If I had the tools to do it properly, I'd take the Sci-Fi Channel Logo, paint it red with dripping blood, and wrap it in barbed wire to celebrate.

Latest from Meltzer:

"An article in tomorrow's Hollywood Reporter lists ECW starting at 10 p.m. on Tuesdays on 6/13 for a short-term deal on the Sci-Fi Channel.

Our information is that the time slot was just confirmed today for 9 p.m. Eastern, and the show will be airing live. On East Coast shoots, Smackdown will be taped from 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday before ECW. On West Coast shoots, ECW will be done from 6-7 p.m. and Smackdown from 7-9 p.m."

Um, OK, this is getting confusing. From reading what Meltzer says, the show will be airing LIVE at least some of the time???

The official press release up this morning states that ECW will air at 10 p.m. ET. Where Meltzer is getting his schedule info, who knows?

No he is saying this:

Eastern coast location- Smackdown is taped from 7-9, then ECW from 9-10.

Western coast location- ECW is filmed from 6-7 pm, which on the East coast would be at 9 pm, then taping SD afterwards at 7-9pm.

So, some shows ECW will before Smackdown, and then others ECW will be after?

Strange.

I don't know how this is going to work while taping it with Smackdown... I think it will be off to a very slow start. Yeah, I'm having second thoughts about this.

-WWE announced on its web site today that ECW would be debuting on 6/13 in a 10 p.m. time slot on the Sci-Fi Channel. Several involved in the project as late as very late last night were told it would be a 9 p.m. slot.

The WWE web site did make it clear that it was WWE bringing ECW to the Sci-Fi Channel, thus making it clear the idea it was a worked opposition group was not going to be the case.

Da Meltz.

From what Dave has also said, the show will be taped from 9-10pm and aired at 10pm, so as to allow some editing when needed.

WWE® Launches ECW® As Third Brand

STAMFORD, Conn., May 25, 2006 - World Wrestling Entertainment,

Inc., today announced the official launch of ECW (Extreme Championship

Wrestling®) as a brand extension to its RAW®and

SmackDown®franchises.

After acquiring the ECW assets in 2003, WWE spent the past few

years re-introducing ECW to the global WWE audience and increasing the

interest in its unique brand of sports entertainment. To date, WWE has

successfully released three ECW DVD's, all of which have become best

sellers, and produced a very profitable ECW pay-per-view event in June

2005, with another ECW pay-per-view scheduled for this June 11, 2006.

With consumer interest at an all-time high, WWE is introducing ECW as

a complementary brand to RAW and SmackDown.

"After keeping the ECW concept alive and creating an enormous

cult-like following for all things ECW from DVD's to PPV's to books,

we feel that now the time is right to officially launch ECW as its own

stand-alone franchise," said Vince McMahon, WWE Chairman. "RAW,

SmackDown and ECW now represent a portfolio of WWE brands for fans of

all ages and interests to enjoy."

Similar to WWE's RAW and SmackDown brands, WWE will produce,

market and promote a full line of ECW products from television

programs to pay-per-views to live events to licensed consumer goods.

In a related announcement, The SCI FI Channel today announced it

would start airing one-hour episodes of a new ECW live television

program, debuting June 13 at 10 p.m. ET.

Basically its the same deal with Raw. Raw is aired live for the East Coast and Taped for the West Coast. The ECW shows will be done basically the same way. ECW will be live for the East Coast and be taped for the West Coast.

Vince McMahon should've just split the company into WWE, WCW, and ECW in the first place.

Vince wants WCW dead. He hates Ted Turner, he sees WCW as the thing Turner created and it will stay dead because he does not want anything Turner created to be successful even if Vince is the one making money.

WWE® BRINGS ECW® TO SCI FI CHANNEL

New York, N.Y., May 25, 2006 - SCI FI Channel today announced that World Wrestling Entertainment®, the producer of the No. 1 weekly basic cable TV series, “Monday Night RAW “on USA Network, will debut a summer series on Tuesday, June 13, at 10 p.m. ET/PT. ECW (Extreme Championship Wrestling®) will be an alternative brand of wrestling suited to fit the SCI FI Channel’s commitment to fuel the imagination.

"Research tells us that there's a healthy appetite for wrestling among SCI FI viewers," said Bonnie Hammer, President, USA and SCI FI Channel. "With ECW, we're able to deliver to those fans unique action with a twist that's perfect for SCI FI."

“ECW on SCI FI will push the boundaries of sports entertainment in new and unexpected ways,” said Vince McMahon, Chairman of World Wrestling Entertainment.

SCI FI Channel is a television network where "what if" is what's on. SCI FI fuels the imagination of viewers with original series and events, blockbuster movies and classic science fiction and fantasy programming, as well as a dynamic Web site (www.scifi.com) and magazine. Launched in 1992, and currently in 85 million homes, SCI FI Channel is a network of NBC Universal, one of the world's leading media and entertainment companies.

World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc. (NYSE: WWE) is an integrated media and entertainment company headquartered in Stamford, Conn., with offices in New York City, Los Angeles, Toronto and London. Additional information on the company can be found at wwe.com and corporate.wwe.com.

That statement definitely doesn't sit well with me. Vince McMahon wouldn't really consider adding Sci-Fi elements to a wrestling show. Would he?

So will they be getting matches during the Big Four PPV's? Or will it just be TV Shows and an annual PPV

I don't know if that's been decided yet, but ECW will be getting another PPV December 3.

They can call it...

STARRCADE!

...wait a second...

If they call it December to Remember my backyard fed from years ago will sue! Maybe they can call it The Fight Before Christmas, but that'd be stealing from my backyard fed too (I'm not sure why we had two big shows each December but it was our gimmick).

This is so stupid, they had a great storyline building with ECW splitting off from WWE and they completely blow it by just saying WWE has restarted ECW. This just reinforces my belief that the WWE can do absolutely nothing right.
