Other thoughts on "tonight's" show...

-Apparently "Paul" was a pretty popular baby name 35 years ago.

-Mick Foley could read the dictionary and I'd find it entertaining. Yeah, I'm a mark for the guy. So what?

-When Torrie Wilson has to carry you, you have no business in the ring.

-The RVD/Masters match should've been billed as "Spot Wrestler vs. Bald Spot Wrestler".

-John Cena's entrance reminds me more and more of a New Kids on the Block concert.

-Credit where credit is due...Cena actually wrestled tonight, instead of just posing and doing the same 4 spots over and over. Wow.

Again, I felt Raw was awful this week. When is it going to get out of the hole?

 

HHH/Show in all honesty wasn't bad. Best match they've had together at least. I do like the fact they seem to at least be trying to protect RVD next week.

 

Why was the Shelton/Eugene squash even on? Eugene is so not over. At least Shelton's getting wins and probably gets the IC belt next week.

 

Ashley/Torrie was atrocious, but I guess I didn't expect any less. The Chloe "tush push" is one of the worst spots I think I've seen, but it will get you finisher points if you had Chloe on your fantasy team. This is the second week in a row Ashley has stumbled on a fucking roll up finish... She is undoubtedly the worst wrestler in the company. She makes Mark Henry look like Benoit. Well, no, Henry's not that far ahead of her... She makes Henry look like Carlito.

 

That Vince/Michaels segment was beyond pointless. I guess retirement wasn't so mandatory after all. I kind of like psycho Vince, but not enough to want to see 20 minutes of it.

 

RVD/Masters was what I expected. Nothing good, but a decisive win for RVD, which is all it had to be.

 

Mickie James rules. She's easily the best diva right now. I like Jack, too, for unintentional comedy purposes. Does anyone know who that loser is? And why is he a recurring character?

 

Edge/Cena I thought was awful. Those two have no chemistry and their match was very disjointed and choppy. It was like watching 2 computer guys fight in No Mercy. It also didn't help set up Edge/Foley at all. Edge is right back where he was a year ago complete with the "You screeewed me!" schtick.

 

Hopefully SD continues to be decent.

Those two might be the WWE's two most known household names(or images. in Candice's case), right now.

In her defense, Ashley's received very minimal training. I think even the IWC's favorites were pretty pretty green after just a few months of training. And I'm presuming that they got better training than Ashley did.

We'll see if Stacy ever sees the inside of a wrestling ring again. Even if she doesn't win Dancing with the Stars, the exposure on this show has probrably opened a bunch of doors for stuff. If the acting gig doesn't happen, she will probrably land commercial and modeling work that she normally wouldn't get. I don't think she needs wrestling anymore to be honest with you.

That's what I've been thinkng. Of course Candice would go over to reinforce Vince's belief that you don't need actual talent or charisma if you have big cans and are willing to show them off. But I agree more with DA in that Stacy, if she knows what's good for her career, would parlay this mainstream exposure into something other than WWE.

Hah, I would've liked to have seen this comment back around the time of the Rumble, when it seemed everyone on the board had a boner for Mark Henry. I think WWE should've given her a simpler finisher than a crucifix roll-up though. She's only been wrestling for a few months, and I can see where a move like that would be an easy fuck-up. It looked like Torrie didn't do much to grab-hold of her legs either. The women's division badly needs Jazz, Jaqueline, Molly, and Gail Kim to return if they want to add any prestige or credibility to the title. As of now, they just have some combination of Trish/Ashley/Mickie/Victoria/Torrie/Candace every week and its getting really old. They're the "Smackdown 6 from Hell". With the exception of Trish and Victoria who can actually put on a good show.

As for Gail Kim, she's in TNA, so she probably won't be returning to WWE anytime soon.
