RavishingRickRudo Posted January 6, 2006 Report Posted January 6, 2006 http://www.ufc.tv/index.cfm?fa=EventDetail.FightCard&eid=156 Franklin vs. Loiseau GSP vs. Penn Did it just get cold in here? OH CANADDDDDYEEEEEEEAH!
RavishingRickRudo Posted January 6, 2006 Author Report Posted January 6, 2006 *Sam Stout, who has competed in TKO for a few years with an 8-1-1 record has been added to the 3/4 UFC PPV underneath Rich Franklin Vs David Loiseau for the Middleweight Title. No opponent has been named as of yet. From Live Audio Wrestling. Let's get a full Canadian card here
Lei Tong Posted January 6, 2006 Report Posted January 6, 2006 (edited) Florian's most likely going to to sub Stout, and get boliterated in turn by Double 'Er. Edited January 6, 2006 by Lei Tong
Lei Tong Posted January 7, 2006 Report Posted January 7, 2006 Looks like they really are going for the US vs. Canada theme. Stout/Florian is almost a done deal, Sanchez/Goulet looks likely, and Midoux/Tom freakin' Murphy (?!) has been mentioned.
I like Forums Posted January 7, 2006 Report Posted January 7, 2006 If this makes an all Canada vs USA theme, I'm getting on a plane to see this show. I'll be bringing a flag with me as well.
Lord of The Curry Posted January 7, 2006 Report Posted January 7, 2006 Rudo, we need to re-evalute if it's in our best interests to go to Montreal in February or this in March.
Adam Posted January 9, 2006 Report Posted January 9, 2006 Wow. Hurry up and do a PPV deal with Main Event in Australia Dana, and do it FUCKING NOW. GSP-Penn? Sweet.
starvenger Posted January 9, 2006 Report Posted January 9, 2006 and Midoux/Tom freakin' Murphy (?!) has been mentioned. Tom Murphy? The TUF 2 guy?
Lei Tong Posted January 9, 2006 Report Posted January 9, 2006 Yes, proving that almost any TUF competitor can get a UFC fight, no matter how undeserving (though Midoux is prettty mediocre even by HW standards, as well).
Your Paragon of Virtue Posted January 9, 2006 Report Posted January 9, 2006 Who is Double 'Er? Stout is not a natural Welterweight, but neither is Florian, so it should be closer than people think. With Florian's solid chin, he should be able to survive to take it to the ground. Though Fabio grappled with K-Flo and said he's shit, lol.
Lord of The Curry Posted January 12, 2006 Report Posted January 12, 2006 Rumours are now pointing towards Joe Doerkson vs Nathan Marquadt instead of the earlier one that said Horn vs Marquadt.
starvenger Posted January 12, 2006 Report Posted January 12, 2006 Didn't Marquadt fail a steroid test after his snoozefest with Salaverry?
Lei Tong Posted January 12, 2006 Report Posted January 12, 2006 I think the NSAC suspended his sentance about a week ago.
Lord of The Curry Posted January 13, 2006 Report Posted January 13, 2006 Too bad he won't be able to shake the rep of putting on one of the shittier fights in recent UFC history.
Lord of The Curry Posted January 25, 2006 Report Posted January 25, 2006 It would be pertinent to note that courtesy of the KO in Rudo's signature Jonathon Goulet is on medical suspension and will not be facing Diego Sanchez at UFC 58. Goulet's replacement will be John Allesio, whom I know absolutely nothing about.
Lord of The Curry Posted January 25, 2006 Report Posted January 25, 2006 Oh, predictions at the moment (they might change) MW Title Rooting for: Loiseau Expects: Franklin by TKO Penn vs GSP Rooting for: GSP Expects: GSP, somehow.....
starvenger Posted January 25, 2006 Report Posted January 25, 2006 It would be pertinent to note that courtesy of the KO in Rudo's signature Jonathon Goulet is on medical suspension and will not be facing Diego Sanchez at UFC 58. Lord of The Curry Posted January 25, 2006 Report Posted January 25, 2006 Yeah but that kinda woulda spoiled the whole "USA vs Canada" thing they have going on. If The Cat Smasher is up to fighting again UFC really should give us Leben vs Doerkson. Diego vs Burkman (assuming Josh gets another win under his belt) would make a fine match to throw on the TUF III Finale card in October.
Lei Tong Posted January 25, 2006 Report Posted January 25, 2006 Alessio has actually been living in CA for a while, training with Millenia Jiu Jitsu. He's a better striker than Goulet, but I don't think his ground game is as good.
Guest Brian Posted January 26, 2006 Report Posted January 26, 2006 I would go with Diego Burkman on the April UFN card as the main event rather than mess around with trying to fit Diego into the card. TUF alum should be a good draw.
