Guest Dam(o)nYankees Report post Posted April 3, 2006 Would you guys seriously have been happy if HHH had won? I seriously have a hard time believing this board wouldn't have been flooded with comments like "HHH won...big surprise, thanks Steph," etc. I don't like Cena, but did you guys really want HHH to go over? This place is never happy. There is always something to bitch about here. Yes, and I understand that is part of what makes an internet message board tick, but at the same time, the hypocrisy here is pretty thick, at least as far as HHH-Cena is concerned. FWIW, I thought the HHH pic of him dressed in costume looked cool. Wrestlemania is the place for overdone outfits and such. At least it used to be. There's a difference between special outfits and fucking stupid outfits. Its embarassing as a fan to see these people dressed up like cartoon characters
Dobbs 3K 0 Report post Posted April 3, 2006 BTW, what did everyone think of Misterio winning? Sounds like the match was a little too short, but still, who would've seriously thought even six months ago we would've been seeing Rey win the World Heavyweight Title at Wrestlemania? Jericho2000Mark 0 Report post Posted April 3, 2006 Cena should of gone over, but only after they did the double turn. Keeping the title on him as a face only hurts his stock more.

Superfly Snuka 0 Report post Posted April 3, 2006 Best move of the night wasn't even caught really on live or doing the instant replay; Shelton's jump from the rope to the ladder. Really pisses me off that, knowing that that is an amazing athletic feet, didn't even bother to have the cameramen in the right place.

Guest Dam(o)nYankees Report post Posted April 3, 2006 A career politicker is the lesser of two evils compared to a guy in the business for only like 3-4 years and is by all accounts a nice guy? Hunter's better in every single category. He's a better wrestler, he's better on the mic at this point and we dont have to listen to the announcers babble about how the champion isn't really getting booed, they're booing the fucking Coach. Cena needed to be beaten decisively, turn heel and have a nice six months at least in the midcard as a heel. John Cena does not deserve to be world champion right now. I agree that Cena shouldn't be the champion. But I wouldn't be calling for him to drop it WHEN he has a match with HHH. Vs Kurt Angle? Sure. Vs Chris Jericho? Sure. Vs Edge? Sure. Vs HHH? No. Do you really think that Cena dropping the belt to HHH will help anything? It just puts the belt on a guy who either a. will feel the need to do 20 title changes to catch up to Flair or b. feel that he's done enough jobbing and goes on another 9 month-1 year invincible streak. Since they booked Cena vs HHH for Mania, I'm glad Cena went over, because now he can drop it to someone else who I'd be more receptive to having the belt OR doing the heel turn, and refreshening up his character. Putting the belt back on HHH is not the answer NOR is it the lesser of two evils.

Perhaps, not the most acrobatic but memorable, nontheless.
Superfly Snuka 0 Report post Posted April 3, 2006 A couple of thoughts: The really screwed up the push the "new guys" seemed to be getting at NYR with Carlito and Masters getting squashed. Yeah, now they're going to feud probabaly, but after being booked so strong in the elimination chamber, they just lost everything they gained. Damn WWe writers. Really, at where do big Show and Kane go from here; makes no sense to have kept the titles on them. Mickie-Trish really had the crowd going; too bad the stratusfaction be Mickie got botched so horribly. Angle once again (just like in the elimination chamber) is the most dominant wrestler in the a multi-person match but loses. Actually ended up liking the fact the WWE tried to make the "main event" really a big thing with special entrances for Cena and HHH, even if it was somewhat silly. Think they should do this sort of thing for ever WM main event.

Corey_Lazarus 0 Report post Posted April 3, 2006 My spot of the night was most definitely Edge spearing Foley through the ropes and into the flaming table. Edge's selling afterwards - shaking, as if in complete shock - was PERFECT. Overall, I'd say it was worth the $30 I threw down (plus pizza for the 4 of us that watched it). I wouldn't have paid the full $50 price tag, but the $30 I threw down got me a good show.
