EricMM 0 Report post Posted March 15, 2006 The look on Vic's face when he realized he got to fuck Kav's ex was such pure evil, it was greatness.
randomguy 0 Report post Posted March 15, 2006 It looked to me that they placed a spare mask over the guard's head and it was going to get twisted around so he could see everyone's faces (it appeared to have eyeholes in it) and then the 1-9ers would off him. I didn't see the Kern thing coming at all even though it did seem strange to me when that other thug stepped in when they were arguing and was like "let's leave this personal shit in the past and get it done!" And that was harsh when they were deciding what to do about Kern. To some degree I think they genuinely liked Kern. These guys are good guys that have a lot of bad in them, and Kern was a bad guy with a lot of good in him. What could they do? Drive him to the hospital? I thought at the end when Vic kissed the lawyer chick instead of talking to her about Lem that he might actually keep his entire meeting with Antwon a secret and let Lem die in prison. That would have been just amazingly evil.
Guest Brian Report post Posted March 15, 2006 I'm thinking Kavanaugh is ready to snap and he rapes Corrine, or at least attempts, and that gives Vic a chance to off him. But for some odd reason, I get the feeling that Lem is going to off himself next week. And how about Julian steppin' it up with the suspect. Dutch has always eyed his female compatriot and not him, so this may be a pretty nice swerve on who get to the detective position. Claudette is going to die by the end of this whole thing. Even if she is the one to eventually take down the Strike Team at the end of the next half, I can't see it not taking a complete physical and mental toll on her. packwingfn 0 Report post Posted March 16, 2006 The songs are always key. I really like when they played "Trouble" by Coldplay during Season 1's Finale and I really liked the Pumpkins after this episode. Aw man, I am so not making plans next Tuesday.
AnonymousBroccoli 0 Report post Posted March 16, 2006 First, Season 1 is starting tonight at 9 on Spike TV (US only). Second, the new episode that aired last night on FX doesn't seem to be on in Canada on CH until this coming Sunday, the 19th, at 10. Sorry if this has already been mentioned. I'm avoiding new posts for last night's spoilers.
teke184 0 Report post Posted March 16, 2006 Agreed on the music... "Disarm" by Smashing Pumpkins at the end of this ep may have finally displaced "Overcome" by Live from after the Money Train heist as the most appropriate song used on the show.
BlackFlagg 0 Report post Posted March 16, 2006 that's a good one, one of my favs is Breakdown at the beginning of Partners from season
haws bah gawd 0 Report post Posted March 16, 2006 Agreed on the music... "Disarm" by Smashing Pumpkins at the end of this ep may have finally displaced "Overcome" by Live from after the Money Train heist as the most appropriate song used on the show. I finally saw the money train heist not too long ago, and listening to Overcome brough more chills to me than almost anything I can remember. The producers of this show always know the perfect song to fit the mood.
JasonX 0 Report post Posted March 16, 2006 It looked to me that they placed a spare mask over the guard's head and it was going to get twisted around so he could see everyone's faces (it appeared to have eyeholes in it) and then the 1-9ers would off him The ski mask was one of those gimmicky ones where there is a hood sewn inside the ski-maks so that the hood prevents the person wearing the ski-mask from seeing out the eye holes of the ski mask. Claudette is going to die by the end of this whole thing. Even if she is the one to eventually take down the Strike Team at the end of the next half, I can't see it not taking a complete physical and mental toll on her. Regarding Claudette, the big thing towards her survival will be if Dutch doesn't bail on her after their latest fight. As seen in season three, Claudette NEEDS Dutch by her side to keep her from going over the edge mentally in pursuit of her enemies, both real and imaginary. If they don't reconcile (and Claudette reaching out to Billings of all people is not a good sign towards Claudette surrounding herself with wise council given the comments about how he thought Lupis was a mental illness) I can see bad things ahead for Claudette. Guest Brian Report post Posted March 16, 2006 I think the fact that Dutch turned down the same job on her advice will weight into the animosity and friction between the two.

Lt. Al Giardello 0 Report post Posted March 16, 2006 I just wanted to add, I'm one of the few people pulling for Kavanaugh. Sure the man has a temper problem, but he is doing what is right and is a man of principals. He tried his best to get Lem to avoid any jail time, but the "unity" of the Strike team got to him. That might end up biting him in the ass if Antwon gets to him. Kavanaugh is just doing his job. Vic deverse to get whats coming to him after all the deaths on his corrupt soul. Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted March 16, 2006 If this IS the last season then I see Vic going down. The show will probably end on a moral high note. I hope it's not the end though, I was a season with Claudette in charge
Zetterberg is God 0 Report post Posted March 17, 2006 Another great episode. Kavanaugh's rant was awesome and true. If Forrest Whitaker doesn't get at least an Emmy nod it will be highway robbery.
