So Transformers is out on DVD - how many different box set and special versions are out in stores? I know Wal-Mart, Best Buy, Circuit City and I think Target all have special different promotions for this one, just don't know what exactly.

Plus, have they announced any future releases of the film on DVD? I'm debating on holding off on a special ubrt-deluxe version with DTS sound if possible.

The one that seemed most intriguing is if you get the two disc Special Edition at Target, the case is a Transformer.

I really miss watching SNL. I don't think I've seen a show in a few years. Every Saturday I'm putting on The Rocky Horror Picture Show and SNL is one of the shows I can't watch because I'm working at Rocky.

Buy a VCR.

good point but I always forget.

I picked up the one from Walmart with the bonus dvd. It's basically the prequel comic, but with voices thrown in. Interesting note: voicing Megatron is FRANK WELKER!

On a different note, I finally got around to watching the Bon Jovi SNL. It's th best of the season so far, which isn't saying much. I agree with everyone's take about the Digital Short, the Dane Cook spoofs and Iconoclasts. Funny funny stuff.

I ended up buying the 2 disc Special Edition at Futureshop. It came with a "steel" case. I got the case with the Autobot logo on it (the Decepticons weren't a huge part of the movie, so getting the Autobot case was an easy choice)

I didn't get into Iconoclasts. One of the co-writers is a really horrible writer, and it showed. I think the skit could've been much funnier, but it ended up being typical late in the show filler.

I still have to watch the live version of Seth Rogen, but so far SNL has gone three for three. Given how awesome the November lineup is, 6 for 6 is not out of the question.

I just heard a radio commercial for a stand up comedy appearence by the guy who played Biff in Back To The Future which cracked me up for some reason.

I just watched the Trilogy on Sunday/Monday, too. I was bored on Sunday and was only going to watch the 1st one but damnit I need to see the conclusion of the whole story once I start.

So I noticed it's mid-October and I haven't seen any Real Ghostbusters on Teletoon yet.

"Thanks for taking the time to write to us. Unfortunately there are no plans to air The Real Ghostbusters this year. That being said, we do have a number of other Halloween shows and specials planned, so hopefully you'll find one or two others you will enjoy!

Julie Benoit"

No Julie Benoit, I will not enjoy a Halloween themed Totally Spies... well I might but that's besides the point.

And yes, that Biff video is funny and very catchy. I'll watch it again right now!

Has anyone here caught the Nightmare before christmas in 3-D yet? I'm planning on seeing it this weekend, but if it isn't very different from the original I will probably see 30 days of Night. I'm having a hard time justifying spending 23 dollars on 2 tickets to a movie I already own on dvd. Damn Tim Burton.

I caught it last year. There are a couple things, but it is harder to go back and add the 3-D to a pre-existing movie. I mean, there are a few cool moments, but nothing that really stuck out to me still. If you want to see it, it's kinda cool to wait til the end of the run. I know last year it had been packed early on but I didn't get a chance to go in the beginning. I took this girl to see it the last week it was out last year, around mid-November and we were the only two people there, which meant it was alright to make appropriate loud/goofy reactions to the 3-D action.

I mean, it's kinda like if you saw any of the other Disney 3-D, but a little less. The showing I saw of Chicken Little ended up being the 3-D one and they sprinkled some gags, but not a ton cause it wasn't meant to be a 3-D movie. Now, Disney knew they'd throw 3-D out there, I don't think they ever planned 3-D for Nightmare. It is fun to check out though cause I never saw it on the big screen before.

It was pretty cool to watch but I couldn't watch it all the way through, i got a bad headache about 65% through the movie.

'Wolverine' claws on May '09 date

Liev Schreiber in final talks for 'X-Men' role

By PAMELA MCCLINTOCK

Twentieth Century Fox is sinking its claws into May 1, 2009, for the release of Hugh Jackman starrer "X-Men Origins: Wolverine," which director Gavin Hood begins shooting later this year.

"Wolverine" is expected to feature many other mutants -- some new to the film franchise and some from one or more of the three "X-Men" films. Liev Schreiber is reportedly in final talks to take on the role of a younger version of nemesis William Stryker, played by Brian Cox in "X2."

This is the first time a title has been confirmed for the next chapter in the lucrative film franchise, based on the Marvel comic strip.

The first weekend in May, pegged as the first official weekend of summer, has become the most lucrative moviegoing weekend of the year. The date has been profitable for Marvel properties: "X2" debuted in the same frame in 2003, grossing a record-breaking $86 million, and Sony's "Spider-Man 3" grossed a record- breaking $151 million in early May this year.

As of now, the only other film staking out the May 1, 2009, date is Disney's toon "G-Force."

There's been much speculation about the spinoff, which gained speed when the studio finalized deals with Jackman (who reprises the role he played in the three "X-Men" pics), Hood and scribe David Benioff, who penned the script.

Pic explores the claw-wielding character Wolverine's violent and romantic past, and his complex relationship with Victor Creed and the ominous Weapon X program, as well as his encounters with other mutants.

Hood will start shooting in Australia before moving to New Zealand and, later, to New Orleans. Latter location is a clue that the storyline might include New Orleans-based character Gambit, who is able to make objects explode and was a professional thief before joining the X-Men.

