Ravenbomb 0 Report post Posted April 23, 2006 I think they're acting out what that proposal scene would look like, with Matt Hardy playing the part of the fan proposing to Batista. Benoit, as Batista, gives the thumbs up, implying that he accepts, but then swerves and gives the thumbs down, subsequently powerbombing the proposer

TheInsane 0 Report post Posted April 23, 2006 You've got nothing on that guy that asked Batista to marry him. wtf is happening in that photo?? It was taken in Helsinki, Finland in 2005. This was just weeks after Eddies death and Benoit took a sign from the crowd which had some kind of tribute for Eddie on it. On the other side it said "marry me Batista" which made for som unintentinal and in some ways misplaced comedy. I believe that very photo was taken by one of my friends which is usually going with me (and the other Swedish fans) to Finland every year for the WWE house show. Slingshot Suplex 0 Report post Posted May 6, 2006 I was at a the GCW Third Anniversary show, and Jynx was coming out to the ring, running around the guard rails slapping fans' hands, and only semi-deliberately I pulled mine back. Later on during intermission I came up to him to get my program signed and he was like 'Oh, sure, now you want my autograph' kinda joking like. He was really nice, said he liked my Crazy MAX shirt and had thought about doing the Crazy MAX hand sign thing when he got in the ring after he'd seen it. Delirious was really nice about signing stuff to, even though it looked like he was wanting to get out of there, as was OuTtKaSt Dude, you tried to do a drive by on the Jynxster? Add another to the 'Dawn Marie Appreciation' party. I've met her a handful of times. Always friendly and accomodating. Cena may get hated on but the guy was cool as hell with the fans at the house show I went to. Signed before the show in the parking lot, which isn't out of the ordinary cause a lot of the wrestlers will, but after the show the guy got out of his car and was out there for at least 15-20 more minutes signing until security made him leave. New Jack was tremendous. I think he was a little drunk but he was hilariously friendly. I had this picture I took of him blown up to poster size of him carrying his trash can of weapons to the ring. So I'm holding it up at this show in 1998 as he's going to the ring and he sees it and asks if he can have it. I'm thinking "Well shit, this dude's killed people" so I give it to him . So I finally get to meet him again in 2005 and I start to relate the story to him and ask if he remembers the picture. He describes the pic to me and I say , yeah that's it, and he tells me he's got it hanging up in his house in Florida. Most recently, I met Brutus Beefcake at a WLW show. Nicer guy than I was expecting for some reason. Met Jerry Lynn last fall on my birthday briefly. Asked him how he would compare the current GCW roster with the guys that were there a couple years ago. He said he didn't really get to see very many of the matches that night but he didn't get to see many of them when he was around a couple years ago either so he couldn't really say.... Guest KCC Report post Posted May 7, 2006 I went to an autograph signing the WWF had at a Blockbuster here in May of '98 when they came around for a house show. The three guys signing were Tennessee Lee, Jeff Jarrett and Owen Hart. I was only about 10 at the time, so I was real excited. My friend and me quickly got autographs from Jarrett and Lee and moved on to Owen. Once we got there he signed an autograph for us, and the Blockbuster guy tried to get us to leave, but my dad wanted to get a picture of me, my friend and Owen. The guy wouldn't let us and tried to get us to leave, but Owen loudly piped up "Just let the guy take a picture of his kids!" People behind us cheered and I got my picture, happy as ever that I had finally met a Hart. There was another bizarre yet funny thing that happened at a press conference/autograph signing in 2003 when Smackdown was coming here for a TV taping. The press conference had Benoit and, for some reason, our mayor speaking. When Benoit and him were both on the stage, the crowd chanted "Put him in the Crossface". The poor guy had no idea what the crossface was and agreed to it, leading to one of the funniest things I've ever seen. The article in the paper the next day was class. Timmy8271 0 Report post Posted July 6, 2006 I met goldberg in the mall in i think 98 or 99. There had to be over 1000 fans there. I waited 3 hours and he was a cool dude. But not as cool as: Jerry Lawler. I went to a autograph session when he quit the wwe then the Cat dumped him. There wasn't a lot of people there maybe 10 tops. I went to shake his hand and said "i wish you luck getting back in the wwe" He said thanks and signed the photo. A couple weeks later, he was in the wwe. My grandfather(RIP) met Raven and saturn at a IHOP before a wcw thunder. They signed a paper towel to send back to me. That was bad ass.

