2GOLD Posted February 6, 2006 Report Posted February 6, 2006 Maybe Baltimore can challenge Pittsburgh next year, but I very much doubt that. They are an offense away from doing so. Actually they have the same problem the Patriots will have. The linebackers have gotten old. They just have the added problem of no quarterback and soon no running back. I just love Willie Parker breaks a 75 yard touchdown run...and is never seen again.
Guest Vitamin X Posted February 6, 2006 Report Posted February 6, 2006 Did Cowher and Holmgren end up shaking hands or what? It seemed like Sgt. Slaughter was left in the cold there. Yeah the Walrus was really being quite an asshole throughout the whole game. Something else that's interesting is both Cowher and Holmgren are on the NFL's competition committee...
NYU Posted February 6, 2006 Report Posted February 6, 2006 Now I gotta ask. In the great new tradition of the Democratic Party, will left-leaning Seattle whine that THIS GAME WAS STOLEN FROM US! huh? left-leaning Seattle?
dh86 Posted February 6, 2006 Report Posted February 6, 2006 I love how the whole city of Detroit knows their team sucks, so they jump on the bandwagon of a winning team. fuck you
dh86 Posted February 6, 2006 Report Posted February 6, 2006 that game was absolutely the worst ive ever seen...the Ben TD...DJ TD...Stevens getting down to the 1...thats a 21 point swing in an 11 pt game..sure Seattle coulda sucked it up and overcame it..but why?..refs need to start getting fired for games like this....I dont like either team...but fair is fair...this reminds me of Laker games when they had Shaq

death_by_burrito Posted February 6, 2006 Report Posted February 6, 2006 I love how the whole city of Detroit knows their team sucks, so they jump on the bandwagon of a winning team. fuck you So the Lions don't suck? Oh, I see your sig, the Pistons are the ones that don't suck. They are only the team that lost to the Spurs in the finals.

I see a UFC special in the making. I'll take Cowher, he looks like he has a mean left jab. So does anyone else think this was the death nail in instant replay?

(looks at standings...looks at Pistons squashing the Spurs twice in last 2 months)...aight just see whos there in June
snuffbox Posted February 6, 2006 Report Posted February 6, 2006 Did Cowher and Holmgren end up shaking hands or what? It seemed like Sgt. Slaughter was left in the cold there. I was wondering that as well...it looked like Cowher was just standing and waiting with a bit of a snubbed look on his face. I never did see any handshake.
Guest Vitamin X Posted February 6, 2006 Report Posted February 6, 2006 No, I don't think this will have anything to do with instant replay, if anything they might need to expand it even more. Or just really cut off the ties with the referee's association and bring in better replacement refs that'll be controlled by the league and not unionized.
naiwf Posted February 6, 2006 Report Posted February 6, 2006 So does anyone else think this was the death nail in instant replay? Yep, which means even more horribly botched calls next season. I just can't believe every analyst is towing the company line on those horrible calls. Is Jaws gonna get hit with a fine for calling a spade a spade on officiating? Awful game, awful outcome. Revisionist history though will ensure that Bettis, Cowher and Big Ben all go to the HoF 1st ballot because of it though. Bleh.
dh86 Posted February 6, 2006 Report Posted February 6, 2006 this reminds me of Laker games when they had Shaq Doesn't fucking matter what's fair when there's more banners in the rafters. How many times have the Pistons been to the finals? 1/4 of as many as the Lakers? I didn't look. hahahahaha defensive eh?...stop the Pistons jealousy and get back to how Seattle was robbed
KingPK Posted February 6, 2006 Report Posted February 6, 2006 I don't think it is the end of replay, but I think refs are going to be told to stop using it as a crutch. Ben's TD run was a bad call, but if it was overturned, the ball would have been on the 1" line, so I'm sure Cowher would have just sent Bettis up the gut to score instead of kicking the FG.
The Czech Republic Posted February 6, 2006 Report Posted February 6, 2006 Now we're getting all snippy at each other about basketball teams! Fuck the Yankees! Fuck the Devils! Let's go for four!

The Play Review Ref sees the play of the Steelers player putting the ball into the End Zone, after he's already down, and backs calling it a TD? Some of these refs need to be bitch-slapped, and the rest need to be fired.
Urban Warfare Posted February 6, 2006 Report Posted February 6, 2006 Yeah, Bettis got it in the endzone in Indianapolis..
The Czech Republic Posted February 6, 2006 Report Posted February 6, 2006 Let's fight about anything we can. Hey Bob Barron, you're ugly.

Guest Princess Leena Posted February 6, 2006 Report Posted February 6, 2006 That was one of the worst superbowls in a while... just a pretty ugly game. And let's not make predictions for next year. Nobody has any idea what will happen.

Urban Warfare Posted February 6, 2006 Report Posted February 6, 2006 Super Bowl XXXV was much, much worse.

I didn't look. hahahahaha defensive eh?...stop the Pistons jealousy and get back to how Seattle was robbed Using the refs as an excuse is just a total copout. I didn't mention once that USC was robbed by the refs in their game, even though there were clearly some calls that weren't exactly fair. When there are bad calls in the first half, they still have the whole fucking game to score. It's not an excuse.
The Czech Republic Posted February 6, 2006 Report Posted February 6, 2006 That was the one where Ray Lewis sliced up the offense and really twisted the knife into the heart of the Giants as he took a stab at a Super Bowl win, right?
Guest InuYasha Posted February 6, 2006 Report Posted February 6, 2006 Super Bowl XXXV was much, much worse. Oh? Please, do tell.
2GOLD Posted February 6, 2006 Report Posted February 6, 2006 So would someone like to tell me what their definition of offensive pass interference IS? You had a receiver, IN FRONT OF AN OFFICIAL, use his arm to stiff arm the defender BACK a full step (watch the defender, he gets pushed BACK a full step) those making it impossible for the defender to go for the ball and you DON'T see that as pass interference. So what exactly IS your defintion? I have zero love for the Steelers but I want someone to explain to me HOW that is NOT interference? He pushed off a stationary defender to get open in the end zone. I will not argue the Big Ben touchdown cause I found the call horrible but it was third down so who knows what happens. Still a bad call but if no touchdown, it's on the half inch line and the Steelers would have went.

They had zero sense of control, horrible play-calling, shitty clock management and a coach who seemingly gave up after the Ben TD call. Stop blaming the refs, and realize Seattle lost the game.
