Enigma 0 Report post Posted January 4, 2006 Ted Dibiase's collapse caused issues back stage. People were pissed it got leaked to the internet. Who broke the story? WWE.com Gold. Kind of reminds me of that stockholders conference call where Linda McMahon blamed Smackdown's sagging ratings in 2001 on internet spoilers, and someone informed her that WWF.Com gave away very detailed text and video spoilers complete with pictures of what was going to be seen. The next week, WWF.Com's spoilers suddenly vanished and never returned. Speaking of Money In The Bank, if the plans are for HHH vs. Cena and Batista vs. Orton... ...what the hell is Edge going to do with his title shot?
Karc 0 Report post Posted January 4, 2006 Bischoff was GM when the Edge won the thing. Bischoff is no longer GM. The title shot is null and void. Edge is carrying around a briefcase full of nothing. Well, that'll be the reason when the angle is dropped.

Edge is carrying around a briefcase full of nothing. Well, that'll be the reason when the angle is dropped. They probably won't even do that much. They'll just let Wrestlemania come and go and still call Edge "Mr. Money in the Bank" and have him carry around the briefcase, but never mention that the contract inside is expired. 10 Pounds 0 Report post Posted January 4, 2006 Oh man, that Marcellus Wallace thing is gold. I hope that the briefcase is a one like D-Fens has in Falling Down, with only an apple in it.
cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted January 4, 2006 No, they'll have some sort of payoff at the Rumble or something, where Edge cashes it in (he'll be the new IC champ and "on a roll"). Then he'll of course job to whoever has the belt (Cena?) due to some goofy Flair run in or something of that nature. Then at WM Edge will be outraged and want another MITB type contract so they'll do a similar match with all the upper card challengers involved.

Lord of The Curry 0 Report post Posted January 5, 2006 He's put in an industry where physical injuries and retirement due to them are common. He picked his poison and now he's living with it. Boo-fucking-hoo. Did I wish death on him? No. Did I wish injury on him? Noooope. So....let's see here I.........wait a minute. Now I know what I did wrong. I forgot to care. I wish I could remember a monologue from David Cross where he goes off on people who care about everything. Very fitting.

I wish I could remember a monologue from David Cross where he goes off on people who care about everything. Very fitting. He came from a family of pro wrestlers so chances are this is a much bigger blow to him personally than any of us will ever understand. Possibly the only thing he ever wanted to do. He was also injured in an attempt to entertain a bunch of ungrateful bastards like us who would only care about him being injured if his workmanship was that of Chris Benoit's. Let the people who give two shits about the dude being dealt some bad luck express that sentiment. And there was never any Dupree/Patterson connection, that was Sylvan. Dupree was a prospect from OVW, multi generation wrestler like Orton and The Rock, who was rushed to the main roster entirely too soon. Sylvan's spot was a favor to Patterson from everything that I've read.

Guest RadioBurning Report post Posted January 5, 2006 Stagger Lee needs more love did Kellogs really need to hire someone to say "Theyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy'rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreeeeeeeeeeeee GREAT!" given how many times the old guy that died had probably said it? Interesting fact: The same guy that was the voice of Tony the Tiger, was also the guy who sang The Grinch Song. And "No Dogs Allowed", from Charlie Brown. His voice and his name being Thurl Ravenscroft make him one of my favorite guys.

I'm not saying everyone here is sincere about their feelings about his situation, but ther'es also nothing wrong with not liking a guy for the wrestler he is, but empathizing with him for the blow he's been dealt. Masked Man of Mystery 0 Report post Posted January 5, 2006 I had big hopes for Rene, actually. He was decent enough at 20 working with Cena during his summer long USA vs. France/Japana run and thought he could gte better with time. That sucks, man.

BruiserKC 0 Report post Posted January 5, 2006 I know we've all learned to say "Never Say Never" when it comes to wrestling...like Vince giving ECW a PPV or Hulk Hogan getting one final World title run, etc...but I think it's safe to say that we will NEVER, EVER, EEEEEEVER, see Bret Hart in a WWE ring again. CBright7831 0 Report post Posted January 5, 2006 Hogan v. anyone other than Austin is going to be the shits too, BTW. Orton/Batista has no right being on Mania either. I've said it before: Hogan/Foley (as Cactus Jack) makes as much sense as anything. One is the politician that wouldn't lay down for anyone (unless it helped him in the long run), the other was a relatively altruistic wrestler that did what was right for the company. Plus, both could shill their side projects (Hogan Knows Best DVD, and Foley's book-of-the-year). And, if nothing else, Foley could probably carry Hogan in the promos & match, something that Austin couldn't do at this point. What's sad is the fans would still rally around Hogan, even after his asshole backstage politics were exposed.

NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted January 6, 2006 Ya know most of the time I always end up watching WM even if ON PAPER the card doesn't look so great, but I swear to christ if those matches listed in this thread end up being the Main Events, I am not watching the fuckin' thing this year even if it is free. SuperJerk 0 Report post Posted January 6, 2006 Vince is now obsessed with getting Bret to work an angle. He wants bret to ref the WM match between he and Shawn. Manias other headliners are still to be: HHH vs Cena, Batista vs Orton and Hogan vs Show, Angle, or Cena HHH vs Cena is the only thing close to something that would interest me, even though I know the match would suck hard. Even the WWE must realize Orton in the main event, after the way he's been repeatedly jobbed out to the Undertaker, is a terrible idea. This will make the third year in a row he'll be yanked from the main event if they decided not to do it.