Scroby 0 Report post Posted July 6, 2006 From what I understand Tazz is a pretty nice guy. My friend's old boss was in San Fransisco at a bar, when WWE did No Way Out at the Cow Palace in 2004, and he sat down next to Tazz at the bar. My friend's boss and Tazz talked it up for a couple of hours apprently.
TheTomster 0 Report post Posted July 7, 2006 I saw Molly Holly and The Coach at a houseshow in 2004 and got autographs. Also talked to Eugene. At a GCW show in March I got a picture and had a nice conversation with Jackal. He was a nice guy and the crowd loved him[if you buy the Wrestling Inferno DVD you can hear my cousin trying to start up a Jackal chant). I also got a pic with Tiffany LaFane. Dang she was hot. Also I have got to meet Dawn Marie.
Jericholic82 0 Report post Posted July 14, 2006 My dad met Bobby Heenan at a benefit show in NY around 92ish I think. My dad was singing there I think and Heenan was there for the charity. My dad went over to him and got him to sign the program foe me. He said Heenan was real cool and even complimented my dad's sining voice. I found it weird ot hear how nic ehe was considering I was alittle kid and a mark at the time, so I didn't like him. The only autograph I got at a wwe event was from Suicidal ref Tim White at a sd taping in LA in 8/01. Though several wrestlers came out to wave at us in th eparking lot that day. I went to the wwa show in vegas in 2/02 and met most of the wrestlers the night before at the meet and greet (which cost 40 bucks to get into! too ba dw ethen paid 50 bucks each for tix when they were giving away free ones the next day to fill the arena They gave us a free event poster with admission I met and got autographs from Brian Christopher/Lawler/Grandmaster Sexay etc, Bryan Clark and Brian Adams (they were there as Kronik), Lenny and Lodi, Disco Inferno, Nova,Scott Steiner,Jeff Jarrett, Sabu, Shark Boy, Terry Taylor (I was one of the few who knew him and asked for an autograph), Tony Mamaluke, Devon Storm AKA Crowbar from WCW, I think thats it. Bill Apter was also there taking pics for the mags an dI may have been the only person who knew who he was. He was really cool too and funny. The guys were all pretty nice, especially Jarrett-he talked with everyone andn signed EVERYTHING AND ANYTHING fans brought, he even talked about owen for a few moments. I told him I still couldnt find "Aint I Great" in the record store and he laughed. I wihs I had brung more stuff to sign cuz I could have gotten it. He even shook my hand after signing for me. Steiner was cordial and freakishly huge in person. I was sorta scared to go up to him. Lenny and Lodi were joking it up and laughing. Nova asked him to do the Jericho arrogant cover pose and he did it. Its amazing how much he does look like him. I even asked him if he would take a pic with me and pretend to be Jericho. Also demanded he return that Loverboy tape to Chris and he laughed. Disco was reall funny as well. I was wearing my Raw is Jericho shirt and he informed me that he introduced Chris to his current wife back in the day and I was like "ok" Got some cool pics from it too. Devon Storm did a great "crazy evil face" for me and Disco did a sorta goofy smile. Later I saw Kronik walking in the casino and said hello and they were cool. At unforgiven 02 when me and my friend had just parked we were walking and saw Raven drive up in a car with Justin Credible in the passenger seat and they said hi to us all. Later on Rico came out to wave and sign for people (he was real nice but I didnt get over to him quick enough. Acxtually at this point htey formed a line for autographs, but you had to buy a wwe program to get signed plus wait on this huge line in the hot sun so we were like "well pass" so we went to get something to dirnk in the fox sports grill and al snow and spike dudley cam ein there and were real cool. Eclipse 0 Report post Posted July 23, 2006 This is not an autograph signing thing, but this sort of took me by surprise once. Some random indy promotion rented out the wrestling school that I work at for a show. On the show, there were some indy names, like April Hunter. On the show however, they booked Tito Santana. I met him, pretty nice guy, but no time to mark out or anything like that. As he went to change and stuff before his match later on, he said probably the most ARROGANT thing I ever heard a wrestler say. He was talking to some of the