Producing are Lauren Shuler Donner and Ralph Winter, producers of the "X-Men" movies, along with Jackman and producing partner John Palermo through their shingle Seed Prods. Marvel's Kevin Feige will exec produce.

Together, the trio of "X-Men" pics have grossed more than $1 billion worldwide. Fox is pursuing another "X-Men" spinoff, based on the character Magneto.

Saw Death At A Funeral today. Well worth seeing if it's still in theaters in your area and you're a fan of British comedy as I am. The last 40 minutes or so of the movie are pretty fantastic.

I have to say I've lost a little bit of respect for Quentin Tarantino after finding out he banged Kathy Griffin.

I knew I shouldn't have watched her E! True Hollywood Story

He also banged Margaret Cho- so I guess he has a thing for bad female comedians.

Oh here's what many to be consider the worst SNL sketch ever; "Leather Weather" from what is considered the worst episode of all time (Malcolm McDowell/Captain Beefheart from the infamous Season Six))

And another candidate from the same episode, "Jack The Stripper". If you ever wanted to see Malcolm McDowell and Gilbert Gottfried in drag in a sketch about Prince Charles being a flasher, here's your chance.

Why the fuck did NBC cancel The Black Donnellys? I just got the DVD today, and I hadn't seen an episode prior... watched the whole first season and I'm hooked.

Anyone know anything?

Low ratings I assume. That's the reason 99% of shows get cancelled

I was reading up on it online and it was NBC's second highest rated show online next to Heroes, and the Television ratings weren't bad enough to deem it canceled.

Where the Hell were you reading that? According to wikipedia - the only TRUE source for information on things like this, THESE were the ratings:

1 "Pilot" February 26, 2007 5.5 9 3.5 7.93 # 50

2 "A Stone of the Heart" March 5, 2007 4.5 8 3.0 6.88 # 53

3 "God Is a Comedian" March 5, 2007 Online only episode †

4 "The World Will Break Your Heart" March 12, 2007 4.4 7 2.6 6.53 # 55

5 "Lies" March 19, 2007 3.9 6 2.4 5.53 # 68

6 "Run Like Hell" March 26, 2007 3.9 7 2.3 5.43 # 69

7 "The Only Thing Sure" April 2, 2007 3.7 6 2.0 5.3 # 71

Yeah that came out looking ugly but you should be able to follow it. Or just read the wikipedia page on the show.

Some horror remake news since it seems like the neverending genre continues....

** CHILD'S PLAY remake: Producer David Kirschner revealed this weekend that he is working on a remake of an old movie of his - the 1988 horror feature CHILD'S PLAY which introduced killer doll Chucky and spawned four increasingly comedy-driven sequels. "We're discussing it with Don Mancini, who has written all of them with us from the beginning. The next one we're going to do is we're going back and remaking the first one and even pushing it further and making a very terrifying version of the first one, which is pretty scary as it is". Will they use the same script? "I think it would be pretty close to it, that's for sure, but there's some other things that we're exploring also, and some twists that we don't want the audience to expect." No director has yet been considered, but he does confirm that it'll be an animatronic doll, not a computer generated or motion capture effect. (thanks to ShockTillYouDrop.com)

** THE BIRDS remake: Martin Campbell (CASINO ROYALE) will direct the re-imagining of the Alfred Hitchcock classic THE BIRDS for Platinum Dunes, Mandalay Pictures and Universal Pictures reports the trades. Naomi Watts has been attached for some time, but her involvement will depend on the script. The early talks with Campbell mean the production won't likely surface until after the possible directors and actors strike mid-next year. The studio says the redo will owe more to the Daphne du Maurier short story than the legendary 1963 Hitchcock film based on it which bore little resemblance short of the 'nature on the attack' angle. (thanks to DarkHorizons.com)

** APRIL'S FOOL DAY remake: Sony Pictures label Stage 6 Films has signed on to distribute the reimagination of the 1986 horror flick APRIL'S FOOL DAY, currently filming in North Carolina says The Hollywood Reporter. The new APRIL'S FOOL DAY revolves around a party given by two uber rich siblings, played by Taylor Cole and Josh Henderson, for their friend (Scout Taylor-Compton of the HALLOWEEN remake). Tragedy strikes when a friend falls over a balcony and dies. One by one, each partygoer is found dead. This remake will have more twists and off-beat comedic moments than the original. Mitch Altieri and Phil Flores (THE HAMILTONS) are directing and co-wrote the screenplay with Mikey Wigart.

------------

I think its so fucking stupid to do a Child's Play remake I can't even explain it. As for the Birds, I can understand that one and its good to see they are going in at least a unique direction there a bit. As for April's Fools Day, I just gotta say WHY??! Not that I'm so opposed to it, but it just seems a bit pointless since the original was ridiculously forgettable and with a similar premise to this one, I can't see it being any better.

Ha ha. April Fool's Day?

It's not a bad idea, really, to look to throwaway 80s horror movies for things to remake. A lot of them had workable premises, and aren't well remembered, which is a plus.

I suggest Slaughter High. That was a good one.

If it's going to be a remake of the first film with a similar script, then whats the point? But, animatronic doll gets points in my book. Fuck CGI.
