naiwf Posted May 24, 2006 Report Posted May 24, 2006 LoDuca bobbling that perfect strike from Endy just cost the Mets this game, as they now trail 6-2 Top 5 when he should have gotten out of the inning with the score tied at 2. A sweep is now likely since I have no confidence in Gonzalez or Soler.

I think he's hitting about .145 since his fantastic start last season. Jays are leading 2-1 after 6, but it should be more comfortable than that. They better not waste this start by Halladay, he's been terrific.

I'm not saying he had to be Aaron Rowand and try to headbutt the wall, but at least allow yourself to get within a few feet of it before pulling up.

Still, a 6-hitter over 8 2/3 is more than acceptable. I'd be talking about maybe getting the first sweep of the season tomorrow, were it not for Josh Towers getting the start.

Now....I hope to God that he gets canned. He should write a book on misusing relievers. Shame too, because Bell's performance tonight is being wasted...

I'd probably be lining my living room with gasoline had I actually seen the happenings in the ninth. Maybe the team heard Dusty's new contract is in place and the team's just waiting for the right moment to announce it and is doing what they can to make sure such a moment never pops up.

Beltran clearly overslid the bag. Rollins tagged him while he was on the bag, let go when he overslid, and Beltran got back in before Rollins reapplied the tag. There were only 4 camera shots that showed he was safe.