boys back there, some young guys. I thought maybe he was mentoring them, or just telling old road stories, but he said this: "NO ONE IN THIS LOCKERROOM IS WORTHY OF BEING IN THE RING WITH ME". I couldn't believe it.... Guest RicFlair Report post Posted July 25, 2006 Hi this also is not an autograph signing related. I attended the WCW Thunder taping in Manchester, England in October 2000 got their a few hours early and went to the back of the arena to see if I could meet any of the wrestlers. First comes Ric Flair and Jim Duggan getting out of black taxi (destroys the myth of limos for Flair) I tried to get Ric Flair's autograph but he turned round and said he didn't have time!!! Anyway I stayed round the back and waited along came Mike Tenay and he shook my hand (which was cool) later when the bus came which the wrestlers came on other guys like reno, kwee-wee signed autographs but none of the stars did. Anyway last to come was Goldberg and Doug Dillinger. Got both their Autographs on signs I made. The Dillenger sign (yes I made a sign for Doug Dillinger) sad eh? benn 0 Report post Posted August 7, 2006 My girlfriend and I went to a signing with Edge and Lita last week. We found out when we got there that you needed a ticket to get in, but we waited in line for an hour and a half and they let us through anyway. Edge signed my copy of his book and Lita signed an autograph mat for me and we got a photo too. They were both really friendly and happy to meet the fans but we didn't get to really talk to them much because the promoter was hurrying all the people left in line through. I was wearing my Rated-R Superstar tshirt and a jacket over the top and Edge said "wow you've got the jacket on and everything" which I'm pretty sure left me with a huge dopey grin. I want to meet him again some day and actually have a conversation.
DMann2003 0 Report post Posted August 16, 2006 I remmember going to a Sunday Night Heat in Feb of 99, there's a bunch of fans waiting at the top of the arena, overlooking the back entrance where the wrestlers are coming in. Most pass by and offer a couple waves to the fans, who are crying for pics and autographs. So walking towards the arena is Mick Foley, and the crowd I'm watching is going gaga, begging Mick to let them get an autograph. He looks up at the group (not big, about 4-5 people) and motions for them to come down. The group runs around down the stairwell to the back entrance area and Mick stands around signing autographs and taking photos for a good 5-10 minutes. Mick's a class act. tominator89 0 Report post Posted August 16, 2006 I only have a few autographs: Foley, DDP, Brock Lesnar, Bruno Sammartino, Rocky Johnson. They were all cool. I met Lesnar in a bar. A bartender called my friend so we showed up. He was just chillin so we waited until he was leaving to ask for an autograph and a few pictures. My friend was talking to him about amateur wrestling and being roommates with Shelton Benjamin. DDP let people take pics with him and the WCW title. Bruno got into some nice conversations about the past and Rock's dad was enjoying himself with some Chinese food when I in line. While I was there, I ran into Gangrel and Luna who seemed to be in a hurry but took some pictures since they were recognized immediately. Also saw Afa but decided against an autograph since I live in the area where his promotion is based. I remember seeing Undertaker before a show. He was cool. JustJoe2k5 0 Report post Posted August 17, 2006 But I did. I certainly made an ass out of myself, but I did something much worse: I disrespected Jushin Liger. You see, as I was walking away from the table, Liger offered me his hand a second time, as he did for all of the others. Except... I didn't notice it, not until it was too late. I just walked past him, oblivious to his friendly gesture. Everyone watching kind of groans sadly as I turn around and realize what I've done. My heart sinks so deep I nearly shit it out. By now, though, I've walked too far, and there are other people in line. Liger lowers his hand, and he really does look sad. What the fuck did I just do? The night had been so awesome, almost surreal, and I'd just ruined it all beyond imagination. The worst wrestling fan ever. I had a similar experience when I met Kane in '99, he offered his hand for a handshake and I didn't notice. I was able to turn back around and shake his hand but I still felt a