Why are they jobbing out their World Champion to monster heels? Mysterio should be being portrayed as an ass-kicking machine who'll defend his title against anyone at any time and never give up until he wins. More importantly, why are they putting Khali over him when they've just pulled the guy from the European tour because he can't work?

Same goes with Burchill, he jobbed to Road Warrior of all people last week, and Henry this week? Brainless booking.

I read the results on PWTorch as well, and all the Velocity matches bar the first one sound pretty solid.

London, Kendrick and Jillian sounds like a good combo. I can't stand the Gymini though, they are so boring. Get Benoit and Scott into a meaningful mentor/protege fued with whoever else instead of wasting TV time on Jesse and Jake.

I'm looking forward to Lashley vs Booker now. Either one could win and it'd be fine by me. Both of them should be upper midcard or main eventing right now anyway.

Ok, I don't even like Mysterio as the champ, but this is just ridiculous. What is the point of jobbing him out two straight weeks like this? Against a couple of scrubs like Henry and Khali nonetheless.

What on earth can this possibly accomplish? How could this make ANYONE want to pay money to see him defend it on PPV?

For Velocity

Funaki pinned Sylvan

Matt Hardy pinned Simon Dean

Chris Benoit beat William Regal with the crossface in a very good match

Gunner Scott pinned Orlando Jordan in a match with several boring chants

SmackDown started with a JBL interview. He ran down Latinos and said after Judgment Day Rey & his family can work for him with Rey mowing the grass, his wife cooking his food & his children shining his shoes. He said if Rey didn't want to work for him then he could sell drugs or work at the donkey show in Tijuana. Rey attacked him and ran him off

Kurt Angle was shown arriving. He talked with Teddy Long in the back & Long made Henry vs. Angle for Judgment Day

Super Crazy beat Nunzio & Kid Kash to become number 1 contender to the cruiserweight title in a good match.

Gymini beat Tom Wellington & Joey Ryan

Angle was shown leaving the building

Booker T came out and said he didn't want to beat Angle by forfeit in KOR. He challenged Angle to came out but he never did since he'd already left and Booker & Sharmell celebrated.

Lashley pinned Finlay to go to the finals of KOR

This was a long match with Finlay mostly keeping Lashley on the mat with armbars and headlocks. Crowd started to get tired of it and were booing. Finish saw the ref distracted and Finlay used a chair but Lashley no sold it and hit the spear for the win.

MNM came out and bragged about laying out London & Kendrick last week. Jillian Hall came out and challenged Melina to a fight. London and Kendrick came through the crowd and it ended with all 3 members of MNM in their underwear.

Mark Henry pinned Paul Burchill in a match where Burchill got no offense.

Nunzio and Vito were talking in the back and when Vito left Orlando Jordan told Nunzio that when they were in England OJ went to a club and saw a guy dressed in drag that looked exactly like Vito. Nunzio told him to back off.

Great Khali squashed Rey Mysterio

They did a stare down and the size difference was amazing. JBL was on commentary and was attacked again by Rey before the match. Rey's only offensive move was a springboard dropkick which Khali no sold. He ended up pinning Rey with one foot on his chest. Basically Rey was made out to look like a midget jobber. The crowd wasn't nearly as upset at Rey's treatment as I would of thought but I saw a lot of little kids lose interest and not pay attention to the dark match three way.

After the match JBL got in Rey's face as he was down and commented that his family was watching from the front row and said that next week he wouldn't believe who he had to face.

In a dark match Rey retained over Henry & JBL. JBL's body was noticeably softer than just last week. Rey hit the 619 on JBL and pinned him with a frog splash and celebrated a long time to end the show.

Hey, they finally get around to ripping off The Sopranos. Too bad it is only to work a comedy angle.

So not only do they make Rey appear super weak as World Heavyweight Champ but also make the #1 contender to the title, JBL, appear weak as well since he was able to be run off by a weak champion earlier in the show. I bet that'll make people want to shell out the money for Judgement Day!

So, would you guys agree with me that Rey has had the worst-booked title reign since Jericho? Who has Rey beaten since becoming champ? I know he beat Orton on the first Smackdown after Wrestlemania, but I can't think of a single other match of his that hasn't ended in a non-clean win, or him being made to look like a total bitch.

