A number of WWE trademarks are being opposed by various entities, according to the USPTO website.

_ Wolverine World Wide opposes "Test" on the grounds that it can be confused with its "Hytest" trademark.

_ Hasbro opposes "Taboo Tuesday" on the grounds that it can be confused with its "Taboo" game.

_ RHE Hatcho opposes "Charlie Haas" on the grounds that it can be confused with its "Charlie 1 Horse" trademark.

_ Team 3D opposes "Bubba Ray Dudley" and "D-Von Dudley."

_ Converse opposes "A-Train."

_ Warner Brothers opposes "Tazz."

_ B.V.D Licensing opposes "RVD."

-- In another note, Joey Styles was not able to trademark that name due to potential for confusion with AJ Styles.

----------------------------------

Why WWE still has "Test" copyrighted, I will never know. It must be a dick-move so Andrew Martin won't be able to demand much $$$ on the indys. If you confuse CHARLIE HAAS with CHARLIE 1 HORSE, you should be shot for your stupidity. Charlie Haas is the guy's real name for God's sake.

I can understand the Taz/TazZ argument, as well as MAYBE the RVD/BVD argument. However, one is a pair of underwear, and the other is a spot machine.

Thoughts?

He legally changed his middle name to Test.

As for the others...I can see Team 3D opposing the WWE's copyright of The Dudley Boyz name, since Vince didn't create it (technically, Raven did, and Heyman used it).

Charlie Haas? HA! Try to win a copyright suit over somebody's REAL NAME. Stupid fuckers. That would be like PGA Hall of Famer Arnold Palmer suing my whole family for using his last name.

WB can do the "Taz vs. Tazz" thing all they want. It's different, get the fuck over it.

And Hasbro? Hey, what're those porno flicks from the early 80's with "Taboo" in the title? Are they just titled Taboo and the ensuing numbers? Well, I guess Hasbro could have a lawsuit on THEIR hands.

I thought Charlie Haas wasn't his name. I thought that was the name of his brother that died and he decided to use it in his honor Or am I confused?

Charlie Haas is his real name. His brother is Russ, and he always writes that name on his wrists.

I really hope the Dudleys get their names and stuff back.

You're half correct here. Charlie Haas is his real name, but for a while after Russ died he changed his name to R.C. Haas (for Russ/Charlie, obviously) in his honor.

But then he was sued by RC Cola, and had to go back to Charlie.

Test and Hytest are SO easly mistaken - give me a break

Team 3D are the only ones who I can see have even a slight chance of getting anywyere

Taboo Tuesday and Taboo? how about they sue the crappy musical "Taboo"??

Unless his actual name is Charles Haas, then they MIGHT have something go with. But it's still a stretch for me to confuse "Charlie Haas" with "Charlie 1 Horse".

Most of those are stupid, but I still hope WWe loses them all.

 Yeah, fuck WWE for coming up with a name like Taboo Tuesday for their PPV, it's surely oppresing someone.

Anyway, I just hope the Dudleys get their names back, WWE hogging their trademark was lame.

Didn't Vince go through this with the Taz/TazZ thing when the Human Suplex Machine first came to the WWE? I remember Turner threw a fit and since he owned the rights to Warner Brothers Vince couldn't use Taz? In spite of the fact he was under that name for years with ECW with nary a peep.

I think Taz in ECW had 2 things going for him that kept legal issues off him

1) ECW was relatively small time exposure compared to the WWE

2) They never tried to trademark anything related to Taz

Vince went for "Tazz" which they can oppose to,

Why would Andy Martin want the name Test anyway? It's horrible.

Accusing people of being fucking stupid right after spelling "trademarks" wrong.

This has gotta be one of life's greatest moments.

Sorry. The [D] and are pretty close together and I was typing fairly quickly.

Far as I know, yes, his real name is Andrew Test Martin now.

Well no because he can still go by the name RVD... the WWE just can't trademark it.

That's the message i'm getting anyway.

WWE won't use a name that isn't trademarked.