little bad. Luckily, he didn't shoot any lightning bolts at me. I wouldn't get too worked up over it, as many fans as wrestlers meet in a day they probably can't even remember people they've met day-to-day much less over a year or two. JimmyHendricks 0 Report post Posted August 19, 2006 Awesome thread we've got here. I met The Rock at one of his book signings in 99. Waited for THREE and a HALF hours, and got a quick "There ya go!" and a handshake. It was worth it. I met Jimmy Hart and Hugh Morrus at a Supermarket when Nitro came around here in 2000 or so. I asked Hugh to give me the No Laughing Matter moonsault through a table and he said "Sure!", then looked around (this was outside, with no tables or anything) and said, "Sorry, can't do it on the concrete". Funny guy. Jimmy was a great guy, too, and freakishly tanned. I wish I would have asked him to relate some old WWF stories, but I didn't because it was a WCW sponsored event. I met Ivan Koloff in '94. I was 9 and my dad was asking him about blading cause he read about it in Penthouse or some shit. Koloff kept mad kayfabe and told my dad that he didn't know nothing about it he just knew he'd rather have been busted open from his head then have a broken arm or leg. Omar20003000 0 Report post Posted August 23, 2006 Back in 2000 after a WWE house show I headed to the parking lot, since I knew the arena there is only one way out fans and wrestlers had the exit the same way. I sat there and I saw Benoit pass by and he was stuck in traffic.he didn't respond to us. We tried to wave to Edge and Christian while their SUV was stuck in front of us and they weren't so welcoming. Edge gave the middle finger to some old guy but yeah... Then Albert was stuck in traffic. I was like hey you are Albert, he said "No, I am not what are you talking about?" He was joking around and talking to us while he was waiting. Albert was quite respectable.
Adam 0 Report post Posted August 23, 2006 Rhino doesn't like to take pictures if he's not in his gear. He'll sign ten million things for you, but if he's in street clothes, he refuses to take a picture. At least that's how it was during his time with the 'E. His attitude must have changed after he left the 'E then, because I got a photo with him at the airport last year. It was awesome. Waited around for an hour, and off the plane comes AJ Styles, alone. The tour representative asked what AJ wanted to do, and he decided to get some Burger King in the hour before everyone else arrived. We were talking to him for a while, really, really nice guy. Then off the plane an hour later jumps Daniels, Joe and Rhino, plus a bunch of others. We couldn't get to Joe that morning, but I got photos with Daniels, Rhino and Kazarian. All super nice guys. The day after the show I'm going through baggage check on my way home, I turn around, and who should be going through but The Dudleys and Aaron 'Jesus' Aguleria. Devon was pleasant, Bubba was tired, and I spoke to Jesus for 5-10 minutes as we both went to our terminals. Turns out the entire tour was in the terminal opposite mine, so Rhino asked me where a payphone was, and I was in line at the coffee shop with Joe, Gail Kim and Nidia. Jeff Jarrett was the only fuckhead on the show, acting like he was above everyone. I got autographs of everyone else.

Guest Overworked Report post Posted August 26, 2006 It was 1987 at the Jim Crocket Tag team Tournament Cup in Baltimore. I was 9 at the time and me and my Mother was there. First day my mother and I went through the center there. We had gotten the autographs of Animal and I think Brad Armstrong, both were very talkative and nice to me. We went to get Lex Luger's but he was a total Dick to my mother and we decided not to. Later on that night my Mother asked around and found out where Ric Flair was. We ran out of papers to sign and I wanted to go to the hotel room to sleep, but my Mom was determined and so we actually went into the bar where he was sitting. I was kinda embarassed that we would be disturbing him, but he saw us coming put down the paper and essentially invited us over. he and my Mother talked for like ten minutes, I barely had anything to say I was rather shy at the whole situation, my mother nearly forgotten and asked for the autograph. Ric agreed and she went into the purse but forgot we didn't have any paper left. so Ric lifted up one of his bar napkins and signed it and handed it to me.
