Mole Posted January 20, 2006 Report Posted January 20, 2006 From IMDB Tom Cruise has reportedly stopped an episode of South Park that mocks him from being aired in Britain. The show, in which Nicole Kidman and Cruise's fellow Scientologist John Travolta are depicted attempting to coax an animated version of the actor out of a closet caused controversy when broadcast in the US. The cartoon Kidman tells Cruise, "Don't you think this has gone on long enough? It's time for you to come out of the closet. You're not fooling anyone." - referring to allegations about Cruise's sexuality. According to TheRegister.co.uk, Paramount has agreed not to show the episode again, after Cruise complained. A source tells the site, "Tom is famously very litigious and will go to great lengths to protect his reputation. Tom was said not to like the episode and Paramount just didn't dare risk showing it again. It's a shame that UK audiences will never see it because it's very funny." Wow, Paramount is such a pussy.
ZGangsta Posted January 20, 2006 Report Posted January 20, 2006 Wow, that just made the line at the end of the episode "I'll sue you in England" even funnier.
kkktookmybabyaway Posted January 20, 2006 Report Posted January 20, 2006 "Tom is famously very litigious and will go to great lengths to protect his reputation." Matt and Trey couldn't make this stuff up.
Renegade Posted January 20, 2006 Report Posted January 20, 2006 I was just sitting here, wondering why Tom Cruise wouldn't let the episode air...SO I TOOK OUT MA GUN!
Special K Posted January 20, 2006 Report Posted January 20, 2006 I thought the R Kelly stuff was funny in the episode. Then I saw all 12 episodes of 'Trapped in the Closet'. That's something that even Matt and Trey can't outdo. Absolutely hilarious, and you can't really parody it, since it's already such a self-parody.
Ravenbomb Posted January 20, 2006 Report Posted January 20, 2006 Wow, that just made the line at the end of the episode "I'll sue you in England" even funnier. first thing I thought
EricMM Posted January 21, 2006 Report Posted January 21, 2006 Doesn't Cruise realize that this is -1,000,000 cool points?
Guest netslob Posted January 21, 2006 Report Posted January 21, 2006 if you were as full of your own shit as that guy is, you wouldn't care.
2GOLD Posted January 21, 2006 Report Posted January 21, 2006 Doesn't Cruise realize that this is -1,000,000 cool points? Did he have any left to lose? The "Tom Cruise is cool" ship sailed a little bit after MI2 I do believe.
haws bah gawd Posted January 21, 2006 Report Posted January 21, 2006 "Tom, its time for you to come out of the closet." "I...I'm not in the closet"

Si82 Posted January 21, 2006 Report Posted January 21, 2006 I suppose I would care more if I still watched "South Park" but this is still fucking stupid. What power does Tom Cruise have over Paramount showing an episode of an animated comedy over here in the UK anyway? What a fucking dick.
Justice Posted January 21, 2006 Report Posted January 21, 2006 God, he didn't even have it as bad as Mel Gibson.
Guest JMA Posted January 22, 2006 Report Posted January 22, 2006 I wish Cruise would just go away. I wish Scientology would just go away. Then again, it is fun (and easy) to mock.
Shooting Star Posted January 24, 2006 Report Posted January 24, 2006 Uk fans can download the episode right here. http://www.southparkx.net/episodes/912-trapped-in-the-closet
