Summer 06 Concerts

Recommended Posts

At the moment, just some country acts, Yellowcard with the Ataris and Vanilla Ice.

Scheduling has been extremely slow around here so far and might pick up around next week but for now, it's weak.

Probably just Dwight Yoakam, Big & Rich w/ Cowboy Troy, Yellowcard with the Ataris (which I'm going to hate), Marty Stuart, and Vanilla Ice.

Ozzfest in Camden

RAVEN SYMONE in Wildwood

About Raven Symone. I work there and have to be there. I'm hoping her hot red-head co-star is there. I would like to take her under the boardwalk.

Kelly Clarkson in June.

311 in August.

Both will be the second time around for me seeing them live.

I'm hoping that both Matchbook Romance and Anberlin reschedule their previously cancelled shows during the summer as well. I've been itching to see both (MR especially) for a long time now.

because it's cheap I may check out Family Values this year. So far it's a pretty solid lineup.

Korn, Deftones, Stone Sour, plus 6 more unannounced bands.

If RHCP was playing Sac, I'd go but Oakland is the closest.

I saw Matchbook here in Jersey about a month ago, and they were awesome. In late June they are coming back to the same venue (Starland Ballroom) with Yellowcard, so you could see if that tour is heading your way.

Anberlin is pretty good live, nice tight sound. They are coming back this way with Hawthorne Heights in June, but I've seen Heights so many times I'm sick of seeing them. I'm hoping they schedule something for the summer closer to here with another band.

15/5 - Brian Jonestown Massacre

21/5 - Presidents of the U.S.A

2/6 to 4/6 - Rock-am-Ring

13/6 - Down

23/7 - Pearl Jam

24/7 - Radiohead

I had a ticket for Alice Cooper on the 31/5 but I'm flying out to Germany that day, which sucks. And alot of the bands that are also playing in my area are playing Rock-am-Ring anyway, so I don't think i'll bother checking them twice.

Is Yoakum pretty sweet in concert? I'd think it'd make for a pretty fun atmosphere.

Add Shadows Fall to my list on 8/12. They're touring with a bunch of fashioncore bands, which is fucking sad because they could tour with bands that are the most holiest of holy for metal (I'm talking about Suffocation and other highly regarded/influential metal acts that have a decent-sized diehard fanbase) and still put on an amazing show.

Plus, The War Within has a few really good songs I can't wait to hear live. I just hope they don't stick the singles of "What Drives The Weak," "The Power of I and I," and "Inspiration on Demand." I find that my favorite songs off of their albums have been either the lesser-respected ones, or the ones that weren't ever released as singles. Somber Eyes... was pretty damn decent, but while my friends were creaming over "Somber Angel" and "Suffer The Season," I was all about "Pure" and "Lifeless." Of One Blood got me hooked with "Crushing Belial" and "The First Noble Truth," and I really love "Serenity" (but the big ones off that one are the title track and "To Ashes"). Art of Balance was full of mediocre crap, but the two instrumentals and the title track I love. And The War Within had the oh-so-underrated "Those Who Cannot Speak" and a song that really SHOULD be a metal anthem in "The Ghost of Past Failures."