JasonX 0 Report post Posted March 20, 2006 Shitload of spoilers, as two very very different sets of major major spoilers have been leaked onto the net regarding the finale these last couple of days. Both may be fake so take each of them with a grain of salt: Two scenerios have been leaked out for the finale: The first one is a really really dark culling of the cast. The entire Strike Team save for Vic are written out: Lem is forced into hiding on a goat farm in Mexico, Shane gets arrested for tax evasion, and Ronnie, well according to this one set of spoilers, Ronnie is killed by the villain of the week when he has to try to take the guy down by himself while Vic and Shane are getting Lem to safe. Ronnie's death is the point of no return towards Kav's turning the entire Barn against him; he catches them shortly after the two return from Mexico, tells them he's going to take them to the Barn for questioning for helping Lem escape and oh by the way, Ronnie's dead. Kav coldly refuses to let them help Dutch (who's been given the job of catching Ronnie's killer) or even phone him with vital information about the killer's possible location. As a result of this, the killer is able to escape and Kav finds everyone at the Barn wanting to kill him because his pettiness has led to a man who murdered a cop to escape from justice. This in turn leads to the preview scenes regarding Danny and her baby. Danny (oblivious to the fact that Ronnie is dead) reveals to Vic that Ronnie is the father of her child and asks Vic for his blessing to start a relationship with Ronnie for the sake of providing their child a two-parent upbringing. This leads to Vic being forced to break the news to Danny that Ronnie is dead and that her child will never know it's father. This leads to the big ending: Kav confronts Vic as he's leaving the Barn for good and there is a big ass confrontration. Kav, realizing that Vic is barely holding himself together as a result of Ronnie being murdered, decides to go for broke in terms of using Vic's grief for one last fuck you. He accuses Vic of orchestrating Ronnie's death via a third party to eliminate the only remaining witness to all of Vic and Shane's evil deeds. Vic has to be physically restrained by Shane as Vic's mask of sanity is ripped off due to Kav's utter disregard to the damage he's done to Lem (now a fugitive) and Ronnie (dead, killer still out there uncaptured because of Kav's pettiness). This sets up the ending, as suddenly several cops show up and announce that Shane is under arrest. Kav gloats that his big suprise arrived ahead of schedule: since he can't get Vic for any crimes, he's arranged for Shane to be arrested for tax evasion just for vengeful spite. Before Shane can be handcuffed, Vic attacks Kav and a violent fight breaks out between the two enemies at long last to end the season, with the entire station having to try (and fail) to break them apart. The second set of spoilers are less dark but more soap operalike: Lem and Claudette are written out: Lem is exiled to Mexico while Claudette dies when she suffers a massive sudden relapse of her lupis, caused after getting into a massive public argument with Dutch that culminates in Dutch telling her that doesn't want to work in the same building as her and that he's filing for a transfer to get away from Claudette. Meanwhile Danny's baby turns out to be Acaveda's kid as Danny confides to Vic that during the gap between seasons four and five, the two had a one time sexual encounter and that Danny is keeping quiet about the thing because she doesn't want to ruin Acaveda's marriage and political career and begs Vic to keep quiet as well. Vic looks ultra-torn because he realizes that he has primo blackmail material on Acaveda but can't fucking use it because of his promise to Danny. Ronnie lives in this set of spoilers, but Shane isn't so lucky; Kav uses information given to him by Antwon Mitchell to get the Chief to keep the investigation of the Strike Team going. Season ends with the battle between the Strike Team and Kavanaugh at a lull; Lem going all fugitive saves the Strike Team for the time being, but Kav is still on their heels and making it clear that he's going to make Shane pay if he can't make Vic pay for his crimes. Cue ending, with Shane looking nervous as his worst nightmare: that one day he'll become a liability to Vic and have to die comes closer and closer to becoming a reality
Lt. Al Giardello 0 Report post Posted March 20, 2006 I'm so tempted to read it, because it's killing me to know what happens, but I just can't. I watched the episode last night. Kavanaugh's rant was intense, "WHAT DOES IT TASTE LIKE? IT TASTES LIKE PISS TO ME!" he went crazy! No matter what happens, I want to see Kavanaugh still on the show. If Forrest doesn't get the emmy, it would be highway robbery.
