيّئ جدًّا، سأجعل كراته تتدلّى !"

Smackdown may have been superior to Raw at that time, but it was most definitely not 'amazing'. Remember, SD in 2002-2004 was dominated by such atrocities as the neverending Al Wilson saga, a Vince McMahon vs Zach Gowen feud, Nathan Jones, Bill DeMott squashing cruiserweights, Brock and Kurt's disappointing (and at times disturbingly homoerotic) feud, A-Train's push, Stephanie McMahon as GM, and Mr. America. People tend to remember the great Smackdown Six matches, but they were hardly representative of the era.

A-Train was bland and boring but I'll be damned if he didn't bust his ass every time the bell rang.

Well now that he's on RAW and the censors are less anal than UPN's, why can't he go back to doing Freestyles?

See, this is a big problem I had with Cena. The fact that he was a jerk in a funny way was what got him over. When they turned him face based on his crowd reactions, he began to lose that dickish edge he had and, for me anyway, that which made me interested in him. He's a forced face. They did that with Rock too to an extent, but I think Rock is just more talented overall hence why I still enjoyed him.

The problem is WWE saw the forumla with Austin & Rock, and now they want it to be that easy for EVERY ME'er.

The thing with Austin and Rock was, they were basically faces, working as heels, by the time they were turned. Not the case with Cena.

This is why I say taking the belt off Cena because the fans are booing is not the answer. I really think the fans are booing Cena because he is NOT the same Cena they were cheering for in the first place. The fans want the old Cena back. This happend with HBK and Diesel's reign. Once the company took the belt off them and gave them their attitude back the fans started to cheer them again. It wasn't that the fans hated their reign, but it was that they were no longer the same characters with the strap the fans wanted to see(well Diesel had more problems such as crappy competition such as King Mabel, but Cena right now has friggin Kurt Angle who IS more entertaining at the moment). The wwe just has to let Cena do what brought him to the dance and maybe he'll help turn around the fans booing him.

It doesn't matter. He's still stale as shit on top and they just need to put the title on someone else. I'm all for keeping things fresh and this is not 1986 anymore where guys can hold belts ad nauseum.

I said it earlier in other threads, but there has to be a catalyst for Cena to get that edge back. Right now what's his catalyst for busting out freestyle raps again, or acting heelish? He's got the belt, he's on top of the world. Something like losing the title and having fans boo him is a catalyst for going back to his old self.

Bullshit. Smackdown started declining when Brock Lesnar left and RAW was just as shit when HHH was running his stale title runs. I n 02 and 03 smackdown had better world champions and better matches while HHH was stinking up the hole main event scene. And Evolution was the most forgettable stable ever. They hardly made a "DX" impact.

Good stuff, this one is my favorite:

I'd like to take this time to say thank you to Brock.

Shattered my knee on TV, and now I can't walk

It's official, I got crippled by the meathead

But Brock, you left me breathing, when you should've left me for dead

So, I swear John Cena is a name you'll remember

From this point on, I declare war on Brock Lesnar

This is more than a match, this is a total obsession

I'll be watching everything you do twenty four/seven

Forcing you to keep me in the back of your mind,

'cause your brain's so small, I won't be hard to find

I'll break you down, watch you drown, and not throw a rope

This is jail, Brock, we inmates - you just dropped the soap!

Word, life.

That last line is probably the best of Cena's homosexual references.

Off topic, but...

Dancing%20Eliza.gif

Damn, if she isn't dancing perfectly in sync to the song I'm listening to right now.

She's grown up a lot since True Lies. B-)

And I think if you're gonna have a character change in Cena, he definitely would need to do something drastic like drop the title. Survivor Series is the perfect time in my opinion. Booking logic would dictate since Cena hasn't been able to go over Angle in a while, that he'll overcome the near impossible odds and retain the title and probably wind up losing the title to Edge or something(god, what a boring feud that would be). I think that's probably the plan they had all along, but sometimes you have to change things based on fan reactions. If Angle won on Sunday, I think there's no doubt he'd get at least a decent pop. This would be the perfect spot for Cena to turn heel or tweak his character or whatever. He can't beat Angle, then he loses again, and HIS fans cheer? Besides the fact that putting the title on Angle, to me, is a good idea 99.9% of the time.

It doesn't have two of my favorite Cena raps, namely the borderline racist rap against Eddie ("You work at Taco Bell handin me the mild sauce") and the rap before his match against Brock where he got injured ("That's a nice tattoo of your mother on your back")

I remember Cena also has a freestlye in September of '03 which was edited because Cena said something about John Ritter (this was a week or two after Ritter's death).

The Eddie rap:

I'm about to show you I can whip a Latino

You run from me like you run from El Nino

Hot like jalapeno stuck on an enchilada

I'm a rottweiler, you's a Mexican chihuahua

You gots nada, don't bother the crew bro

Stick to salsa and listen to Menudo

You hate me cause I'm white, that's reverse discrimination

I hate you for two words: "Illegal immigration"

I'll beat you down here, then I make you humble

Beat you today then again at Royal Rumble

I never fumble, got you locked with these big hits

Eddie cut the mullet now it's time you got your wig split

Yo, sit back and listen to the boss

You work at Taco Bell handin' me the mild sauce

Take the loss, know that you're phony

I got coconuts, you got no cajones

The Brock Rap:

" This is serious now. Kill the beat.

Yo, people think I'm crazy. That's what everyone is telling me.

That me beating you is like you winning a spelling bee.

That's okay because tonight I silence them all.

You're a Neanderthal. So I'll use words that are small.

"Me Brock Lesnar. Here comes the pain!

God build me strong. Forget to give me brain."

You hop around all day like there's potatoes in your crack.

That's a nice tattoo of your mother on your back.

Yo. I'm untouchable you can't beat my ability.

I'm like a basic math problem Brock. You just can't finish me."

his mannerisms during the Brock impression killed me

My favorite from that website:

"Mess with me, you die slow, and explode, you wide load.

Your BUTT looks like twenty miles of bad road

and I'm here to show everybody where I'm coming from.

Your ass looks like two packs of chewed bubble gum.

This battle is over, I know you can't win this.

You spend your time putting buffets out of business.

So please, freeze, you can't hang on these,

I get the dry heaves when I see your cottage cheese.

You got bad knees, plus you're obese.

You're so fat, when you sweat, you sweat grease.

SO please, it's over, don't bother trying,

call back Jared and get on Subway's diet."

I'm guessing that was against Rikishi

That's the kind of stuff I miss from Cena

I believe the worst was when Carlito debuted. Cena's original promo was for him to put over the US title, so it would seem like a big idea when Carlito won it from him later on in the night. Instead, creative thought it would be better for Cena to come out, and crack gay jokes on Michael Cole.

He's never recovered.

So last night's crowd was split. With the way Cena's getting booed for fans wanting to see him lose the strap I think he's getting a better reaction than JBL did for his long title reign. Let's also remember Cena is actualy perhaps the longest reigning babyface champion since Diesel. He's lasted some time without backlash. What if they went with Hogan/Cena instead of Cena/HHH for Mania where it was Hogan's last match ever  *I know* and Cena went in as heel champion?

The problem is pehraps the movie Cena has coming out next year and the wwe not wanting to turn him heel. I actually think he'll get the Rock treatment of 2003 where the fans started backing him anyways for not being so stale.
