I thought the ending was terrible. Where the hell was he? Outworld?

But on the plus side, Robert Forster blabbering on about god knows what.

Thats what made me fucking laugh my ass off - where the fuck were they anyway and how the fuck is our hero supposed to get out of this afterworld?

Forster was morphin like a mofo - everytime it happened it caught me. But yah his storytelling was equally hilarious.

What got me was in between this really cheesy plot and acting, the special effects were pretty good - some of the battle scenes with the army of whateverthefucktheyallwere was pretty solid.

Oh yeah, and I was the only person in this whole theater, which gave me free reign to geek the fuck out the whole time.

Rented Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls the other day for my girlfriend, who has some weird love for it, and it truly is an amazing experience to watch a movie meant to be hilarious without once even cracking a smile. I find myself hating everything Jim Carrey lately when I used to love everything BUT When Nature Calls.

New Regency has acquired comic pitch "Pets," with James Gunn to write and direct. Red Hour's Ben Stiller, Stuart Cornfeld and Jeremy Kramer are producing.

Gunn, best known for scripting the "Scooby-Doo" pics, is back in pet mode. The comedy concerns a man abducted by aliens who want to turn him into a household pet. Peter Safran will exec produce.

"Pets" is the latest in a series of Regency deals for projects geared to a young male demo; 20th Century Fox will distribute.

Red Hour is producing "Tropic Thunder," the ensemble comedy that Stiller is directing in Hawaii, and "The Ruins," the Carter Smith-directed horror film adaptation of the Scott B. Smith novel. Both pics are for DreamWorks.

Gunn, who also scripted the "Dawn of the Dead" remake, most recently wrote and directed "Slither."

Yessssssss. I'm psyched. Even though it won't be out until 2009-10ish.

I came across a movie called "Color of the Cross" at Circuit City. Jesus is portrayed as black, and the crucifixion is made out to be a racially charged hate crime. Which, to me, raises the question; wouldn't making the crucifixion a racial thing negate the point (or what the point should be) of making him black in the movie?

Does anyone not like Back to the Future? And I don't mean the series as a whole, but the first movie in particular. I love it, and I can't remember hearing anyone say they really dislike it or hate it.

The first movie is great, one of my all time favorites...overall it's a good trilogy that often gets overlooked when compared to other trilogies, though they start to get a little too silly with the goofy time paradoxes. You can't go wrong with Michael J. Fox though, shame about the Parkinson's disease.

Pretty much. It's a new take on the story, I'll give em that.

Yeah, it's a new take, so it has at least that going for it. Just wish they hadn't gone that route for the movie.

I saw "Resident Evil: Extinction" last night with friends. It's better than "Apocalypse", but it's still not a good movie. It's at least laughably bad instead of mind numbingly boring like Apocalypse was. Oh yeah, here's some spoilers:

-

It pretty much takes elements from the "Dawn of the Dead" remake and "Day of the Dead", though you aren't expecting any originality here, so I didn't really mind.

-

How the hell did the Earth become a barren desert in five years?

-

It's not a gorefest, but it's bloodier than the previous movies at least.

-

Oded Fehr pretty much steals the show acting wise, though Ali Larter as Claire Redfield isn't bad either. Milla Jovovich seemed bored though, like she wants to do something else besides another "Resident Evil" movie. Ashanti is pretty bad in it, though that's expected.

-

Some of the action secenes are good, others are pretty bad, particularly the one with the zombie dogs. The bit with the zombie crows is actually pretty cool.

-

The Red Queen returns. Jill Valentine doesn't. Albert Wesker is in it, but he doesn't do anything. Tyrant is the big boss this time.

-

Alice now has telekineses (sic?)

-

The ending is left open for yet another sequal, as there is now an army of Alice's. Apparently, Milla says she won't do a fourth one, though Ali Larter has taken interest.

So yeah, that's it. It's more of a $2 matinee movie if you ask me.

The Nines look somewhat interesting. Right at your Door looks like a must see, which is a remake (more like modernized version) of some famous movie.

Hitman is being made into a movie?

It's already done. Saw the trailer a few times already. Looks ok.

I saw Balls of Fury last night. I enjoyed it, but there were these fucking 11 year old kids guffawing at everything that happened and i was pretty sure that I would have to kill them. My friend leaned over and said "There is nothing worse than a child's laughter."

It was based upon every asian stereotype ever, which was nice, but it didn't have much substance than that and totally counted on Christopher Walken to be the saving grace of that movie.

Why was George Lopez in it?

Saw Resident Evil and I liked it. Definately set up for another one here. Only complaints was that the open timeline from part 2 to part 3 wasnt dealt with as well as I would have liked, just saying Alice took off away from everyone after the end of part 2. Where the fuck is Jill Valentine though?

Curious if they will have Ali Larter and the others who made it through the film in part 4 at all, I would assume so.

Also, they showed a trailer for Iron Man during the film and hot damn, does that look tremendous.

Would have been better if Vin Diesel was Number 47 IMO.

No. Vin Diesel goes on the list of talentless actors that have no place in entertainment.

Interesting side bar: My acting teacher from college had Michael Vincent in his class and has stated that he was a better actor then than he is now. He also hit on my teachers daughter and she rejected him (this was before he was "famous." I guess she wishes that she would have said yes.

Hitman is being made into a movie?

After Timmy boy performance in Die Hard 4, I'm not confident in HITMAN anymore.

WHOA...WHOA goddammit.

Are you suggesting that Die Hard 4 wasn't awsome? because I know you didn't actually say that, just making sure. Because Die Hard 4 was fucking awsome and I won't stand for anyone saying it wasn't. Awsome.

Oh and yeah, I never want to see anyone actively calling for Vin Diesel to be in anything every again that doesn't consist of him being mute.

yeah, Vin's just not able to pull off anything more than silent brooding warrior that speaks occassionally a la Riddick. He couldn't even pull off dying in Saving Private Ryan. I don't like the Fast and Furious franchise, but I actually didn't mind Tokyo Drift...UNTIL Vin's cameo at the end. Totally not needed.

He had to be the most boring uninteresting villain in the history of film. And that includes Joe Don Baker and Dougrey Scott in MI:2.

It wasn't even the script, the guy was just wooden and unconvincing. I've yet to see him pull off anything.

He pulled off brother man running out with his money and avoiding the cops well in that movie Boiler Room.
