What the fuck are you talking about? NO ONE is ignoring it. The program is suspended until the guilty parties are caught. The players are pretty much, to a man, being considered a suspect and being asked to provide DNA samples.

 

If you are still sticking with the implication that the school should have proactively done something, let me ask what Miami is doing or FSU or Nebraska, all of whom have a much longer history of rape issues & criminal athletes? Duke lacrosse has no prior history of this ... what more could the school have done to prevent it?

2. The players started hiring lawyers left and right. If they didn;t do anything wrong, why are they doing that, instead of saying that they're innocent?

 

3. Duke should have suspended team activity immediately, and they did not. Hell, the players are still using the facilities for practice. He said that they screwed this up royally, and I agree totally.

 

I reserve judgement until more facts come out, but I agree with Feinstein when he said that something bad went down at the house. Between that and how things are down there in Durham, this is a veritable powder keg.

There isn't an exact case to compare it to, there's no "apples for apples" comparisons. So to say that it'd be a bigger story is an opinion and shouldn't be stated as a fact. I'm particularly careful in cases of rape. A friend of mine was accused of raping a girl. He was beaten up a few days later and sent to the hospital, had death threats, and thrown out of school. In the end, the girl broke down in the courtroom under cross-examination and admitted she wasn't raped, but it was consentual, but she lied to her parents about it and just kept lying.

It seems the odds of getting a black stripper are real small unless requested. The whole thing is so plausable to me. College students and locals always have tension and look down on each other. I went to a college (Kent State) of middle class kids in a lower middle class town so the townies were thought of as white trash.