Rey should be booked in a way that leads fans to know he won't stop fighting until he wins or just can't go anymore, but still comes out looking strong. This is NOT how you book your WORLD Champion. If Rey were the Cruiserweight Champion and for some reason going up against Khali, I could understand him being buried to such an extent. Afterall, NO ONE (since Yokozuna, Diesel, Kane, Giant Gonzales, Mark Henry , or the 10,000 other guys that have kicked his ass) has ever destroyed the Undertaker like Khali, and you want to keep the guy looking like a beast. But still, the World Champion should never be made out to look like a jobber like Rey has.

If Rey goes on to retain against JBL at Judgement Day, it's going to make JBL loose a LOT of credibility. WWE wants us to forget the 2 minute squash of JBL by the Boogeyman at the Rumble, but after the way Rey has been destroyed lately, if JBL loses, its going to make him look like a joke.

Yeah but at the same time it makes no sense to bury Rey this badly. It almost makes me think those reports of JBL getting the title were a smokescreen and that Rey is going to retain. It makes total sense in a bizarre way, since JBL would now be very overconfident.

I would have bet that the Rey/Khali match would have been a DQ, either with UT coming back to attack Khali or Khali just nailing Rey with a chair for a DQ, etc.

Didn't JBL cut this exact same promo on Eddie Guerrero two years ago?

Yep, sounds pretty much the same to me.

Angle vs. Henry for Judgement Day? Funny, I thought Kurt was banged up or badly hurt. He should´ve sat this one out.

I can understand them wanting to make the Great Khali look good. But not allowing your World Champion to get any offense, makes the title look like complete trash.

I could see this popping up on EWR after you booked the Rey-Khali match:

-Rey Mysterio lost 10 pts. of overness from this match

-The World Heavyweight Title has lost prestige

Sometimes I just wonder what in the hell the writers are smoking backstage before they put these shows together. I'm not a storyline genius but I know that you don't just squash your World champ. On a side note, has the squashing of a World Champion in a non-title match ever happened before?

My best guess on this Rey Misterio thing is that they're trying now to get away from all the "Eddie Guerrero Tribute" stuff of his storyline - from his Rumble win up until Mania - and try to focus on what he can do best, which is look like more of a gutsy guy that can overcome the odds, come from behind and somehow find a way to win, with more heart and determination than anything else. Although it's not a good thing to watch the World Champ being squashed by the likes of Mark Henry or Khali, I think JBL is actually doing a good job playing the overconfident heel that thinks his win is inminent. JBL can win the Title at a later date if WWE so desires, but for Judgment Day I think Rey gets the win now, whereas all previous signs and reports pointed to a sure-fire JBL win. Rey should come out looking better as a champ here, rallying the people behind him based on his own work instead, without all the Eddie stuff.

The rumors about JBL going over are because Rey needs knee surgery pretty badly but is putting it off because of Smackdown's main event depth issues.

That, my friends, is how you make your champion look like shit. They've made it so that it's not even believeable to see Rey as champion.

The minute a WWE writer makes a reference to EWR, he would likely cease to exist in our world. To compare anything in the real world to a computer game is just...wrong.

I also hope Chris Benoit enjoys the new opportunities he continues to explore in WWE. Maybe someday he'll make it to the big show.

I'm guessing Rey MIGHT retain at JD and then JBL wins the title back at GAB in the rematch. If not, Mysterio is just getting completely buried when he jobs out to JBL.

Haven't watched Smackdown recently, like ALOT of people. Is there any reason why WWE is doing this to Rey Mysterio? Did he piss someone off backstage? Are they preparing to take the title off of him so he can go to ECW? It just doesn't make any logical sense to have your champion look like shit every week.

Benoit was the more succesful of that trio but that is hardly saying anything. While Benoit was shoved back as a secondary character and forced to carry Kane and Orton, Shawn and Hunter were taking the majority of the spotlight. The build to mania was focused on Shawn/Hunter with Benoit as the other guy. Benoit, at least went over the two but only fools interpret that as meaningful. Benoit was just ignored, at least he wasn't humilated by getting squashed or being an errand boy for Stephanie and her dog or having to cheat to beat Maven of all people.

Benoit was mistreated but he is so far behind Jericho and Mysterio.

He got to squash the two at Backlash.

Not saying he had some great reign, but to say he was treated worse then dirt is overdoing it.
