Miami Vice Teaser Trailer

Eh, i'll admit... I am a sucker for the mindless big budget action flim. Not all of them, but a few do hold a place in my movie-goer heart.

I'll have faith in this due to...

1. It being directed by Michael Mann

2. Jamie Foxx seems to get better in each picture (I won't count "Stealth" since that was pre-oscar)

Any thoughts?

The theme wasn't heard anywhere in the trailer. No way it'll be good. It MUST have that theme. It'll probably end up being a normal big-budget movie that just happens to be called Miami Vice and has characters with the same names.

I'd rather see a Bacardi and Cola movie.

me too....seriously!

I was being serious. I'd go see that movie twice. For full price!

Speaking of B&C, is it just me or is the guy playing the white guy in those commercials David Rees Snell from "The Shield"? Cause I've looked on the internet, ever since those ads first started airing and haven't been able to find out the names of the two actors to confirm my theory that it's him in those commercials....

Those movies would kick ass, but we need M.A.S.K. as a blockbuster trilogy. Tell me that wouldn't rock out with its proverbial cock out.

I might go see this, but honestly, the only thing this film looks to have in common with the original 80s TV series is Michael Mann and the name.

That's not just Jamie Foxx, everybody gets that "Oscar Winnner" tagged attached to their name.

This may turn out decent. But when I heard that Michael Mann was actually directing, it just seems like a waste of his time.

I'm sure he sees the show as his baby since he was executive producer for the series.

That and IIRC he owns a rather large piece of the rights to the show; supposedly that's why he's involved in the movie remake of the series, since early reports was that the studio wanted to repeat what was done with Startsky and Hutch (take the name of the franchise and basically turn it into a "Let's mock the decade show came out during" farce with little to no connection to the TV series) and Mann refused to allow them to make it into a film unless he was in charge of making the film so as to ensure the property wasn't soundly trashed for the sake of a bunch of lame 80s jokes......

Is this film supposed to even be set in the 80s?

I'll have to look at the trailer again but I didn't seem to get that vibe. Maybe I wasn't paying attention.
