FroGG_NeaL 0 Report post Posted May 22, 2006 I'm on my third episode, and I dig it. I'm a huge fan of Early Marvel Comics, And Jack Kirby is the fucking man, and the style at Marvel was his from the beggining up untill the late 70's/early 80's. Minoriteam is like Jack Kirby comics on Crack. One of the villians is call "Racist Freankenstein". He's the fucking man. He's on a team of racists led by a dude with a pyramid for a head, with an eyeball in the center of it. Anybody elese watch it yet?
Art Sandusky 0 Report post Posted May 22, 2006 I saw the premiere episode months ago, whenever it was. Terrible, and not just because of the retarded premise. It wasn't even executed well.
Gary Floyd 0 Report post Posted May 22, 2006 I hate the show. Racist Frankenstein is the only remotely amusing character on it. Other than that, it's dreadful.
EricMM 0 Report post Posted May 22, 2006 Lucy: The Daughter of the Devil was ignored for this? (cries)
razazteca 0 Report post Posted May 22, 2006 I would rather watch Space Ghost reruns.
AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted May 22, 2006 Marginally better than Squidbillies and 12 oz mouse. So it's pretty much only the 3rd worst animated show on AS. And that much cred is pretty much based on the art, which is at least cool looking even if it barely qualifies as animation.

RepoMan 0 Report post Posted May 22, 2006 Lucy: The Daughter of the Devil was ignored for this? (cries) I belive Lucy is in development for the fall. I like Minoriteam, nothing great. Anyone digging Moral Orel?
AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted May 22, 2006 Nothing beats Tom Goes to the Mayor... Okay, Minoriteam is 4th worst.
Golgo 13 0 Report post Posted May 23, 2006 Yeah, Lucy is in development, along with Death Clock Metalocalypse (also by the creators of Home Movies). I'm down on Adult Swim, but both are something new that's actually worth looking forward to. TGTTM>Minoriteam>Perfect Hair Forever>Squidbillies>12 Oz. Mouse. Five worst. Minoriteam-Mouse's awfulness may as well be interchangeable. TGTTM redeems itself on occasion.
Ginger Snaps 0 Report post Posted May 23, 2006 I like Perfect Hair Forever. It's like ATHF, only with far less plot and even more bizarre, nonsensical characters.

Anyone digging Moral Orel? I'd like Moral Orel if it wasn't so obvious that the creator has an ax to grind with his parents. The show is one of the most bitter things I've seen in a long time. Also, sign me up in the "Perfect Hair Forever" love.
Placebo Effect 0 Report post Posted May 23, 2006 12 Oz. Mouse is awesome. Squidbillies can be great, but it can also be awful. Moral Orel is fantastic. lovecraft, are you aware that it's a twisted take Davey and Goliath and 50's sitcoms in general? I've always loved Tom Goes to the Mayor. Minoriteam, however, is AWFUL. I can't stand it. It's not funny, it's not topical, the animation doesn't work for TV, etc. I fast forwarded through this week's episode.
EricMM 0 Report post Posted May 23, 2006 Its so odd, the differences on such crappy cartoons. For me, TGTTM is the only one with any redeeming value. Maybe Squidbillies. But 12 oz mouse, PHF, and Minoriteam? I dunno what they were going for.

Dobbs 3K 0 Report post Posted May 23, 2006 I tried to watch one episode of "Minoriteam", but it annoyed me so much I had to turn it off pretty quickly. What the hell is supposed to be even remotely funny in "Tom Goes to the Mayor?" It's just like "here's a couple people talking and saying weird stuff", with a plot that goes nowhere. I'd rather watch old Saved by the Bell eps, than either of those two shows.
Golgo 13 0 Report post Posted May 23, 2006 What the hell is supposed to be even remotely funny in "Tom Goes to the Mayor?" It's just like "here's a couple people talking and saying weird stuff", with a plot that goes nowhere. The ineptness of civil service and how dreadfully awful these small dead-end towns really are. Like the fact that the City Council meets in a family-style chain restaurant. Tom is a miserable common man in this situation, nothing ever goes right for him and he tries too hard to better himself and find a way out only to make things worse. The Mayor is self-centered, blissfully ignorant and unaware of the needs of his town and people. Really just completely insane and totally unfit for public office. It's all right on the mark. Can it really be said that any of Adult Swim's shows go anywhere? Overlooking the obvious exceptions of shows that are more heavily plot driven. They make their living off of random wackyness and the non-sequitur. It's not as if TGTTM is somehow worse than ATHF, Sealab, for example, in that regard. I find that to be a misconception anyway. Though I missed a bit, the plot does develop each episode and reaches its conclusions at the end. Like I said, whatever shortcomings it may have, like the dull dialogue or the art style, it makes up for it somewhat. Tom dressed as an animatronic Hitler? Kids getting caught in bear traps? A midget Brian Posehn getting trapped in a well? It at least has moments like these from time to time.
Maztinho 0 Report post Posted May 24, 2006 Minoriteam is the sukxors. 12 oz Mouse is stupid too. Who greenlights these shows? Do they even care what goes on after Family Guy anymore?
Guest Hotbutter Spoontoaster Report post Posted May 24, 2006 I love 12 oz. Mouse.
EricMM 0 Report post Posted May 24, 2006 Whats funny to me is that they repeat 12 oz mouse because it gets a rise out of their fans, because they hate it.
FroGG_NeaL 0 Report post Posted May 25, 2006 Damn, not much love for Minoriteam, huh? The only thing on Adult Swim that I wouldn't care if it got dropped is that Perfect Hair show 12 Oz. Mouse, I dug at first and still like at times, but sometimes it's wack as fuck. I like pretty much everything else. I watched the show that Moral Orel parodies when I was a kid, so it's one big joke that I'm in on all the way through. And Family Guy is still the best show on TV, even when it's not at it's best. Placebo Effect 0 Report post Posted May 25, 2006 Perfect Hair Forever would probably be hilarious if, you know, I'd watched more than an hour of anime in my entire life.
FroGG_NeaL 0 Report post Posted May 25, 2006 I'm an art student, majoring in Media Arts and ANIMATION, and I've only seen Akira before starting school. Now I've probably seen about 40 different Animes, and they're all good ones, it's like the school's personal selection that people there like. They have comic books, movies, cds, records, tapes, magazines, damn near anything you could want, in thier library. But yeah, even with seeing all that ill ass Anime, I still thought Perfect Hair Forever was fucking gay as hell.
Golgo 13 0 Report post Posted May 25, 2006 Because PHF stinks. The anime rips are there in full (half-assed is more like it), but like a lot of their recent shows it's simply boring and literally sleep-inducing. They've somehow gotten it into their heads that deadpan dialogue and awkward pauses automatically equals comedy.
FroGG_NeaL 0 Report post Posted May 25, 2006 I sat down to watch the first episode of PHF, because the previews made it look decent. I'm chillin', smokin' my blunt, and not long after smoking that and a cig, the show was over, and nothing had happened. Literally, nothing. Two characters met. We know next-to-fucking-nothing about either of them, but it seems they'll be the leads. That's it.
