The Yankees threw out the names of Cano and Chien-Ming Wang in passing as possibilities for Willis, the Marlins' dynamic lefthander, but the Marlins told them it would take a lot more than that, according to a person familiar with the negotiations. Also, if the A's get Milton Bradley, the Yankees should seriously look into getting Mark Kotsay. Kotsay has a no trade clause for 2006 as part of the new deal signed this past year. But that may all be meaningless at this moment as apparantly Peter Gammons says the Bradley deal may not go through. Other A's speculation by him is that they are very close to signing Frank Thomas and have become the favorites to trade for David Wells for Justin Duchscherer.
