Guest nokia Report post Posted February 28, 2006 I found these items on another board, they are Tna news & tidbit from the Observer news letters of 2/27 & 3/6... Enjoy... * Another newsbit is about Austin Aries. Apparently, he's pretty fucked with TNA after the whole ROH/Blizzard incident and than on top of that posting shit on the internet about the whole deal. Apparently, it was very "indy" of him and some peeps say he's not reliable after showing his true colors/allegiance. * Low Ki also apparently annoyed TNA by asking for more money than he was getting during his last run. TNA thinks he should be thankful for the exposure. So, they're going with Hotstuff Hernandez instead since he's big enough to not look silly with Billy Gunn and cheaper i guess Ki might still come in though * There is also this interesting tidbit regarding TNA: "If everything works out, one of the biggest stars in the world will debut on that PPV (3.12) which will build for him returning for the X World Cup." * I'm kind of plowing through the Observers as i'm posting tonight and just caught a Juvi Tidbit. Apparently, he called up Christian out of the blue who he hardly knows. He pretended like they were best buddies and bullshitted with him for a bit and than asked him out of nowhere if Christian could get him into TNA. - Any thoughts ob who this "Big star" is ?? Lesnar is the first one I can think of..
Dobbs 3K 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2006 Well, Lesnar fits the description of "one of the biggest stars in the world", but wouldn't make sense being in the X Cup. Maybe it's Jushin Liger?

The guy went online, explained what he did and actually took heat off TNA for suspending him.
Astro101 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2006 Is this big star "returning for the World X Cup" or "for the returning World X Cup"? If it's someone who was already in TNA, hm....I have no clue.
USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2006 I'm willing to bet its Liger. They did want to bring him back in to head up Team Japan IIRC. As for Aries/TNA, why is TNA being cunts about this? Aries is trying to do everything right and TNA punishes him for it.

USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2006 Mistico I don't recall Mistico being in TNA before. One of the requirements when playing the guessing game is to actually read the whole tidbit. It says the star is RETURNING.
Guest ABOBO Report post Posted February 28, 2006 I read it worded differently on another board.
USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2006 I read it worded differently on another board. How was it worded? Maybe you're right. But taking what is provided to me in this particular thread, signs point to Liger or someone similar.
GODSON 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2006 Mistico I don't recall Mistico being in TNA before. One of the requirements when playing the guessing game is to actually read the whole tidbit. It says the star is RETURNING. It said the "DEBUT" of the "RETURNING" World X cup It's either TIger Mask or Mistico.
RedJed 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2006 I got the issue right here and this is the deal. Whoever this is being planned for is hoping to be debuting for the company at the Destination X ppv in an international four way match to build and then return to the X Cup ppv for May. So its going to be a guy who apparently hasnt been with TNA before. I have my bets on it being Kenta Kobashi possibly, or possibly Mistico. You have to keep in mind the verbage about "biggest stars in the world" and that rings up Kobashi for that. I'm not sure Mistico is THAT over yet to be considered as such. Liger - I doubt it. I know TNA has been trying to get Kobashi for awhile in just one shot deals even, and if the New Japan association is not really strong right now, who knows. USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2006 "If everything works out, one of the biggest stars in the world will debut on that PPV (3.12) which will build for him returning for the X World Cup." He might debut on the PPV, but it sounds like he has been in TNA before.
USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2006 You know what? I don't care. They just better deliver on it, whoever it is.
RedJed 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2006 "If everything works out, one of the biggest stars in the world will debut on that PPV (3.12) which will build for him returning for the X World Cup." He might debut on the PPV, but it sounds like he has been in TNA before. If's he debuting at the next ppv, how could be ever have been in TNA before?!! The "returning" part is pertaining to him returning FROM his debut. Its like a two shot deal for whoever it will be.
USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2006 I don't think someone who has had an one-night shot with the company would then be considered as a roster member. Thus if he became a full time roster member (just saying in hypothetical sense), then he can debut at a PPV later on.
Kardo 0 Report post Posted March 1, 2006 I hope it's not Tiger Mask IV, the guys been sloopy and unmotivated for a long time now. Especially when he's jobbing (watch his title match with Black Tiger/Rocky Romero)
The Amazing Rando 0 Report post Posted March 1, 2006 "If everything works out, one of the biggest stars in the world will debut on that PPV (3.12) which will build for him returning for the X World Cup." He might debut on the PPV, but it sounds like he has been in TNA before. They will be DEBUTING for TNA on 3/12, which will be used as a starting point for TNA to put him over going into the World X Cup. I'm assuming they are bringing someone in and putting them over fairly well on 3/12 and using that to have the crowd actually give a shit when that person comes back later for the Cup. If it's Kobashi, what will he debut doing? Or Tiger Mask?
Hunter's Torn Quad 0 Report post Posted March 1, 2006 TNA have a working agreement with New Japan, so the chances of it being Kobashi are pretty much zero.
RedJed 0 Report post Posted March 1, 2006 TNA have a working agreement with New Japan, so the chances of it being Kobashi are pretty much zero. You sure about that? There may be heat from the meeting between Inoki and WWE since then. Porter, you still are making no sense lol

