A good deserving choice, though my pick was Popovich, it's kind of a Duncan Ben Wallace thing, where Pop is always one of the top coaches every year. I feel Flip Saunders is a bit overrated this season, I haven't been impressed with him and his staff's defensive knowledge, he has the advantage of starting 5 who already played lockdown team defense. There's also the lack of putting a premium on rebounding which is irrituation and his substituion patterns are just plain arbitrarily bad sometimes (like, for instance, not understanding that you shouldnt play the offensive black hole lineup of Lindsey Hunter, Ben Wallace, and Maurice Evans together)

I'd go with Dunleavy... but, Avery has the obvious advantage with the media, so he wins.

I didn't vote for him, but I'm a little annoyed by the fact that Rick Carlisle didn't get any votes. And yet, Bernie Bickerstaff gets one? Give me a break.

Phil Jackson getting one vote for first place ends this talk of there being a pro-Laker bias.

Seriously.

Yeah, that's kinda bullshit right there. Jackson probably deserves even more credit than Kobe does for turning around the Lakers. No love.

I don't get the D'Antoni love. It seems like he just lets Nash do his thing.

The Suns lost their star center Amare Stodimare for the season and trading Joe Johnson for Boris Diaw and still got home court for the playoffs should be the main reasons why D'Antoni got the votes. Jackson not getting more votes...hm...the CLIPPERS had a better season than the Lakers! That in itself is a miracle.

The CLIPPERS also have a revamped and much improved team with the same coach that's led them through the last couple years of futility, whereas Jackson took a team that only added a couple players (including swapping Caron Butler for Kwame Brown, and making it work out beneficially for both teams) last offseason and improved them 10+ wins to get them into the playoffs. He's also somehow managed to improve and make Kwame and Odom improve their game and realize their potential as they get better and better.