Darth Vader 0 Report post Posted March 20, 2006 I broke and read Jason's spoiler. This finale is going to kill.
SpikeFayeJettEdBebop 0 Report post Posted March 20, 2006 Yeah, I'm weak as shit. I read the spoiler too and I'm hoping it's the first rather than the second, but either way, I'm still really excited for tomorrow night. Should be an awesome episode.
Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted March 20, 2006 I've managed to go spoiler free...I think I can hold off for the next 28 hours. All I can say is I cannot f*cking wait to see it
Lt. Al Giardello 0 Report post Posted March 21, 2006 You guys are lucky, I have to go through a whole week avoiding spoilers. On Canada it use to be on Wednesdays, but now they switched it to Sundays for some odd reason.
SpikeFayeJettEdBebop 0 Report post Posted March 21, 2006 This season has been good and tomorrow looks great. I know the season isn't over but where do you guys think this season ranks among the others?? I say it's either 1st or 2nd behind the season with the Money Train(a personal favorite of mine).
Lt. Al Giardello 0 Report post Posted March 21, 2006 This is byfar the best season IMO. Because I haven't been this pumped for a TV show, since I can remember. And this has been the best written and acted Season. Anyone get bone chills when Vic and Antwon had that big confrontation, where Antwon said he's gonna get Lemensky killed? Anthony Anderson has suprised me as an actor in this show, I never thought I could actually take him serious, but he proved me wrong in Season 4. Forrest Whitaker has for sure given new legs to the show, I just hope he lives.
BlackFlagg 0 Report post Posted March 21, 2006 As of right now this is my new favorite season, it will take a full repeat viewing to solidify it, but unless they drop the ball tomorrow night<which I don't see happening> the I think this season will stand at the top. SpikeFayeJettEdBebop 0 Report post Posted March 21, 2006 I would def. say that this season has the best cast, and the best acting overall as well. I'd even say it's probably the best written, I dunno, I guess I just have a sweet spot for the Money Train. This season is awefully good though.
Zetterberg is God 0 Report post Posted March 21, 2006 On Canada it use to be on Wednesdays, but now they switched it to Sundays for some odd reason. Yeah that didn't make any sense to me either. I'm downloading the finale because there's no way in hell I'm waiting until Sunday.

I'm downloading the finale because there's no way in hell I'm waiting until Sunday. I'm managing to get decent download speeds again (Rogers and their throttling can eatadick), so I'm sure I'll be watching it sometime Wednesday. Probably again on Sunday, just for the heck of it. Lt. Al Giardello 0 Report post Posted March 21, 2006 LOL, I'll just wait for Sunday, tho the suspense will kill ME. But I can handle it.
Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted March 21, 2006 I'm also jumping on the "this is the best season" bandwagon. Every week I just cannot wait to see what's happening next.
JasonX 0 Report post Posted March 21, 2006 I'm also jumping on the "this is the best season" bandwagon. Every week I just cannot wait to see what's happening next. I can't in good conscience call this season "best season ever" because of the fact that Kavanaugh is consistantly written like a retarded man-child who's incapable of running a serious investigation of the ST. Seriously, the shit he's failed to do that would make perfect sense to a sane person (try to turn Ronnie against Vic, forcing Julian to admit that Vic blackmailed him into recanting his statement that he saw the ST steal drugs from a crime scene, getting Claudette and Dutch to give up their intel on Vic in regards to the Money Train heist and Vic's dealings with Armadillo) is staggering. And Forrest Whittaker's over the top acting isn't helping matters. If the Queen of Over-Acting Glenn Close could fucking tone herself down, why the fuck can't Whittaker? Darth Vader 0 Report post Posted March 21, 2006 I don't think Kavanaugh is supposed to be some sort of genius. He's just a self rightous cock who only wants to take Mackie down to cement his own legacy. He really doesn't give a shit about Terry or the money train. Mackie and Kav are very much alike in that they seem to have the same drive to further themselves personally through "the job" than cleaning up any crimes. Also they have little regaurd for individuals close to them when they fall in the way of their schemes. You could include Acevada in that too. It's not about Vic beating Kavanaugh or vice versa, it will end with them destroying each other.
