I like it because of the absurdity of it all. Going into the playoffs, NOONE was predicting they'd even get to the title games, and during the season, it was questionable whether either team would make it. Now that Pittsburgh beat the "best" team in the league (at least record-wise), and both of them can beat a team that clinched playoff berths early in the season this weekend, it's really parity at its finest. Two wild-card teams who went on the road for all of their games to reach the Super Bowl.

Who'd be the bigger underdog?

Carolina would be the underdog...which upsets me as a Steeler fan, because I'd prefer them to be the underdog. We're already getting way too much credit from the press going into Denver...It's not good for us as a team, we always do better when we're 'under the radar'. At least we can't possibly play a home game, though it might be bad karma that Bettis is from Detroit if we make it there.

Still I too am predicting Carolina and Pittsburgh...And I think Pittsburgh is the stronger of those two teams, but of all the other playoff teams their defense scares me the most. I HOPE Seattle wins as I feel the Steelers would match up far better against their team.

As a Browns fan, the AFC Championship Game will be really depressing. I still have nightmares of the Drive and the Fumble. Not to mention the jealousy we Cleveland fans have for the Steelers. To top it off, Denver has 4 of the Browns' defensive linemen from last year.

I look forward to this weekend because I am pretty much 50-50 on who will win both games (although with Foster's injury I am leaning more towards the Seahawks).

Should be a good weekend of football.

Which is funny since Carolina was one of the vogue preseason Super Bowl picks

My uneducated football fan ass is leaning towards a Seahawks/Steelers Superbowl. Seahawks let teams get too close, but when it matters they can turn it on like dynamite. Shaun might still be questionable (Not sure), but they still have Hasselbeck, and he is the fucking man. Carolina is daymn good too, and could take it. Either way, neither team will lose anything by not winning this game in terms of respect in my eyes.

Broncos/Steelers I'm not too sure about. I haven't seen much of the Broncos, but the Steelers were goddamn impressing against the Colts, and turned Peyton into jelly. Steelers are demons at defense, and just punish people, and I'm leaning towards them for that reason...plus, I seen them more during the reg season.

Pittsburgh was picked by Joe Theismann to make it out of the AFC. Just another reason for me to cheer against Pittsburgh...I don't want to live in a world where Joe Theismann is right.

I thought Carolina would make it to the title game going into the playoffs. Not Pittsburgh though, didn't give them a chance against Indy.

I'm hoping for Pittsburgh/Carolina, but don't know what's gonna come of it. That would be exciting as hell, a fresh matchup, not to mention they're both teams I'd like to see get a championship. The Steelers seem like a team of destiny at this point, as even through all the bullshit they put up with against Indy they still managed to win the game.

Pittsburgh at Denver

Hard one to pick since I didn't foresee either of these teams getting to this round in my picks last week. However, even with Cower's meltdowns in the AFC Championship games he's going into someone elses territory for this game and I think the Pittsburgh D will be able to confuse Plummer enough to escape with a win. Plus, I kinda want the Steelers to win just to say that my Bengals lost to the eventual AFC Champs.

Carolina at Seattle

I picked Carolina to come out of the NFC when the playoff bracket was first set and I'm not going to change my prediction here. I just can't get behind Seattle at a game at this level of the playoffs. However, the wild card will be how Carolina fares against a playoff tested quarterback this time around as opposed to Eli and Rex.

Pittsburgh better friggin' win it all after beating the Colts. I'm still pissed.

BUT AT LEAST IT WASN'T THE GOD DAMN PATRIOTS

I think and hope the Seahawks win. Should be an exciting game either way. Shaun's in, DeShaun's out. Y'all are haters.

Honestly, why the Seahawks hate? They play good ball, they're not packed full of arrogant jackasses, They're a complete team. God forbid they win a conference championship for the first time ever!

Pittsburgh's looked demonic lately, but they're playing at Mile High, against a team that isn't rusty or crippled by injury. This game's going to be a lot closer than most think. I hope Denver wins, I don't think they can beat the Hawks at home, but the Steelers definitely can. I'm 50/50, no idea who's going to win.

I could care less about the NFC game

COULDN'T care less.

It's not hate on Seattle, it's more that (in my mind) Carolina's got the coaching and defensive advantages in this game. However, the fact that they have to go cross-country in a hostile environment (though they won in Philly two years ago) and they are down to their third string RB makes me less that 100% certain about picking them, that's for sure.

You do know that neither of these teams will be playing Seattle IN Seattle right(assuming that Seattle beats Carolina)?

Carolina and Denver both win the game late, probably on field goals. AFC title game is going to be low scoring, NFC title game will be high scoring.

Then Denver can do it for the conference in the Super Bowl.

Theismann has been right a few times. He was one of the few who picked the Patriots to defeat the Rams in 2001-2002 Super Bowl. We could end up getting a meeting of the "can't win the big one without..." of NFL coaches if Denver and Seattle advance.

So whichever one loses will continue to get the, "can't win without.." talk for the rest of his career.

I don't want Holmgren to win one without Favre. Especially with Favre's backup.

I just want the 'Hawks to get to the Super Bowl. Obviously, I want them to win, but if they make it to the big game, I think they'll have erased the stigma of being chokers.

The only reason I can think of to hate the 'Hawks is that they've made it to the playoffs a couple times, simply because they played in a shitty division. That talk can be put to rest some this season, though they did have a very easy schedule.

Losing the big game isn't going to erase the stigma of being a choker. It just means they choked on a bigger level.