Vyce 0 Report post Posted March 1, 2006 If you believe Meltz, though, the main reason why they're pissed with Aries' internet message was not that he, well, posted it on the internet, but that he was giving inaccurate info (i.e. lying).

Guest nokia Report post Posted March 1, 2006 More Tna news: Credit: Kellers, Meltzer ect. In Wade Kellers new audio update on pwtorch.com he said TNA has signed a name from the Monday Night War era. He said hes not a huge name but he was a head liner and he will debute on the first primetime episode of Impact. New Japan's Shinsuke Nakamura may work the Destination X PPV. Scott D'Amore and Mike Tenay went to Mexico Friday to scout Mexican talent. According to Dave Meltzer, TNA is working to finalize Team UK for the X Cup this week as Doug Williams, Nigel McGuiness, Jonny Storm and Jody Fleisch. The WWC ownership angle in Puerto Rico involving Victor Jovica is the brainchild of TNA booker Dutch Mantel. Dave Meltzer reports that there is serious talk inside TNA of holding the Bound for Glory PPV outside of Orlando this year. TNA is pleased with the sales so far for the 3/17 house show in Plymouth, MI, and Dixie Carter believes that they could draw well on the road for a PPV. - PWInsider reports that the Ultimate X match is scheduled to go on last at the Destination X PPV. - The last quater hour of Impact featuring the tag team title match and the Sting footage did a 1.0 rating. Impacts ratings remain 55-60% higher then Velocity's average one year ago. - Team 3-D's Death, Taxes, and Tables shirt and series 3 of the TNA action figures are now in stock at shoptna.com. - The Best of the Bloodiest Brawls being released on 3/14 will feature bonus ringside footage from the "Barbed Wire Massacre" plus the infamous scalping Raven suffered at the hands of James Mitchell in 2003 back in Nashville during the Wednesday night PPV shows. The Monday night TNA Impact replay on Spike TV scored a 0.4 cable rating, according to Nielsen Media Research. A Lance Hoyt/Matt Bentley feud has been penciled in. The Against All Odds PPV buyrate was down from Final Resolution. At last report, the early estimates for Final Resolution had the PPV drawing about 40,000 buys. The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted March 1, 2006 "According to Dave Meltzer, TNA is working to finalize Team UK for the X Cup this week as Doug Williams, Nigel McGuiness, Jonny Storm and Jody Fleisch." Well...they'd get this right. "- PWInsider reports that the Ultimate X match is scheduled to go on last at the Destination X PPV." This too. But I'm sure that will be rebutted by the "Christian's first title defense isn't the main event when JJJ's always is" argument that Desperate Houswife will be starting as soon as he logs in. Bruce Blank 0 Report post Posted March 1, 2006 Intriguing ”one of the biggest stars in the world” and X Cup related to boot. So strike Liger cause he’s been on a TNA show before Mistico? Erm how is he “one of the biggest stars in the world”? Kobashi? I think he qualifies Lesner? Well I doubt he’d be put in the X Cup so I’m saying no So think “big names” and X division type people – Ultimo Dragon? Mutoh? No I think I will cast my vote for the one, the only – the BIGGEST STAR in the world (not just in wrestling) LAAAAAAAAA PARKAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!! *Chair dance*

USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted March 1, 2006 Hoyt Vs. Bentley? My God, why? Because according to TNA, Lance Hoyt and Matt Bentley > Austin Aries and Roderick Strong. Well Hoyt and Bentley managed to get more over with the Orlando crowd than Aries and Strong.
Dangerous A 0 Report post Posted March 1, 2006 Hoyt Vs. Bentley? My God, why? You see, TNA is still in this mode where if you have tenure, even if you're not over, you get TV time. It's one of the many things that continue to hurt the quality of PPV's. The feeling of having to get everyone on TV for fear of hurting feelings of guys who have been with the company for a long time.
Guest GoJoe Report post Posted March 1, 2006 Austin Aries has had great reactions in TNA since his debut match, he might not have fans bouncing about but he always gets the dual chant treatment.
