CanadianChris Posted July 28, 2006 Report Posted July 28, 2006 It's ben ten fucking years since Bailey's double gold at the Atlanta Games. Geez, I'm old. I was getting ready to write my very last set of finals at university when I watched that.
CanadianGuitarist Posted July 28, 2006 Report Posted July 28, 2006 Hell, I feel old, and I still can't drive a cab for insurance reasons.
MFer Posted July 30, 2006 Report Posted July 30, 2006 Anyone else catch that story about Justin Gatlin testing postive for high testosterone levels?
Mole Posted July 30, 2006 Report Posted July 30, 2006 Okay, why does ESPN.com have the Yankees number 2 in the power rankings WHEN THEY AREN'T EVEN IN FIRST PLACE??? That doesn't make ANY sense. Â God, I fuckin hate how they blow the shit out of them.
CanadianGuitarist Posted August 5, 2006 Report Posted August 5, 2006 Anyone see the Buick Open on Saturday afternoon? I'd never seen a "Let's go Tiger" chant anywhere. But it's not a partisan crowd, Mike Weir was also welcomed with O Canada. I don't remember the crowds being this excited at this tournament before. It's not like Phoenix though, they're still being respectful.
CanadianChris Posted August 6, 2006 Report Posted August 6, 2006 I must've missed that part. The crowd did seem genuinely into it, though. Â I just realized I'm going to be on vacation and away from a TV for PGA Championship weekend.
Bored Posted August 12, 2006 Report Posted August 12, 2006 A letter sent to Mickey Mantle in 1973 by the Yankees to ask about his favorite Yankee Satdium moments  Mickey's answer
devo Posted August 12, 2006 Report Posted August 12, 2006 At first, I read that as by the Yankee bullpen, as in they're the ones who performed the act.
Vern Gagne Posted August 12, 2006 Report Posted August 12, 2006 Why can't todays players be more like the Mick?
KingPK Posted August 14, 2006 Report Posted August 14, 2006 I went to Saratoga Racecourse this weekend. Even if you aren't that into horse racing it's a great place to spend the day sitting outside under the shade of a big tree and blowing your money one $2 trifecta at a time. Â I won one stinkin' bet for $30, by the way.
fisticuffs Posted August 17, 2006 Report Posted August 17, 2006 <------- 2006-07 NPOY Â It's Hansbrough, btw.
RepoMan Posted August 20, 2006 Report Posted August 20, 2006 I really hate the Little League World Series. Do we really need to know who has the best 12 year old players in the world?
devo Posted August 20, 2006 Report Posted August 20, 2006 Haha, I love Tiger Woods. You can see him gradually getting visibly more disgusted with this idiotic crowd as the day draws to a close.
Bored Posted August 21, 2006 Report Posted August 21, 2006 I don't care about the Little League World Series but check out the 6' 8", 256 lbs, "13 year old" first baseman for Saudi Arabia. Â
devo Posted August 21, 2006 Report Posted August 21, 2006 What's more, he appears to be the only non-Aryan on the team.
devo Posted August 21, 2006 Report Posted August 21, 2006 I really do like MLB.TV, but man I wish they wouldn't make me watch the lame commercials of their corporate sposnors before giving me the game feed. It's for basically the same reason that I virtually never go to the movies these days.
Gert T Posted August 22, 2006 Report Posted August 22, 2006 During their banter segment on ESPN today, Mike Ditka told Irvin that TO looked good in the shower......
Damaramu Posted August 22, 2006 Report Posted August 22, 2006 I don't care about the Little League World Series but check out the 6' 8", 256 lbs, "13 year old" first baseman for Saudi Arabia.  That's a joke......right? Right?
Vern Gagne Posted August 22, 2006 Report Posted August 22, 2006 No joke. They have another kid who is 6-3 190 lbs. Big Oil is ruining the LLWS.
alfdogg Posted August 22, 2006 Report Posted August 22, 2006 Since when are 13 year-olds allowed in Little League, anyway. As far as I've always known 12 was the oldest you could be.
Damaramu Posted August 22, 2006 Report Posted August 22, 2006 Are they even 12 year olds? Or is that the joke? I thought that they were just messing around on Benchwarmers but that really happens?
Vern Gagne Posted August 22, 2006 Report Posted August 22, 2006 New rules this year. Players can be 13 years old. I don't think you can have a birth year of 1992.
alfdogg Posted August 23, 2006 Report Posted August 23, 2006 My dad was telling me tonight about ESPN doing a 5-second delay now on the LLWS, since this kid from Staten Island dropped the F-bomb on TV...apparently the coach was miked, and said "we need some hits!" and the kid then said "yeah, we need some fuckin' hits!" Â Did anyone else see this.
jwest27 Posted August 23, 2006 Report Posted August 23, 2006 I saw a video of that on Around The Horn. Censored, of course. It came out of nowhere, and made me laugh quite a bit.
devo Posted August 23, 2006 Report Posted August 23, 2006 Staten Island's Little League organization seems to be kinda scuzzy in general... Â http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/14457297/
razazteca Posted August 23, 2006 Report Posted August 23, 2006 Are they even 12 year olds? Or is that the joke? I thought that they were just messing around on Benchwarmers but that really happens? those kids will be in the New York Yankees minor league system soon just like that one kid from the Dominican Republic that married his 30 something tudor.
treble Posted August 23, 2006 Report Posted August 23, 2006 I can't believe people are actually getting mad at the coach for smacking the kid who swore. Blowing it way out of proportion, as usual. 'OMG HE SLAPPED HIM THINK OF THE CHILDREN!!', he just kind of hit him with his hand.
CanadianGuitarist Posted August 23, 2006 Report Posted August 23, 2006 I can't believe people are actually getting mad at the coach for smacking the kid who swore. Blowing it way out of proportion, as usual. 'OMG HE SLAPPED HIM THINK OF THE CHILDREN!!', he just kind of hit him with his hand. Â I'm still repeating to myself that the LITTLE LEAGUE WORLD SERIES is on tape delay. Â Although, so were the World Curling Championships last spring.
Cuban Linx Posted August 23, 2006 Report Posted August 23, 2006 Saudi Arabian 1st Basemen must age at the same rate as South American Pitchers.
